- deadmau5 - Professional Griefers (instrumental) That's just awesome!
In this world of ever evolving genres, sounds and trends, the word phenomenon is rarely if ever used, unless of course you are one of the hottest talents in the world of electronic music. His name may conjure up images of a lifeless rodent, but the Canadian-born self-confessed techno geek otherwise known as deadmau5 (pronounced 'dead mouse') punches like a heavyweight. On September 22, the Grammy-nominated, Juno Award-winning electronic music sensation who has racked up more than 5,000,000 hits on MySpace will unleash his second album for ULTRA Records-titled FOR LACK OF A BETTER NAME.
deadmau5-born Joel Zimmerman-is a new breed of electronic dance music star. He has managed to break rank in an industry where most of the major players have at least a decade (sometimes two) of stardom behind them. Having had a meteoric rise in the last 18 months, he has gone from near obscurity to becoming an in-demand producer, innovative electronic live performer and the number one selling artist on Beatport (the world's leading online dance music store).
Now he commences the next chapter in his world domination. On For Lack Of A Better Name, the follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2008 debut Random Album Title, deadmau5 takes a different turn by incorporating various styles of music into multi-blocks of songs. The album includes a new and improved version of his club favorite "Ghosts 'N' Stuff" featuring added vocals by Pendulum's Rob Swire. There is also the charismatic "Hi Friend!" and downtempo track "Soma," also with a block of huge club tracks "Lack Of A Better Name," "The 16th Hour" and the huge exclusive "Strobe." His sound transcends various genres of music, flirting with techno and minimal beats while hinting at tech house, trance and electro, showcasing his diverse tastes and talents presented throughout the album's 10 songs. This true long player swings between a hard drum line cadence of the arena-styled opening techno driven track of "FML" and manipulates the listener through till the end where it signs off with a multi-layered, beautifully sweeping soft synth, kick drum and movie score production of the final track "Strobe."
His live stage show pushes the envelope of dance music performances as we know it. Often erroneously referred to as a DJ, technically deadmau5 does not actually mix two records together. For his live show he uses Ableton Live (a creative software sequencer/composition tool) and a Lemur, the futuristic touch screen controller. Using these tools he fuses loops and elements recreating his productions in the live environment. Not to be forgotten is his trademark tailor-made giant Mau5head. Complete with powerful strobe lighting eyes, it sends his fans into a frenzy during his spellbinding sets.
The deadmau5 name, which came from an incident where a mouse crawled into Joel's computer (Dead Mouse was too long for a site login name so he abbreviated it to be "deadmau5"), is also fast becoming a recognized global brand. In development is a unique, cool clothing line collaboration with YO, some in-depth technical work with Pioneer and the innovative deadmau5 iPhone application which brings the Mau5 experience direct to the mobile world.
His Mau5trap label has sold over 100,000 units on Beatport in the last two years, with over 110 licenses, three game syncs and 12 exclusives. His single "Not Exactly" hit Beatport's top spot for six weeks and still retains its status as the biggest-ever selling release on the site. Overall, his productions have hit #1 on Beatport no less than 14 occasions.
His productions are a regular feature with Pete Tong on the Radio One Essential Selection. His Essential Mix was one of the most popular in its history. Debuting on Radio One his singles "Hi Friend," "Brazil" and "I Remember" with Kaskade have gone on to become huge hits, while his remix of Energy 52's "Café Del Mar" on AATW has become one of the biggest remixes of the year. "Ghosts N Stuff" -- written especially for Pete's show --hit the Beatport top spot after a world exclusive on Radio One.
This accomplished young artist has managed to earn himself an impressive string of awards in a very short space of time. The list is long is still growing...

So glad there's an instrumental version. I just think it was perfect the way it was, songs like the veldt dont happen often where the vocals added later make it better
THANK GOD.
Completely agree.
dude this so awesome it is rocking my ear buds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my.....god
THIS IS AWESOME
Good lord epic description
Couldn't agree any more, friend-o!
Excellente.
WOW!!!!

We've just swooced right into this video.
I like the sound of the broken pieces!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice
Now I can't stop thinking about that. This video isn't instrumental now. Thanks. T^T
With Gerard: Pretty good
Without Gerard: Perfection
waving dem hands in the air.
I just bought the album and it has 13 tunes, and professional griefers is on there with vocals.
If you listen closer, you will know that the people only talk while the music is playing. It's a part of the song.
lets hope so
and this is the reason why Deadmau5 released two version of professional griefer on Beatport (and iTune?), one with vocal mix and the other is the instrumental version :)
badass kitty
Meowingmau5!
2:48 is the bessssst!!!
all deadmau5 songs should be instrumental who even pays attention to lyrics with this music
Herd the song when it was leaked.
Go too look it up after all this time.
Have too type in "instrumental" too hear this fabulous tune.
Feels bad man.....
Real bat man......

I AM THE KNIGHT!!!!!
WILLY WONKA YOU'RE ALIVE! And awesome for listening to Deadmau5.
I don't mind the version with Gerard but I love this version a lot better. First heard it on his DVD of the Toronto show and must have listened to this version about 30 times in a day and a half love the instrumental version
are you sure because a few days ago on youtube i found a playlist called "album title goes here" with only 9 or 10 songs and professional griefers was on it without vocals. They either made their own playlist or uploaded another album and wrongly named it album title goes here.. but they had it mixed soo well and all the songs titled so it really looked like a real album
ooh :O
0:07 best part
GERARD OR NO GERARD, STILL FUCKING AWESOME.
This is exactly what he said...
So, am I the only one who likes this version AND the vocal version equally?
Watch me swooce right in!
its a difficult affirmation to make...
1:06 im with you man, instrumental its fucking awesome
For those of you looking for the part from Skooks 2, heres where it starts:
5:26
The instrumental version is not really available anywhere, other than Beatport. The vocal version is on > album title goes here
That drop at 0:23 is the way is should've been for all the version tbh
I like how everyone likes Dubstep much more than anything else, even though Dubstep is literally full of hipsters yelling about how mainstream everything is, and is just literally just "WUB WUB WUB" played at different pitches.
Meowingtons!
this should be the official theme song of CRISIS Equestria!
Personally, I like the version with Rob Swire in it better, his vocals in the song sent shivers down my spine they were so awesome. I've probably listened to that song around 50 times in the past month.
That, and he's kind of obsessed with his own cat, which is the one on this cover and the cover of his upcoming album. :p
@ShadowMaster680, THIS is the regular version of the song
he played it first at MineCon last year
I still hear gerard in my head singing xD
Does anybody know where I can get a download for this?
Be careful listening to this while driving on the interstate during rush hour....
Can u buy this on iTunes 3 the version without vocal
Hey, you should post another comment, that one looked pretty good!
I would kick my laptop when i listen to this, HOLY SHIT
BEST PART 2:37
Ain't nobody got time for that.
lmao.. in a good way, maybe gave me those sensation cuz i was @ office ahahah
It's super sad that the break at 2:07 was never used in an official full version
Ikr
This is the original, since he played this first before the version with Gerard featuring.
He put it on the limited edition
You have to change it to 720p yourself :P
No but you can on Beatport! :D
HOLY SHIT THATS A LONG DESCRIPTION
where i can get this song O..,O
:D
oh
Didn't he first play this live at the Nokia lumia live launch?
This should have stayed an instrumental track.. not sure what he was thinking throwing Gerard in there..
anyway to buy this version only?
LOL actually no. It was introduced a while back. My friends heard this at his Chicago concert in October so. I'm pretty sure he has been playing this throughout his whole tour. Just like Maths, which had been played for about 2 years until he released it ;)
Well not this exactly, but you get the idea lol
This is the Mewington Hax 2k11 version?
Obviously it was if Deadmau5 invited Gerard to sing in it.
Why couldn't he put this on the album.. :/
After listening to this I Am Immortal. I sympathize for no Human. You are what you Create! [ Abomination]
why the fuck is this not available in America?
fucking make me
Longest. Video. Description. Ever.
Willy wonka,Like you know music. You listen to oompaloompas singing about chewing bubble gum.

@absoluteis this is the original. There is a one without Gerard.
THIS IS MY MINECRAFT PVP SONG XD
Gerard - not awesome with his voice drowning out the beat
No Gerard - fucking awesome
I wonder what their saying!!!!! :D
Its just sounds like chanting

nope, he played it first at Lollapalooza however you spell it
you did not read what i wrote very carefully, i can tell. The point was, oh nevermind, its no use...
give your head a shake. theres 13 tracks
ah ok haha
*Gerard
So? Just because you have an opinion doesn't change the fact ^^ Besides, people DO do that with everything, and as it IS messed up, it's life XD
Orpheusftw.
Orpheusftw brought me here.
this song wasn't ment to have vocals
Not studio version
Thumbs up if you can just barley hear people in the background...
I am lucky to have first heard the song this way instead with the bullshit lyrics (/_-)
Am I the only one who likes the regular version of this song, too? I admit, I like the instrumental version a bit better, but Gerard Way adds something to the song that isn't in this version.
Definitely not! This displays more of the work deadmau5 put in but the vocals add an awesome quality as well.
4 people have no ears or they don't know about music
Is that supposed to be good or bad? It doesn't quite make sense.
How about no.
