In the end, there's no wrong way of making music the way you want your vision of your song to be, I may have had only a years worth of experience so I'm still new to the game but from experimenting, lots of self teaching and screaming to yourself, you'll persevere and music production will be a thing of habit
As a music producer, I feel your pain. It took me so long to learn how to make music. It taught me how to recreate his chords, the way he makes his songs. I officially started music production and I'm now getting better.
I like this with and without the vocals, it's like two different songs, you can't really say which is better. I really like gerard, like, you don't even know how obsessed I am, but this song without vocals sounds really cool too.

In all technicality, this song is the original. The vocals were layered on afterwards. However, the version with vocals was the released one. I love being a smartass.
I dunno why but the actual percussion and the synths in this version compared to the final vocal are totally different. This version is so much harder and kicks so much more ass.
The song has an entirely different character without the lyrics. It feels heavier somehow. The chorus melody cuts so much deeper without the lyrics. But I get that energy from knowing the lyric isn't there when I know how the lyric usually goes. I'm noticing it's absence. So I'll never know how this feels instrumental ever. Urgh

Seriously, I've got a whole friggen music video in my head about this. 0:00 Camara near the ground, as everyone rushes out of spawn, before the camera slowly pans over to lucio's feet, just standing still and tapping to the beat. 0:15 He uses speed boost, and blasts the fuck out of there, from here on, it's just a back-and-forth montage of lucio going real fast and parkouring, and his team fighting the enemy head-on, with intermittent flashes showing his ult growing slowly. 0:45 Things start getting a bit intense, lucio's team is on point A, and are having trouble capping it, not because they're dieing, but simply because the enemy team is defending pretty well. The intensity just keeps growing as the camera switches back and forth to lucio going faster and faster, and his team struggling to hold down their position. 1:15 Lucio busts in through the entrance to point A, and uses speed boost, and his team just go berzerk, dashing around and just out-maneuvering the enemy, slowly overwhelming them, and eventually securing point A. The whole time this is happening, everything is stylized like a rave party, the light flashes from their gun fire acting like strobe lights. 1:45 Everything goes silent for a moment, before the process seams to repeat itself, lucio's team rushing off to point B while lucio himself just sort've dance-shuffles along. 2:01 Things get even worse for lucio's team, as the enemy is now defending with everything they've got, and have completely impeded progress to point B, locking them down in a choke point. It is completely impossible to find a copy of the CD single of this (and thus the instrumental version) anywhere, including but not limited to ebay and Amazon. I ended up using Discogs to order one from Finland. It was a goddamn CD-RW with the artwork inkjet printed and badly cropped to fit into the case. $26. yeah. And it's just the regular version, not the impossible-to-find Instrumental. Welp, this isn't FLAC or WAV, but at least I have this version. Thanks for uploading.

It is completely impossible to find a copy of the CD single of this (and thus the instrumental version) anywhere, including but not limited to ebay and Amazon. I ended up using Discogs to order one from Finland. It was a goddamn CD-RW with the artwork inkjet printed and badly cropped to fit into the case. $26. yeah. And it's just the regular version, not the impossible-to-find Instrumental. Welp, this isn't FLAC or WAV, but at least I have this version. Thanks for uploading.
