- Here is this year's installment of the Christmas Bridge video. Even though it's still a temporary setup, I was able to introduce some scenery this year. The quaint town with the carolers at one end carries the Christmas theme, while a construction crew works on some tunnels at the other (which will hopefully be completed in time for NEXT year's setup). The whole array with the village and track at the top of the stairs takes only a few minutes to setup, including the connection to the turnaround under the bed, while everything else remains in place throughout the three months around Christmas (Nov, Dec, Jan).
To see last year's video, go to: • Big Boy on Christmas B...
What a great idea. I love the whole thing.
terrific neat idea....
I think you did a spectacular job. The winter backdrop and snow effect are good to.
Great use of the stairway space. Any plans for this Christmas? I hope Santa brings me the video camara I wan't.... My kids just can't take a hint and my wife isn't much help either. LOL
Nice work. You sure cut it close under the bed. What did you cuyt the bridge out of?
@MartyLJ57 I made the bridge out of half inch MDF. I cut the pattern from a computer printout I made, then cut 1-8th inch grooves into the pieces, inserted some thinner scraps with glue into the grooves, curved and clamped the pieces to the width that I needed and hoped for the best. Had I known it was going to work so well, I would have spent more time on it. If I started with wider stock (instead of 4 feet) I could have gotten the curve to match the O42 track. Maybe next time.
@MartyLJ57 Show them my videos. They're all shot with a Canon still camera that also takes video. Nothing HD or anything, but it's great for this level of shooting. As for this year, the tunnels won't get completed in time, so I'll end up with a Christmas village over where the construction is taking place. I never took this setup down all year, so I'm tired of the construction stuff anyways. Look back here in December, I'll probably post something then.
