Tammy scandalized the country music world when she came out with the song, "D I V O R C E"...even though she spelled it, it was unheard of to acknowledge divorce publicly. It just wasn't done. She and George were magic together.
Tammy was a hairdresser before hitting the singing ... She was encourage to go first it and fallow her dreams .... She did her own hair and makeup....RIP to our Legends in country music....will forever live our hearts and dreams❤❤❤❤
This song was recorded in 1976 after their divorce so the performance must be around then. Their songs tended to mirror their relationship which was short and volatile perhaps due to their addictions - his to alcohol and later cocaine and hers to pills. 😢. Best duets ever from these two.
Written by Bobby Braddock who also wrote He stopped loving her today. They loved each other until death They just couldn't live together. I love how Tammy says piana instead of piano
Love the George Jones Story of riding his lawnmower too the beer store lol …. He was suppose to be performing in our East Texas Town at our civic center . He was a no show he was at the bar I was working at back in my 20’s . LoL we had fun that night half the town was pissed lol …
He had a bad car wreck almost killed him and he wouldn’t talk to nobody but a lady from church….Vestal Goodman flew in they took her to George and he got saved and never drank again!!!❤❤❤
🎼🎼🎼🎸🎼🎼🎼 .. Miss Confusion.. Miss Confusion ... you still don't know the twist is always right around the next word in Classic Country Music ????? After meeting all these legends .. they still get you ?? .. he he he 🙃☺️🙃☺️🙃☺️🙃☺️ .. well , this song will last forever .. it is a great story , and it has the voices of George & Tammy. This was great 🍬🍬🍬🍬🍬🎈🎈🔥🎈🎈🍬🍬🍬🍬🍬
She was one of my favorites and I still listen to her solo stuff a lot. She has so many great hits you should check out. She died at 55 unfortunately. It was basically a necessity for her to have to wear wigs because she would have these heavy touring schedules and even though she was originally a hairdresser, it's just impossible to do up your hair that way every single night on the road so she would have like 10 or 15 wigs around at all times.
There was a George Jones and Tammy Wynette episode of "Tales of the Tour Bus" where people that knew them told stories about them, and it was animated. It's uploaded in multiple segments on UA-cam.. Highly recommend. It was from a couple of years ago. Animated by the guy that made King of the Hill.
I think this was in the 70’s. Tammy was always classy. She was a hairdresser before she made it in country so I’m not sure that’s a wig! Maybe! She had pretty hair. And girl, clutching your pearls? 😂 I love it! I’m southern and know all about that! ♥️😂😂
By itself it’s just a cold metallic thing, only love can make a golden wedding ring. Great lyrics, the whole song was written well and of course sang well too!❤
This must be around 1975/1976... George and Tammy had a daugter, Georgette Jones, and she sings too! There is a duet og George and Georgette, called "You and me and time", a great one! :) George and Tammy always worked good together, before their weddig, while they were married and after the divorce. George once said in an interview, it always was a pleasure to work together, but to getting married, maybe wasn't the best idea. ;) But they did one last album in 1995 together, called "One". (There must be a video here on youtube of that one.)
You’ve got to discover Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Married in 1996. Their love is an inspiration. Faith is from Mississippi and has the same cry in her voice as Ms. Tammy. Both have very successful solo careers but…their duets together are a must see/hear. But, you must see the original videos! Tim McGraw & Faith Hill - Let’s Make Love
I would love for you to discover Faith Hill her first single was Wild One then about 10 years later she released Breathe its important that you react to the official video to Breathe you will know why when you see it thank you so much I'm proud to be part or our BR family
My favorite George and Tammy story was when he wanted more beer, but she wouldn't let him go, and took his car keys. She thought the conversation was over... until she heard their old John Deere firing up and looked out the window to see George driving off, down the road... He got his drink after all.
Tammy and George were married, hence, the strong attraction and chemistry. The song he sang entitle He stopped loving her today was written after Tammy died at the early age of 55. She started out being a hairdresser. That is her hair and not a wig.
Regarding the country fashion of the time, there was a specific designer that fitted brothE male & female country royalty of that time frame. - Nudie Cohn. 😊
You should watch the Hulu George and Tammy series. I watched it a few weeks ago girl it’s crazy. She went through a lot with George. They loved each other but it was very toxic. Good series.
This is after they split up... Can't imagine singing about this with someone you had such a tumultuous life with... They loved each other very much.. they just could not live with each other.
Great couple, Here's a song by George, The name they gave him "No Shoe Jones" was when was supposed to appear in Concert New York City . The SNL cast were gonna be there . It was gonna be a big event and was in the office with his producer Billy Sherill and excused himself for a few minutes supposedly for the men's room."He excused himself from my office and we didn't see for 3 weeks. The Press was down on us, Radio was pissed. That was in first series we dubbed him, NO SHOW JONES. He just did not show up. We found out a few days later he was singing at a Road House bar /tavern." That was a brief story why they named him th at. I'm sure that went on for awhile trying to over Tammy . I would like for you to react to NO SHOW JONES , live in Orlando Florida ! Thank you ! Great reaction channel too !!👍
That's why you don't buy your wedding ring in a pawn shop. It's got bad karma already built in. There's a Twilight Zone episode somewhere in this song.
Mod fashion happening in early 1960s with Twiggy, Patti Boyd, Veruschka, Jean Shrimpton and so many girls in London. Then US 1960s. This song was 60s, early 70s
This was 1976. Tammy Wynette was a hair dresser before her singing career. She kept her license so she would have something to ball back on. I always thought her range was very limited.
60s and 70s but that's pretty much how it happened there is a biography of Tammy and George life it's a movie look it up tells you all about it And she basically walked out that way even still afterwards they still got on stage and sung together even golden rings
George struggled with Alcoholism. She would hide the keys to their cars so he couldn't go out drinking so he would crank up his John Deere mower and ride it to the bar. He got so drunk according to Tammy that he ran the riding mower off into the ditch.
I believe a lot of pawn shop wedding bands are cursed. Those that come from divorced couples or sad endings are like moving into a haunted house where previous owner died in, and more likely to end in divorce. And of course, stolen rings that are pawned, are just bad anyway.
A far higher rocket based on thinking about a george jones and it's telling me why not, so we're going to hold on cause I'd be hold on, we're gonna hold on by george jones in timelyn app
@@alanh1508 I wasn't rushing her, I was just letting her know... I don't get reminders from PayPal when I am sent money and if I am not checking them I am not aware 🙂
Those rings must be cursed..from a pawn shop of an unknown couple then to a couple that were in love that ended their marriage then back to the pawn shop for the next couple
My favorite duet George and Tammy.Perfect!!

George still loved Tammy until the day he died. He always complimented her. His alcoholism and cocaine use destroyed their marriage.
@@phil-1115 Yep! She put up with a hell of a lot more than I would have but then I was born in a different generation!

Clutching my pearls. Love your reference to how a Southern woman expresses her shock.
King and Queen of Country music
Yayyy! I was hoping you'd do this. George and Tammy have great chemistry, and both have amazing voices. "Two Story House" is good, too.
Need to do Tammy Wynette....D.I.V.O.R.C.E...Her & Loretta Lynn paved the way for women to sing about deeper taboo songs!!
When I need to cry and feel strong at the same time, I listen to Tammy.
I don’t wanna play house, another banger.
Tammy was her own hairdresser. That was what she did before she got her big break.
There was a George Jones and Tammy Wynette episode of "Tales of the Tour Bus" where people that knew them told stories about them, and it was animated.

Britt you often talk about the fashion and I am spying your white hat on your rack in this video. Can we see it in an outfit because it is a vibe!!!
THEY DID AFTER THEY WERE DIVORCED.
No wigs for Tammy, she used to be a hairdresser.
this is the YEAR of their divorce yet they mmanaged to do this!!!! STARS!!!!!
Mark Collie's "Something With a Ring to It" is a bit of good 90s country.

You should watch the new series on showtime called George and tammy told by their daughter Georgette book
You should listen to the ceremony it starts just like a wedding ceremony what the preacher said
The couple @ the end of the song is another couple, starting their lives together, after George pawned it!!!
In other videos of George, you mention you love it when he uses his low voice. Please listen to “One Woman Man.” It is the best!!!!
Please react to Dolly speaking at Tammy's memorial. You will laugh and cry...

Dolly and Tammy both used to joke about their "little chicken hair".

Was this their first or second mariage.. don't care just love it.
George struggled with Alcoholism. She would hide the keys to their cars so he couldn't go out drinking so he would crank up his John Deere mower and ride it to the bar. He got so drunk according to Tammy that he ran the riding mower off into the ditch.

Moral of the story: NEVER rush into marriage!

You need to check out "Like We Never Loved at All" by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. The video is very inspired by George and Tammy
They sang together till her death .you should pay he stopped loving her today by George jones
That's absolutely absolutely. Wonderfully beautiful wonderfully beautiful
We're gonna hold on, we're gonna hold on by George and Tammy won't answer also. Why on a bar
And the morale of this story is... Don't buy someone else's symbol of a heartbreak, as it may just be cursed.
I knew George. Nicest person on earth, sober!! He was not so nice when he was drunk!!
Tammy wynette never wore a wig that was her real hair
Please, react to Two Story House and Southern California?
George was a n alcoholic and was drunk a lot so that was a lot of their problems. But they seemed to be cordial to one another after they divorced.
