The Great Thing about this song is how, like John Fogerty, the Heart Throbs turn lyrics and musical style totally upon their heads. As "Bad Moon Rising" is a "bright shuffle" driving lyrics of Apocalyptic Doom, this relentlessly depressive lyric of disintegration within one's own self is propelled by a "girl band pop" sound trying to turn a depressive episode into a Top 40 Single...It works for me...Absolutely Brilliant Song...
"...and there's nothing more that i can do than to haunt this room without a view..." Love that on the 12" version! Thanks! (My ears are still ringing from seeing them play this live way back when.)
Thank you for posting this! This version is so much better than the one on the album--they should've used this version...it's their most transcendent moment as a band!
@eddiewillers1 Twas my intention-wasn't entirely literal about the single being the album version...I like both versions, but wanted to use this as my first ever UA-cam posting.
History's most UNDER-appreciated band. I STILL listen to them regularly and that in itself is just cool.
Rose's voice is so clear and lovely. I remember this from the early days.
I've got all three albums
Great band and listened to them today
This single sounds a little more 'raw' and totally fantastic

@@TheBugbear7 I played this album a couple thousand times. I was very depressed. The words and music helped, I guess.

I wish I had got to see them live.....

I saw the Heart Throbs several times in London back in the day, the first time on the same bill as The Primitives.
Fantastic!
Best debut single ever, anywhere from anyone.

#early days. When I got my mate andy to do the album design and when I worked my socks off to get them gigs. And now ,,,,
I've loved tis band for 25+ years!

I got it!
This sounds like the 1989 12" UK release - much harder sound than the album remix from the following year
Does anyone have the lyrics? Please post if it’s available
