      As a person who has used GIMP, don't use it
      Rather use an art program like Autodesk sketchbook or something

    This is probably one of the best tutorials I've ever seen. Not on just aseprite, but anything ever. Such a clear demonstration of all the components in a well-ordered manner. Plus the custom art in the program just makes this incredible.

    It's amazing that this tutorial is STILL completely relevant, Aseprite hasn't really changed much and this video has helped me a lot to create my own sprites ^^

I think you should do more comprehensive tutorials like that for Aseprite, as well as other graphic tools and anything you feel competent at really.     Having exclusively used GameMaker's sprite editor in the past, I really like what I'm seeing here! Management in GameMaker was a real pain, and not having layers was a bit taxing, but I also wasn't interested in using Photoshop for the same reasons you mentioned, especially the animation runaround. I'll definitely be trying this out!

    I got aseprite about a year ago from a friend's suggestion but the interface was just too overwhelming.
    I didn't know where to start, what palette to choose, etc so I just gave up on it.
    Now I regret not seeing your video sooner, I feel so motivated to do some pixel animations now.

    Wow! This is a really good tutorial, my mum is buying Aseprite for me for Christmas, I’m planning on using it to make sprites and tiles and all that good stuff for RPG maker 2K3 which I got recently. I plan on making a Yume Nikki fangame with it, let’s hope it goes well!
