It works!! The hardest part was to start cutting on my expensive mattress. Not because the actual cutting was difficult, it just seemed like the wrong thing to do. I ordered a piece Talalay Latex foam which is a 100% natural product and feels so much nicer than memory foam (which I have never liked). After the latex foam got here, I did exactly what they showed in the video and I now have a new comfortable mattress. AMAZING. If you have a king size mattress and one of you likes a firm bed and one likes a softer bed, you can order a twin size piece of latex in each of your preferred firmness levels. Just want to thank the guys who made this video.

That's looks super easy! I was just looking at new beds and this looks like a great alternative to spending $2000 on a new one. And it's more environmentally friendly. Less garbage.
I inherited a very expensive sealy pillowtop from my neighbor who buys a new one every few years. It has the sagging foam issue. This is exactly what it needs.
Plus as you age you may want the comfort layer to be softer or firmer than in the past. It's so easy to change out the latex topper to a softer/firmer version for much less than a new mattress.

This looks great my only thought is why is the zipper around the top and not the bottom of the mattress? it seems like there is a possibility of either an uncomfortable noticeability at the zipper or a potential for failure from sitting on the mattress or scooting in and out of bed etc. Also wanted to know if you have this system available for my short queen used in my rv?
I have been looking to make my own bed forever. Why didn't I find out about this earlier? You need to advertise. I'm going to rip apart my bed this weekend.

As an engineer who has gone through multiple beds in the past 2 years I became suspicious of exactly what your site has said. I've been looking for places that will sell me an old-school style inner spring cotton pillow top without the crap foam that they are obviously using to screw people over, but now I am fascinated by your excellent idea of doing it yourself. I may do this with your products and if it works I'll do it for family members as well. Great business idea here I hope it's legit.

Will storing a Sealy double sided pillow top mattress on its side for ten years ruin the springs? It dips now. The edges were fine but after sleeping on them for a few days, they dip too. Does that sound like the springs or the foam?
if you start with a 10" mattress and remove all the layers and put in 3" latex do you still have a 10" mattress in the end? And why not put the layers that were still ok back on top of the new latex?
Ken, What are your thoughts on doing this with an pocket spring coil mattress? Or do you think that the latex would provide what the pocket springs offer (individualized support), so perhaps instead using the old school innerspring would offer a better base?
Well here’s something I’d thought too until I saw lots of good mattresses being thrown away at landfills. It was appalling as how we discard value to something that’s basically an investment. Like cars, people depreciate mattresses just because they’re used. When I used to peel them for scrap, I felt guilty about throwing away all that new foam underneath. In short, reuse and repurpose. If people buy used cars with new tires, what’s wrong with a mattress with a new cover?

For someone your size you need either a very firm spring with medium to firm latex on top or best way it go with an all latex design. It's more expensive but it's a one and done. No more visits to the local mattress store.

I just ripped open my $1500 mattress which was sold to me as a Latex Hybrid - the Latex was about 1/4 inch!!

What kind of scissors or cutting tool do you use for trimming the edges of the latex topper?
