I got one just like yours and haven’t used it yet. Very thank full for seeing a beginner’s approach…..mistakes and all. Thanks very excited and can’t wait to use mine.
Thanks for doing this. I'm in the same boat. I'm painting my house. My air supplied sprayer works well, but does not have nor can I find spray extensions to reach high spots. Bought the Magmun so I can use extensions. I'm planning on using mine this AM and this video saved me some time with the trial and error.
@DejanSmaic that's great! Glad it helped. Update: I used mine last weekend to paint an exterior building. Turned out great and really helped me with the learning curve.
Nice machine and review. Just wondering if what finish it produces on trim, is it acceptable or high quality. I'm very interested in getting this machine but need a sprayer that can produce a top quality finish, so considering the Pro-level sprayers also.
I painted the exterior of a brick building and noticed three drawbacks: 1) it clogs occasionally and needs to be re-primed. This isn't a big deal once you get used to it. 2) You have to lug your buckets around if you have to relocate the paint job. However, you'll have to do this with the upgraded model, too, as there is place for the trolley to carry your buckets as you move - they sit on the ground. 3) There is no wheeled trolley with this model. It makes it smaller and more portable, but harder to move from one spot to another. My solution - I'm going to build a small trolley that keeps the machine off the ground and can carry the buckets as I move. That being said - the price for the quality is very good and building my own carrier will still be cheaper and way more efficient for big jobs. Thanks for the question!
Used one of these to paint everything from cabinets to large projects. Fantastic bit of kit. Guess you need know how to really use one to review them properly. 😁👍🏻
This was my first crack at a power sprayer. There's definitely a learning curve but we'll worth the investment. I ripped through about 800sq feet of basement walls and ceilings in a day.
No, I didn't use the storage fluid because I used it again the next day. I did, however, use it later and it wad pretty simple - just follow the instructions.
Do you think it's loud? Great video it reminds me of myself trying to figure out everything on the fly lol. Im thinking about getting one but I'm not sure if I want this one or a wagner. Glad to see it all worked out for you in the end.
Once it gets going, its not very loud. Wagner is definitely the industry standard, but I bought this one because it seemed to fit my needs and budget for a big job. I actually own a handheld wagner and it works great, but it requires thinning which is a bit inconvenient sometimes. Do your research and I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck!
The Wagner Control Pro 170 is the most similar alternative. They're comparable in terms of design, use, and features. They are also close in MSRP, but the graco seems to be on sale more often, which could create a price difference of $100 or more. They both get good reviews and can handle large jobs, but Graco suggests that it is still a "light duty" (homeower) machine, whereas the Wagner would be suitable for professionals to use most of the year. I doubt you could go wrong with either.
Considering someone that’s about to purchase their first paint sprayer, what does your video add that is missing from a review posted by a professional with many years experience? I’m truly asking as I may be missing something. If not, I suggest you spend the actual time to master a product and then review it. This has two advantages. Not only can you give actual advice that will help people but you won’t embarrass yourself in front of the world.
May I ask what was so embarrassing about this first-time user, amature review? I've had multiple people thank me for this info. My take on these products is that pros don't typically buy what I review, and the average person might see how simple or difficult the learning curve may be. Thanks for your candor.
I'm kind of with this guy, man. I appreciate getting an honest first timer's review and context from a beginner's perspective, but I think you could benefit from figuring this thing out and having your s**t together before hitting the record button. Also, watch your video before posting and trim out some of the rambling and uncertainty. I'm not trying to be an a$$hole, I just want to help you understand the viewers perspective. You have a great camera and audio, and you framed the scene correctly; it was just unfortunate to see you fumbling and going off course on the subject at times.
thanks for taking the time for this review. it was the right way to do it and it made my buying decision easier
@partsbenttoys Thanks - appreciate the comment and glad it was helpful!
just bought the same sprayer you've done great, I have definitely got a head start now
@12296145 appreciate the feedback! Good luck with your project!
Great to see it in action!

It's a huge time saver! I'm going to be spraying the second half of my basement ceiling soon, as well as the walls. Good luck!
Good review, thanks for sharing!

Thank you for filming this. Would you say this one is sufficient or maybe buy the next model up?

Good job
@stevedimartino683 thanks, Steve. I've used it again a few times and it has become pretty handy for a DIYer.
Can this used extension
@romey8768 you can purchase a longer hose, if that's what you mean. I got a 50' one and it works great.
@ I meant the nozzle the metal extender
@romey8768 yes - you can buy accessories for this, including an extension nozzle!
@ thanks a lot

Did not see you put the little bottle of conditioner or what ever it is called.

@@fortorangewoodworking oh I had no idea Wagner was the standard. Do you have any Wagner sprayer recommendations that would compare to the Graco mppp?

@@theirishman088 Anytime. I'm still working my way through a lot of this stuff myself and that's what the channel is mostly about!
This is 220V?
Looks like a 110 v plug
You got to start somewhere, you’ll only get better from here
Much easier to do this type of spraying with an extension piece.
Good idea! I'll look into getting one for the next project!
U didn't say if u have th top on spray or in clog and th switch on spray or prime that would b more informative

Next time don't film in selfie mode....Everything is backwards.
Thanks Chipper... sometimes I just need to make sure I'm in the shot! The joys of armature photography
This thing blew up wtf 🤬
