Yes. You track your hours on an “experience tracker” which is an excel file created by the board you can find it on the BACB website. Your supervisor signs it and that is your proof.

The BACB is the Behavior Analyst Certification Board which is where you will find all your information related to the ABA field. Hope this helps.

They talk about going through certification in 2022 and when I read it, it looks like a lot of classes for the bcaba... do you know if anything changed since this video was posted? Is it still 5 classes? Thank you for the video.. extremely helpful!
Hi! I stumbled across your channel while researching RBT training! I just started my 40 hour training and have been watching all of your videos! In your "How to become a RBT" video you mentioned how you need to have a supervisor before you can take the exam. Do you need 5% supervised hours while you work in the field as an RBT? I am assuming your supervisor works for a different agency and you go to them? Do you continue to pay a supervisor every month while you work as an RBT? Sorry I'm confused! Thanks!
Hi! I was super confused too when I was where you are so don't worry haha. Do you need a supervisor while working in the field? The answer is yes, you should not have to pay for them as you will be working under them in the same agency not a different one. You pay for a supervisor (if you don't already have a supervisor which is the majority of us) before sitting for the RBT exam because you need to be registered under one in order to take it . You can also pay for an additional supervisor than just the one you work with if you are trying to accumulate hours at a faster pace to sit for your BCaBA. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
@@ABASource Makes sense! So I assume it is just a flat fee for a supervisor in order for you to take the exam since that's all you need them for? They don't actaully have to supervise you in person? And then once you get hired somehwere you work under a supervisor so you no longer need the one that you had for the exam if I am understanding correctly? Thank you!!
Now would that be considered a city or state job? Also, after someone receives this, will they be considered a license therapist or a certified therapist?
Do I have to fist because a RBT to be able to become a BCaBA I just finished my bachelors in psychology and just learning about this field thanks so much for the informative video
Hi! Like I mentioned in the video you need to collect hours working with a a client in order to sit for the BCaBA exam. You can do this either working as an RBT (getting paid) or by doing voluntarily under a supervisor. Thanks so much for this video, great stuff! In regards to the required hours, is that something you need to do as an RBT? I am about to finish up my bachelor's in Psych, and just now learned about this area so I assumed that I would start off as a BCaBA since I would have my bachelor's. Wondering now if I should go for RBT first, and then work on course completion for BCaBA... Thoughts?
Yes you need to complete your hours in order to sit for the BCaBA board exam!
Behavior Works awesome, thank you!
Can one go into BCABA WITHOUT RBT?
@@cinziaadannaebonine222 you can do that but you will still need your hrs. I think becoming an RBT would make it easier to gain those hr plus you get the experience. Just took a term off and will be studying to be rbt cert so it makes my goal for BCaBA easier for me to accomplish after i graduate. Hope that helps..Good luck
@@danyielescott I appreciate this as this was my questions too, about to get my RBT and hoping it’s going to be a great first step in the process of becoming a bcba
Can you please tell us bit about the salary packages and job opportunities for BCABA
Do the hours that we work as RBT count as restricted/unrestricted hours?
How do we provide the proof that we have finished the hours?
Yes. You track your hours on an “experience tracker” which is an excel file created by the board you can find it on the BACB website. Your supervisor signs it and that is your proof.
Hello, thank you for the great job You’ve done with all this information. I have a question. I’m a Grandma and a cancer survivor. I just came back to the workforce after being in remission for a few years by Doing a substitute teaching job because it’s flexible and gives me time to help picking up my grandkids., An Rbt told me that with my masters degree on Biostatistics, I could try to pursue a BCaBA using my masters plus taking extra credits. Where can I find what other credits I might need? Do you think it’s worth it? I really need some flexibility to keep helping my daughter with my grandkids. Please advise.
I wish I found this channel when I was an RBT! Finally finally finally! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hi Kyla! I’m here to lead the way!! YAYAY 🥰
Behavior Works that’s awesome! I know navigating that world can be difficult! So I appreciate you making this channel! I am still in the ABA world, hoping to sit for my BCBA exam by the end of the year! 🤞🤞🤞
Everyone around me is becoming a bcba and I’m the only one going for bcaba, it’s lonely and honestly debating if I should just go straight for bcba :( HELP lol
you can be explained how to become to BCaBA 2023 explaining the hours of 1300hrs total restricted and unrestricted. Thanks
Thank you Anna, I have diploma of education assistant of 60 credential and I want to be a behavioural analyst so which corses would be next toward go to behavioural analyst
Good evening Linda, how are you? I am so bless to come across your blog. I am interested in becoming a BCABA, but I am confused because of the other titles that comes along with it such as ABA, RBT, BACB.
I’ve earn a BA degree in Criminology. My Question is, What is the first step? & Did u have to earn all these certifications RBT, ABA, etc.?
Hi, ABA is a short term for the field Applied Behavioral Analysis. RBT is a registered behavior technician which a certification through the BACB to work in the field of ABA. The BACB is the Behavior Analyst Certification Board which is where you will find all your information related to the ABA field. Hope this helps.
Hi I’m new to the RBT world and I’m loving your channel. I noticed your from Florida and I’m from Florida to I would like to become an BCABA but I’m having trouble with picking a school I was curious what school you went through
I look my RBT online through Florida institute of technology, but for the BCABA program it was to expensive, did you get your bachelors in ABA or did you just take the course in ABA after getting a bachelors in another field of study .
Hi Chelsea thank you I’m glad you found my channel! I got my Bachelors in Psychology at Florida International University and took the ABA course sequence they offer in order to sit for the BCaBA board exam.
Behavior Works
Awesome thank you for the information. I love your channel by the way. Good Luck on your upcoming exam!
I just started looking into this career so I'm confused about how you would go from a BCaBA to a BCBA?
BCaBA is for someone with a bachelors degree, and BCBA is for someone with a masters degree. Higher position. :)
i really want to be a behavioral analysis profiler or animal behaviorist but i don’t really know where to start my education.. any advice? i’m currently in high school if there’s anything i can do before college love ur vid

Hi, I love your videos very helpful.

Hi, my highest qualification is MBA - HR, (From INDIA). I worked in IT Industry and took a break. I am in the USA now and I recently Started teaching Autistic Kids in an elementary school and I really love the job. I would like to continue my career in helping autistic kids, could be teaching or any other way, and I would like to know which certifications are good for me that might help me do better at my job. Apologies for the lengthy message…
On your final experience form did you supervisor make sure you completed 50% unrestricted hours as well? Direct hours are a given but the company the I work gives me about 2 hours of undirected hours a month if that.
Hi! I have a question: Does the time you spend in class doing your required coursework count as unrestricted hours?
Unfortunately not:(
Hi Anna, thanks for the entertainment and the info. What's the cheapest BCABA training available? Any free programs you're aware of? Thanks, Charles Mosquera,, Realtor.
Do you have to get your bachelor first then transition or can you do both at the same time
Hi there, I'm a little confused in regards to how finding a supervisor works. So after I've found a supervisor, I would have to pay for them to supervise me correct? will they be inviting me to their scheduled cases?
Hi Kadelin! If you're speaking in regards to collecting your hours to sit for the BCaBa exam then yes. They will plan times to meet with you either in person or via video chat.
How long did it take you to obtain your BCaBA certification overall? :)
Hi, do you thi k i could take the VCS for bcaba while completing a bachelors? The university that offers the vcs states that you can minor in aba while getting your bachelors and i wanted to know if i did that could still sit for the bcaba exam?
Hi, I see this video was afew years ago. So how did the exam testing etc go? I pray you`re now in the desired field of your choice and enjoying it. 😇🙏🙏
Thank you for this valuable information. I do have a question though I am completely confused with my states requirements. I am graduating with a B.S in psychology. Do I have to become a RBT 1st? Or an ABA?
Hi! I have two degrees from North Dakota State University and I am scared because i dont think NDSU is ABAI accredited. If I want to become a BCaBA do I have to go to a school that is ABAI accredited and complete another bachelor degree? or how does that work. Help!
My BA degree is not from America. So i need IELTS 7? This video really helped. Thank you
Hi, thanks for the info! I have a bachelor's degree. Do I need to complete a graduate degree before I take the exam?
Hi Ann. How much did it cost you to get the course work done for the bcaba?
Probably around 5k I would like to say 🤔
So I finished my bachelors in clinical psychology I’m now working on my early childhood development education masters, and I’m also working on becoming an RBT, after my masters would I have to work towards becoming a BCaBA or can I skip to working on becoming BCBA?
Hi! I have a bachelor's in Psych, I also live in FL. I was looking at the bcab website and they have the requirements for both bcaba and bcba certification. They talk about going through certification in 2022 and when I read it, it looks like a lot of classes for the bcaba... do you know if anything changed since this video was posted? Is it still 5 classes? Thank you for the video.. extremely helpful!
I have a Bachelors degree in early childhood a ministration. How would I find classes online to become a Babca online?
Hi Ana , can you please do a video on how to write progress notes ?
Thank you!!
You got it!
So unless you are willing to work for free the answer to your question is yes you need to be a RBT first!
Good question, Sivana! I also just found out about this field and will finish my bachelors in psychology next June💗
@@ABASource do i have to be a rbt or can I just be a behavior technician? I am looking into bcaba as well but I am currently a BT not an rbt ..please & thankyou

Hello:) I’m currently a psychology student and want to become a bcaba. My university says that you can’t get a credential in California. Is that true??😩 How can I become one in California. I don’t want to spend years of time and money on my degree for nothing😖
Do u mind letting me know what program u attended?
Hello, so I am still confused about the coursework, I just grad from my bachelors degree, and now I want to become a BCABA, but I still dont know what I am looking at, is this like a short coursework ? or is this like a master degree of 2 years? I live in Texas, and all the ABA coursework I see is master degree to become BCABA.
I s the BCaBA a national certificate and do you need to register with your state after?
Can one be a BCBA with a master's degree (special education) without being an RBT or BCABA? What is the process, please?
Do you have any videos on school for the BcaBA or BCBA program?
Why’s school did you attend where you can do all classes in one semester?
I have a quick question. I have a masters degree in Human Behavior and was looking at Arizona State Universities ABA classes which conclude with a Grad cert. Is this the same as the sequence classes discussed? Thank you
Hi there ! I don’t know about that one in particular but it sure sounds like it ! :)
I am 19 yrs old and currently doing my rbt training just after my grade 12.. how can i apply for bcaba
What school did you go too I want to complete in one semester 😭
Thank you so much Anna!!! Excellent information as always! Just one question, it would be the same requeriments to become a BCBA? If different, are you planning to make a video about it?
Hello Aglay! It’s different, I am definitely making a video about it. Give me two weeks at the most. It’s coming up on my video cue 😜
@@ABASource Thanks again!!!
If we are taking a semester off of school, can we still accrue fieldwork hours during the semester off?

Help! Which institutions provide Behavior Analysis Course work online? I already have my bachelors
Hi again,,, another question
The company I work for has all my hours on file , and I can collect my hours from the company restricted and unrestricted?
Keep up the good work...
Yes absolutely:) as long as you have taken your first course of you first course in your aba sequence!
can you provide the school name for the courseworker clases
Bcaba can work remotely?
I have a degree in psychology, do I have to start from RBT to become BCABA?
And which schools can I go to in order to complete a behavioral analytic course work?
Hello! Any tips to accruing more unrestricted hours?
I have a Bachelor's already. Am I basically wasting my time going for my RBT course?
hello! im so happy there is a channel for rbts, bcabas, bcbas! however, i have a bachelors degree in psychology. I want to start off as a bcaba. do you know any good institutions that have the classes? then eventually i want to pursue my masters in aba and becoming a BCBA. hope this makes sense.
also do you think it is more wise to start RBT with a degree or bcaba?
I would highly encourage everyone to start out as a RBT first. I can't imagine not being an RBT and just taking the role of an analyst first. There would be so much to learn!
Are there online schools you can recommend for the BCaBA i heard you said it can be done in a short amount of time. But when looking at Florida tech they said 16 months. I got my bachelors in psych in 2011 and looking at another routes to take and further my career.

Behavior Works thanks so much for the response? Did you take the BCaBA exam yet?
Justin Urbano no I will be in May!
Behavior Works gotcha! Good luck, you got this! I’m planning on taking mine in August so I’ll definitely ask you how the exam went!

Hi!! I know this video is a few months old now so I am wondering if youll even see this message but I am currently in a masters program and I am collecting my hours to become a BCBA probably some time mid next year. I just got my RBT certificate but that really didnt change much for me I still have the same responsibilities and stuff. Would it be worth it to get my BCaBA in the meantime?!? And can the hours im accruing towards my BCBA count for BCaBC or do I have to collect separate hours? That would suck!! Does that make sense? Hope it does thank you!!!
