Belkin's New MagSafe iPhone Mount is PERFECT for FaceTime on Apple TV

Belkin this week released a new iPhone Mount with MagSafe, which is designed to attach to a television for use with the Apple TV 4K. The MagSafe Mount lets you use your iPhone as a camera for your ‌Apple TV‌ on FaceTime calls.

Got mine in the mail today, really like it! High quality, metal construction with rubber in the right places, and it's heavy. Been using FaceTime on Apple TV for a while now, but this makes it so much easier and better.

question: how is the microphone quality for the call? you usually sit a couple meters away from your tv, is the voice still transmitted clearly enough? 🤔
also i like the idea of using shareplay with this, but won't the other caller hear the audio of the movie/show you are watching on the tv? 😅

This is the perfect mount to use continuity camera on the Apple Studio Display! It covers the poorer quality webcam and lets you use your better iPhone with very sturdy attachment. So glad I found this version of the iPhone mount as the smaller Belkin mount only fits MacBooks thin screens.

I’ve been using this for a month now and I’m surprised how many ways I can use it. Obviously it’s meant for a mount for a tv but I also bring this with me in my bag and use it as a MagSafe Stand for watching some videos and something that I recently discovered is that it can be use as a Gimbal!

But where is the microphone during calls? Is it still using the mic on the phone that's like a mile away from you? Does it pickup any sound coming from the TV speakers since that's where sound will be coming from now and not the phone? Would have liked to have seen some deeper investigation from MacRumors

I’d had absolutely no issue using the desktop version folded up in front of my tv. Then it is also a better angle.

1. Can it charge your phone through magsafe?
2. Can you join zoom calls or other video call platforms than facetime?
3. Can you have a phone permanently attached, without having to unlock and interact the phone constantly or something?
