I wish they offered 4-corner air suspension on the GX for those that want a super smooth-riding overland vehicle. I wonder how much the AVS makes up for it. Other than that, I think it is a home run.

On the Lexus site it says it does. So poor mpg on premium.

Adaptive suspension isn’t available on Luxury just the Luxury Plus and both Over Trail models.
Adaptive variable suspension is not available on luxury trim.

The old V8 was so weak in the GX460.
You are better off buying the BMW X7 for another 10-15K. Towing is 7,000 LBs, it is significantly larger on interior, faster, more powerful, smoother, more quiet, more refined, more luxurious.
I am on the debating between the two. I agree with your reasons why to get the X7, but would get much better mpg. The X7 doesn't tow as much and built for pavement only. It honestly comes down to lifestyle. This certainly trumps the Defender for me.
@@Steven-xj2rf yes but the X7 toss up to 7500 pounds. That’s pretty impressive and more than adequate for most tow set ups.
@@flapflapflap agreed. That is why it is on my list. 7500lbs is my sweet spot. The X7 would look best in my garage next to our M3, X3, and X5. I would be replacing a 2023 Colorado Trailboss. Interestingly this GX550 doesn't have much more power than the 4 cylinder in the Colorado. The L3B in the Colorado has 310hp and 430lb of torque running 87 octane.
This doesn’t compete with the X7 tho, it’s more on par with the X5 in terms of size and at 9000lbs, the towing on this is much better
