Great video man!!! One word of caution to you and anyone else who watches and hopefully reads this... Paint sprayers work at around 2000-4000 psi, lower end of that for a sprayer like what's seen here. That is more than enough pressure to break skin and poses an injection hazard. If that sprayer is still at usage pressure and you blast your skin, you could be injecting water or paint under your skin, which requires IMMEDIATE surgical attention or it can cause a lot of issues up to and including death. Maybe just use the garden hose to clean your hands!! If you forget to turn the dial down you could put yourself in a world of hurt. Other than that great video!!!
I used mine during the summer. Don’t use it enough to always remember these steps. I love that this video is straight to the point, clear, short. Exactly what I need. Thanks
Just bought mine yesterday and sprayed two garage doors today. Once you set that little machine up, you feel really upset there isn’t anymore paint to spray. You feel like painting everything. Thanks for the how-to on this sprayer. It cam in handy. I would say that when you think all the hoses and gun are clean, take a white t-shirt and spray it to make sure. The hand thing works but it doesn’t show the contrast as well as a white towel or shirt
Great video, I took my computer to the basement and followed the video literally step by step and was up and painting in no time with confidence. This was my first time using this sprayer (right out of the box) and it could not have gone more smoothly. Thanks for the tutorial!
Definitely saving this for future use. I got this paint sprayer a few days ago but the directions confused me and I’m definitely a visual learner. Thank you!
Thank You for Everything, it’s been five years that I bought this machine and I watch your tape very useful, and I’m using it again five years later and I rewind and rewatch your tape. Very useful again thank you thank you again 👍👏👏👏
Just got done painting my house with this sprayer.. used almost 10 gallons. I referenced your video a couple times in the beginning to get the sprayer primed and tuned in and also at the end of the day to clean the sprayer. Just wanted to reaffirm most of the comments I read here… your video/process is awesome and spot on! Thanks so much for sharing.
I just bought this sprayer a few weeks ago. It's still in the box. 😬 Would you mind sharing what brand/type of paint you used, and if you think I could paint brick with it?
Just bought this a couple of days ago and this video makes it a whole lot easier to learn how to use it (my first time) than mulling through the directions. Thanks for making this instructional video. Would be great if companies for whatever product they manufacture, not only keep including the directions with their product, but make an educational video of their own and include the link where you can go watch it.
Hey dude, just want to say thank you for the very detailed video on how to use this machine. I was nervous at first when I bought it but you made everything stupid simple, and now everything is coming together. God bless you.
Man I just wanna say.. I almost never comment on videos.. but this video was truly helpful to me today.. no bs.. no nonsense.. made cleaning my equipment so easy. Thank you 🙌🏻
Exactly what he said. Before someone can upload their instructional/review video, UA-cam should make them watch this video and list at least three reasons why it is the gold standard. 🙇♂️ Eh, that will never happen. Maybe they could branch off like the Kid’s UA-cam, but for fully functional adults instead.
I need to open the box tomorrow and spray a complete 2br apartment. Prepped it today. I do flooring for a living. "Tank, download the Graco Project painter plus primer."- Done. Thankyou.
Great video Austin! My unit has a prime/clean setting, you mentioned setting the control knob to start. Some of the Graco Corporation videos are really confusing. I painted my whole exterior house with the project painter plus, worked great. I stained and sealed a huge wood fence and other projects. Keeping the unit clean with proper flushing is key and using Graco Pump Armor is critical, especially for winter storage. It's also good to deep clean with paint thinner according to professional painters I have talked to. I'm currently painting my kitchen oak cabinets which saves a lot of time from brushing and rolling. I purchased a fine finish low pressure 208 tip, (FFLP Switch Tip) and a compatible Rac X blue guard, it sprays awesome.
Thanks for making this video, I read over the manual like 20 times and couldn't figure out WTF I was doing wrong. I think the manual just skips some steps or assumes you're coming from a different step. Much appreciated!
Awesome video! Super clear. The only thing I would mention is to make sure you keep an eye on the level of paint in your bucket. If it gets too low and sucks up air you will likely need to reprime the gun. Great video!
Austin - Just bought this paint sprayer and am soo thankful for your video ! ! ! We literally followed your step by step instructional video and had a successful day of painting with no issues. Thank You and keep the videos coming.
I wish you would make a video on how do you properly clean the machine because you were the only one that I could understand and follow on how to use it
Absolutely love this item. I never really saw myself getting a paint sprayer until recent of course I decided I wanted to repaint my house of course. And the first one I use which was a smaller one A Wagner not a good choice.. I'm sure he had his qualities but for me horrific. But this machine itself does the job. Basically I now have a Powerhouse in which now I can do small jobs big jobs if needs. or if other people decide to call upon me to do a job of course. Even though I'm still learning it and there are a few drips that happened to occur during the painting process but it's all fine and dandy because I know I could just use a roller and a brush any single time I'm doing a paint job anywhere. Very good machine I am very happy with my little investment.
Hey Austin, Thanks for the video, just bought one of these and I appreciate the detailed instructions, well done. ⚠️ As a cautionary note, you should please probably think about removing the helpful hand cleaning tip from the end of the section. You obviously accomplished without harm, but somebody who isn’t paying attention might hurt themselves after seeing that. It has been stated in other comments, you can just as easily use a hose for that with no risk at all.
EXCELLENT video! However, I do have one input. I purchased this several years ago and only used it once. Decided to do my decks and privacy fence and totally forgot how to use it. This video is EXCELLENT on how to setup and use. I think its vital however to thin the paint because it kept clogging up and I had a long day taking it apart, cleaning it, reassembling it and wasting paint.
I would run pumpsaver thru pump before storing machine. Also break down spray gun , clean spray tip and filter in handle. Ready to go next time you grab it.
This looks like one of the easiest sprayers to use. I like that you don’t have to mix it with water to make it one part this and one part that to be able to paint....
Austin Makes Stuff How about with oil based paints? I just bought this rig. I have been painting off and on for many years and lately been getting lots of odd jobs. Tomorrow I have to paint some wrought iron railing and a mailbox post. This will make quick work of it and the job will fund the purchase. However, I will need to use oil based paint. Will it need to be thinned at all and what about clean up? Im guessing I need to run thinner and or mineral spirits through it until its spraying clean?
John 4.5 Yes! You can definitely use oil based paint. Although it is a little different and I don’t want to tell you wrong, I will refer you to this video by The Idaho Painter! ua-cam.com/video/L_KmKQUtHRI/v-deo.html
Just gonna add that in Europe this machine is called Graco A20 Plus, but searching for reviews on that on youtube only grants reviews in french, german and similar nonsense (😁) languages instead of english. So thanks for the review!
What are the steps I need to take to salvage the paint. Seems like there is still a lot of paint in the gallon when it starts chirping that’s it’s out of paint.
If it is done carefully, can you purge the line back into the paint tin? A little water should not affect the paint for next use as the open can will have lost some water content during spraying, anyway. Also, it would have been good to see more close up views of the actual paint performance and finishes. I am looking to buy a unit and usage and finish comments would both be helpful. Cheers 👍
Thanks for the video man. This was perfect. Going to pick a used one up tmrw . I'm excited. Roller, brushes, and even an air pressure sprayer were not making this corrugated metal ceiling with exposed vents etc paint job go smooth enough for me.
Yeahhh.. This thing for a ceiling is ideal. Let me know how that project on the corrugated metal turns out. My parents have a barn that could probably use a paint job at some point, especially the roof.
My friend let me borrow his sprayer and the only thing he told me was to watch this video and that’s all I needed to know. Great video, thanks!

Other than that great video!!!
Bruh 💀
You are %100 correct. That is why they come with a red tip to protect your from doing this. Do not spray your self with this paint applicator.
You are right, we must be very careful with it.
The pressure of this sprayer is not enough to break the skin
this is an airless sprayer that operates closer to 30psi, youre thinking of a pressure washer
I used mine during the summer. Don’t use it enough to always remember these steps. I love that this video is straight to the point, clear, short. Exactly what I need. Thanks

This video makes me wanna paint everything in sight
100% agree 😂
Definitely saving this for future use. I got this paint sprayer a few days ago but the directions confused me and I’m definitely a visual learner. Thank you!
5 years later and ur still helping folks 👍
Thank You for Everything, it’s been five years that I bought this machine and I watch your tape very useful, and I’m using it again five years later and I rewind and rewatch your tape. Very useful again thank you thank you again 👍👏👏👏

I just bought this sprayer a few weeks ago. It's still in the box. 😬
Would you mind sharing what brand/type of paint you used, and if you think I could paint brick with it?
my boss had this old paint sprayer laying around to which I replied 'hell yea I can use that'
knowing damn well I ain't never used one.
you da man.

Most companies do,…
This is great vid
I'm a newbe, this video is right on point . THANK YOU Austin !!
Great video Austin. No fluff, no garbage about unboxing and all that boring crap. To the point and all helpful. Thank you.
This was a life saver. I did not know where to put the paint.. I was trying to pour it into the tube until I saw your video..
Hey dude, just want to say thank you for the very detailed video on how to use this machine. I was nervous at first when I bought it but you made everything stupid simple, and now everything is coming together. God bless you.
By FAR the best video out there on this machine. Keep doing more!
Great tutorial! A must-watch for our business. Thank you.
This video is the most precise and quick video out there. Thank you for this!
Way better than the manufacturer video. Much more straight forward.
Man I just wanna say.. I almost never comment on videos.. but this video was truly helpful to me today.. no bs.. no nonsense.. made cleaning my equipment so easy. Thank you 🙌🏻

Good to see Graco didn't change much. I imagine I would then fill the sprayer up with the "Pump Armor".. good video, now for the masking!
great job young man...goes to show ya your never to young to teach an old man new tricks.
Thanks for taking your time in trying to help us all. You did a very nice job.
Nice refresher video for those of us who use this machine once every three years or so.
I need to open the box tomorrow and spray a complete 2br apartment. Prepped it today. I do flooring for a living. "Tank, download the Graco Project painter plus primer."- Done. Thankyou.
Thank you for making this. I got the gist of it from their fairly clear directions, but it always helps to see somebody go through the process.
You just saved my wife and i a trip to Graco university. Your awesome dude!
This is like the 4th or 5th video I've seen on that sprayer. Yours was the easiest to understand.
I absolutely love this video. So Informational and easy to follow steps. I appreciate it more than you know!! Thank you so much

Better than Greco’s instructional video. Thank you!

Thanks for watching!
Nah, watch the video then read the manual. The manual will make sense
We just bought a Graco - thanks Austin - for helping us understand set-up and clean-up.
I wish you would make a video on how do you properly clean the machine because you were the only one that I could understand and follow on how to use it
Thank you for this!! Makes so much more sense now than when I was reading the manual!
The Manuel can be a little rough when your just starting out.
WOW! Better than the instructions manual 👍🏻
This was a great video
Thank you , well spoken not annoying very informative just what I wanted to hear an see thank you -

just got one. made the directions simple. thanks
Great video! When looking for this after trying to understand the Grayco Quickstart guide😊
Love the simplicity of this video. I’m ready to use my Magnum now. Thanks!!!!
The instructions that it comes with makes it seem harder then it really is
thank you for the video. I decided to purchase this model and your video was helpful.
Perfect bro perfect, simple and to the point
Clear and concise video. Thank you.
Hey Austin, Thanks for the video, just bought one of these and I appreciate the detailed instructions, well done. ⚠️ As a cautionary note, you should please probably think about removing the helpful hand cleaning tip from the end of the section. Great video man! Very easy to follow and understand.
Great job explaining each step on the sprayer set up.
Best how to video on the X5 I’ve seen. Now I’m off to try mine out.
Good luck man. It saved me hours, on multiple occasions already!
Honestly best how to video I've seen in for ever you the man. Just don't start being like the rest and try talking about everything but thanks again
Thanks. That was a great quick down to the point explanation.
Great video, very informative!!
Thanks for the video!
Painting today! Wish us luck!
Thank you so much!! Headed to Lowe’s right now!!!
Thank ypu so much for the great tutorial. Ill be using these steps soon.
Dude, awesome video from start to finish. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video.
So if im using a 5 gallon bucket can I set the rig on a higher platform?
Right to the point, thanks for the great video
Really good video and the comments had good advice.
Man you made this so easy to understand. Thanks.
You don’t thin water based paint.
Great step by step video
Great video Austin just got my Grayco sprayer and by watching your video I feel a lot more comfortable now. Take care
Same here, As I get older, I don't have an easier time with enclosed directions so these UA-cam videos make it a whole lot easier.
Thank you so much! Very clear tutorial- so much better than using the manual! Appreciate it!
You were more informative than another video I watched great job. Two thumbs up 👍 👍
I appreciate that!
Thanks man, got yourself a new subscriber !
Thanks for this tip makes me more confident to try it on my own
excellent video. clear and concise directions. TY
Awesome video. Simple and clear!
Great how to video. I am not even going to read the directions. Just watch your video! Thanx Oh, and I subscribed.
Thanks for the video now I'm more comfortable using machine
Austin, Thank You for This How To.
Just got me one today. This video was perfect. Can't wait to put it to work

Josh Melton yeah! You can spray some super thick paint without having to thin it.
Austin Makes Stuff How many coats of paint did you spray with this black paint?
Josh Melton pretty much just two coats. Probably could have just done one with the black but because of the shiplap I had to hit the cracks.
Austin Makes Stuff How about with oil based paints? I just bought this rig. I have been painting off and on for many years and lately been getting lots of odd jobs. Thank you for this great tutorial!!

Awesome to know!
Thank you so much for posting! Much appreciated!
I ordered mine a few days ago. Thanks for the video
Hope you enjoy it!
Dude this was great!
very good directions austin.
Thank you Mr. Austin! :)
Thank you so much, great video now I’m ready to try my new graco magnum project paint sprayer
I
Eph289
Thx Austin for the videos appreciate it !
Bro thank you SO MUCH like FOR REAL DOG YOU ARE THE TRUTH
Good job . Helped so much! Thanks!!!!
you'll want to salvage what paint you can when purge it out before water comes through. its like half a quart of paint in the system.
Jon Larson yes I’ve definitely learned that one. Otherwise there is a lot of wasted paint.
Austin Makes Stuff how do you salvage it?
yup, will save you a few cups of paint
What are the steps I need to take to salvage the paint. Seems like there is still a lot of paint in the gallon when it starts chirping that’s it’s out of paint.

Thanks for this video - I just ordered one of these - Looking forward to giving it a workout.

Thanks Austin you helped me out a lot.
Excellent explanation 👍
Short and sweet! Thanks
Thanks i needed this, straight to the point
Thanks!
Thank you for this video!! Helped my husband and I!
