The cute red and green men from the traffic lights are special, because they‘re the men from east Germany 😊 back when the country was divided, the two parts had different traffic lights men and it’s been kept that way so in a way they‘re like historic landmarks 😌

Hi Lily, I was so happy to hear that you were going to Berlin, and I also love Uniqlo, so extra happy to see this vlog! I first went to Berlin for a student trip in 1979 and have been 3 more times over the years - I would love to live there!
I was in Berlin this summer and also visited Kassel, where I lived for a year in 1980-81, and I'm sure I saw the Ampelmännchen there, so I think they are in at least some other parts of Germany.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of your Berlin content - you do the best reels!

The traffic light man with the hat (Ampelmännchen) was traditionally found in East Germany. So in theory you should be able to tell whether you’re in the Eastern/Western part of Berlin from the pedestrian traffic lights - I think it’s a bit mixed today though. Anyway, loved the vlog!

I'm a fairly new customer of Uniqlo - mainly because they have no stores in Scotland, yet! It's opening on Princes St in Edinburgh in Spring '24 - can't wait. I think it's also opening in Glasgow in '24 - can't believe they're not already here!
I have bought one or two things from them but they charge for returns which puts me off a bit as I have to order a couple of sizes to check for fit.

If you come visit with your family, you should stay in Prenzlauerberg (it's the neighborhood next to the Soho House), it's probably an area with the highest density of cool playgrounds in the world, haha, super kid friendly.

I love uniqlo, but as someone living in Arctic norway you do not need bulky layers or heat tech. You just need thin merino wool layers close to your body. It's all we wear with normal clothes over. Wool is a good natural material. It does not ich either. You're welcome.

The UK has some of the most expensive child care in Europe. Part of the reason I didn't want to stay there after studying.
