- This video will show you how I remove a one piece crank, completely. If you are switching over to a 2 piece or 3 piece crank, make sure you get the right size American bottom bracket to fit your spindle size.
If you need to purchase spanner wrenches for the crank, I recommend-
amzn.to/3Jq97Wm
amzn.to/42gINXn
amzn.to/40gA45Y
If you need to purchase an American Bottom Bracket set, I recommend- amzn.to/3mYBVhk
If you are switching to a 3 piece, you will need a bottom bracket like this in your spindle size- (usually 19mm, 22mm, or 24mm)- amzn.to/3bBfWC1
If you want to know more about installing a 3 piece crank, check out these video:

Great video!
I have been wondering how the hell to remove the crank on my electra rat rod since I got it, all I could ever find were talks about square tapers and three piece cranks, and didn’t know I had a bmx style bracket
Great informative video 👍👍
Thankyou soo much ❤
Do u have to take out those inner circles with the hammer and metal rod even if u are not changing the crank and just changing the sprocket ?
Are crank sizes universal across all bmxs, for install?
Nooo all different
Why would the bearing hold the sprocket in? It normally falls out if it's a bearing like this one most time.
You just tap out the cups. That's what I needed to know.
Need to install a square-taper bottom bracket adapter.
Yes sir
Now that I got this out, any 3 piece recommendations that are ACTUALLY in stock?
What tool too use for that race nut
It was a 19mm-51mm hook wrench. The smallest wrench. You can see the size on the wrench handle
Can I replace unsealed bearings with sealed ones?
I have a one piece crank
1:32 what tools is thos and what size i need help
I got mine off using an adjustable wrench, my question is what is that tool he uses to take that weird bolt off the sprocket...
What if the cups have been in there since the factory in 97? They definitely aren't moving at all for me. Thanks!
I would spray a little pb blaster in the areas. Let it soak in for a couple hours. Spray it again. Let it soak again. Then Try it. I hope this helps.
@@thebasementbikeshop2336 Much appreciated. Is that a 97 VFR? I've got the same bike :)
Where did you purchase your spanner wrench?
It was a 19mm-51mm hook wrench. The smallest wrench. You can see the size on the wrench handle

What size is the jam nut?!very irritating how you left that detail out otherwise great video
Sorry about that. This outter jam nut is a 32mm but not all of them are the same size. I hope that helps
What did you take the jamnut out with
I want to know too
Can I just remove the chain instead of loosen the chain ?
Yes
What can we use if we don’t have the right tools?
Thinking about this question gives me flashbacks of cutting my knuckles open on the sprocket as i tried to get my crank and sprocket off with a flat head screwdriver and a hammer. I've done it but i don't have good luck without the right spanner wrenches.
Great video. What size c wrench is that?
It was a 19mm-51mm hook wrench. The smallest wrench. You can see the size on the wrench handle
Hang on mine has another nut connected to the bit after the first nut ? What
