To all, YOU have the time to pray;
1. Pray in the grocery store line.
2. Pray as you pass a cemetary or church.
3. Pray while stopped by a train.
♡
Pray when you see an accident. Pray when you see a homeless person. Pray when you see an ambulance, patrol car, firefighters truck.
Prayer is amazing. It doesn't have to be formal. A simple Jesus help me is a prayer.
I just love the story of Tobit, too bad other bibles, don't have it! I tell everyone to read it, at first not knowing it is missed in other religions! I would lend them one of mine!
Yes indeed pray for everything, as you say, for everything there is prayer!
Pray for those who render you service and care.
17 days ago my beautiful husband passed. The most intimate beautiful thing we shared was to pray out loud together. In times of joy and in times of discord we would “take it to God”. As I grieve the loss of this amazing man, what I miss the most is praying together. 🙏
Prayers and condolences 💔
Bless you. I too am sorry for you loss.
So sorry to hear of your loss, I lost my husband just over a year ago. My condolences in your time of grief and loss. Go easy on yourself - there are no rules so just do things your way. God bless and may your husband rest in peace. I just realised you commented a year ago so we lost our husbands around the same time. Hope you are going OK 🌹❤
❤🙏
I'm so sorry for your loss I feel so sad if I lost my wife and she died we are my our whole family are Catholics my wife my daughter is age 16 twin boys age 14. All our children have been baptized confirmation confirm
Thank you Father for begining my day with the bible. I am 83 and have not tried to read the bible. In my youth attending catholic school they didn't suggest lay people read the bible without clergy assistance. So i am finally into this wonderful opportunity to join with you on this venture. Thamk you for devoting your life to God and sharing that love with us. You are a great priest. I thank God each day for you and ask he gives you strength to continue your journey with him. God Bless you Father.
My husband and I have been praying rosary together every evening for the last three years. ❤❤❤
Praying for everyone journeying BIY 🙏
Day 195
Date 13 July 2024
An important episode showing:
* Again, the prophecy of Jesus in the Old Testament through Isaiah Ch.7 : verse 14, "The Lord Himself would grant you a sign. Behold, a virgin will conceive, and she will give birth to a Son, and His name will be called Immanuel."
* Importance of treating wives with dignity and respect by their husbands in the same way Tobias did and not in a lustful way but as equal partners, the way God wants us to be- Like Adam and Eve.
* The power of prayer is seen through Tobias and Sarah. We must pray even when we work or pray. We need God's mercy. We also feel better after praying. Thus, it is said that we need to be constant in prayer and not anxious.
* The scenario about the angel Raphael and demon shows that the spiritual warfare is real. We mustn't underestimate that.
Thank you, Fr. Mike and Team Ascension. God bless you and the fellow listeners
13JUL2024. Day 195. Thank you for calling us, O Lord. Thank you for all that you have given us. Amen.
Reflecting on Tobias and Sarah praying together, in our Catholic church community, Couples for Christ, we were taught the importance of not only praying as a family but also praying as a couple. From learnt prayers like The Holy Rosary or The Chaplet of The Divine Mercy or The 3 O'clock Prayer to (personal) "prayers from the heart" when we pray for each other's intentions, we both grow Spiritually, always remembering "where two or more are gathered in My Name, I AM there." What a great blessing to pray as a couple! Thank you, For Mike, for reminding all of us about this wonderful opportunity to worship God TWO-gether. ❤❤❤
Tobit is one of my favorite books of the Bible. It is such a great narrative arc, and illustrates how the grace of God and protection of His angels is with His faithful believers, and the power of evil cannot prevail against the love and plans of the Lord.
The dad going out to dig the grave after saying goodnight is the best dad move ever....
As a millenial kid with strong visual brain comprehension, this video is such a gift. Praise GOD for Ascension's 'bible in a year' podcast with Fr. Mike AND UA-cam episodes with subtitles!!! Amen 🙏
Lord Jesus, I humbly pray for myself, Father Mike, & all the people participating in the Bible-in-Year podcast. May your word take deep root in our hearts & transform our ways of thinking, discerning, and acting. May your grace open our ears to hear & understand both the Old & the New Testaments that we may revere & treasure the words which God has prepared for all who desire to enter his kingdom. Send us your Holy Spirit to give us the Spirit of Knowledge, that we may know God and know ourselves. Give us the grace to approach the Word of God with meekness & humility, & with an eagerness to do everything God desires. Help us to be diligent students & faithful disciples of your Word. May our hearts never grow dull & may our ears never tire of listening to your voice. Amen.
Praying for Fr. Mike & BIY 🙏🙏🙏 I have really enjoyed this book of Tobit, Tobias & Sarah❤
Day 195..let's do this..
July 18, 2023
Round Two
Please pray for Souls in Purgatory. Go ahead, just take about 30 seconds to help save a soul that maybe is your family member or friend! Go forth and help save! Here is the prayer:
(According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory.)
The Prayer of St. Gertrude
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.
God would reply to St. Gertrude that He would use whatever was offered to Him for the faithful departed, according to His inclination to show pardon & mercy.
" Lord , things have not happened the way that I expected , but they happened according to your mercy." Amen.
Beautiful sentiments in Tobit today, what a transformed world we would have if the world operated in love not lust, not just in relationships, but lusting after power ,money, fame etc. Life does not always turn out the way we want it to but I try to remember This is the day that the Lord has made, I WILL rejoice and be glad in it. Peace and love friends.
I love these readings today, especially from Tobit! It is as you say: my life has not turned out as I expected, but it has been full of blessings I could not even ask for or imagine. The Lord is so good!! I never expected to be where I am today, having lived the life I have lived. It is all way better than I ever imagined. Blessed at every turn. Praise God!!
DaY 195 All the Praise and GLory to THE LORD
Amen 🙏 🎉❤
Father Mike,(guapo), I am praying for you my brother. Blessings
Shalom
The Marriage Prayer of Tobias and Sarah is one of my (our) favorite passages. We shared about the importance or praying together (we say our Rosary together every night) in our 20+ years of doing Pre-Cana. We do not have the relationship we have because of dumb-luck; we have what we have because God is at the center of our lives.
Praying for all on this journey here - and for all people. 🙏🙏🙏
Beautiful statement! I wondered after this teaching today if this passage is used in Pre-Cana & then I read your post! God bless you & your wife on your Pre-Cana ministry! 🙏💕
Doing this in 2023 and will keep doing the bible in a year yearly! Thank you Father schmidtz
Indeed, it's important to pray out loud together as husband and wife.
I love that Father Mike says husbands and wives should pray together. We read and then discuss the readings. We encourage each other to ‘keep going” with Bible in a Year. It has been such a gift to us.
I have read this before, but today hearing it from Fr. Mike, i felt like crying. I got so happy for Tobias and Sarah! Tears of joy!
Day 195 - Today we read Isaiah 7-8, Tobit 7-9, and Proverbs 10:5-8.
Saturday July 13th, 2024
Tobias and Sarah pray.
Deo gratias. I just wish that I would have learned all about my Catholic faith years and years ago. I just recently learned the true teachings of The Church. God help us all in our journey towards heaven the Heavenly Kingdom.
God bless you Fr. Mike!
I am unsure who I am praying for in this Bible in a Year, 2022. But may God bless you all listening to his words.
Thank you! We are all praying for all here who are sharing in this journey together. God bless you as well. 🙏
and may God bless you!!in 2023
.... and in 2024. 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks Fr.Mike 🤗👍🙏➕📿🛐🔥📖🧡🕊🧡🎆🎉🎇🎊
We used Tobit and Sarah’s prayer in our wedding vows. ❤️
Tob it is new to me but I am enjoying it
Welcome, you will not only enjoy it, you will really get addicted. Welcome to the Bible in a year family
Me too. I have never read my Catholic Bible. I always thought a bible was a bible. I feel that I have missed out on so very much!
What a blessing to hear from the book of Tobit. I am in awe that I never knew the Bible’s were different. BIAY has been the best part of my year and the first time I have been faithful for almost 200 days spiritually
@@terricolarusso2639 yes and Rev Fr Mike provides a great explanation of the story.
@@terricolarusso2639 Me too, definitely i will continue to listen to his podcast my whole life
Fr. Mike.....I didn't marry a Catholic and although I live him dearly, ( 44yrs) I love our Lord so much and would love to share this with him but he doesn't come to Mass or share my beliefs.....He did convert when we married, but at Mass one day, a priest who was visiting our parish lectured us about giving more money to the church. So much so that some people got up and walked out......so now I pray on my own.
Praying for you and everyone here. God bless🙏❤️🙏
Don't dispair, God ls listening, You are not alone, there is a whole community that is also praying with you and for you. Thank you for your prayers!
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻took a walk similar to yours for 40+ years. Keep him in your prayers no matter what. My husband said he would become Catholic but he never did. Still praying for his soul, he died in 2019……
Thank you❤️
@@rm-vf7fy Thank you❤️
Mine converted after 32 years of marriage!
God is good and has no time limits
When my husband was dealing with his final cancer, a friend from our parish would bring us communion and we would pray and share together. Although times of suffering lay ahead, these became some of our most cherished moments. Praying together is a wonderful thing.
Fr. Mike, I am praying for you and all who are on this journey through BIAY. But Man oh man, I miss you saying "Man oh man". Please start saying it again....at least once in a while 😁❤

I just love the story of Tobias and Sarah! Days 194, 195, and 196! And I love the prayer.
Amen! Thank you for this amazing Bible study! God Bless you Father as you pray for us, we pray for you🙏Thank You🙏✝️🙏
This is definitely one of the most meaningful years in my life in fact the most meaningful year so far.
What a beautiful prayer in the book of Tobit.
Sarah and Tobias clearly have a strong prayer life since that’s how they started out their marriage and I think that all of us who we should get married must learn from this example.
Interesting message about life NOT turning out the way we expect it to, but we still enjoy the blessings from God.

Round Two
A great addition to Father Mike’s Bible in a Year and Catechism in a Year is listening/watching EWTN Mother Angelica Live Classics. She speaks to us today to help us live right with God. Another suggestion is Saint Faustina’s Diary. I urge you to listen to or read her Diary to also help guide you in this life. Jesus I trust in You. #DivineMercy
praying for you Father Mike and everyone on this journey Amen 🙏
Thank you father mike for sharing this bible time line God Bless 🙏
So good, Thank you 🙏
AMEN 🙏.
Family praying together:
“Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them.””
Matthew 18:19-20 “
The looks on my confirmation prep girls eyes when I read the prayer of Tobit on their wedding night! Thank you father!
THIS WAS SO EPIC. GLORY TO THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
Thank you Father Mike & Bible Fam! ✨❤️🙏🏼🌞✨
Mount Zion is the name of the mountain Jerusalem was built on! My first time reading the Bible I missed what was being referred to every time Zion was mentioned. It seemed to be a big deal because God keeps referencing it over and over. Lol. Now I know. Little things like that are so helpful to know.
Thank u Father Mike 💫
In any season in our life we must always trust and have faith in God's plan.🌟
Today's reading is truly awesome. I really enjoyed it and actually am familiar with some sections in it. I like that there is not too much violence in the reading. What a refresher. Beautiful marriage between Tobias and Sarah and their prayers praising God and making him the center of their lives. Thank you Father Mike.
Learning every day, a little at a time!
Please join me in praying for Souls in Purgatory. Also consider listening to Saint Faustina’s Diary in a Year by the Marian Press Podcast and on UA-cam. Each day’s lesson is about 7 minutes long.
God Bless you. I will pray for you. Please pray for me.
July 2, 2022
Thank you so much, I have started listening to the St Faustina's diary.
Stay blessed 🙏♥️

Lord, You have dominion and power over all things. We need you and place our trust in you! We call upon your name to come to our aid when enemies stand against us. May we heed your warnings and turn to you when we are tempted to fall away. Grant us your mercy and protection in our marriages. Remind us to prioritize praying together as couples for where two or more gather in your name, you are there also. Show us how to live out your good intentions for marriage so we can honor you and one another. 🙏🏻
Some protesters of Christ and St. Peter’s One True Church must be the ones that find it negative. But we followers LOVE it!
Let's pray for them.
Thank you
Amen, Fr Mike, Amen. So beautiful. God Bless. Claire.

Day 195, 2/25/2022
This was yesterdays reading! Love this
This has been interesting for me on this Journey. Thank you and God Bless you Father Mike. Praying for you and for all who follow you on this Journey.....
Amazing ❤️
Amen 🙏
Very romantic.
How I wish my husband would pray with me.
Just invite your husband to pray with you. Start with prayers you already know (like Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be, i.e. if you're Catholic 😊). Make it regular, like when both of you wake up or before you go to sleep, and as often as you can. Later, try adding spontaneous prayers like praying for his health, his safety or his happiness and work. Keep it simple. Perhaps, by God's Grace, he will pray for you and with you regularly, ... later on. ❤
🙏
