The only other woman I can think of who was still killing it at 78 in terms of power was Shirley Bassey. Obviously not as high because she's a mezzo, but she was still doing justice to her music and using a very heavy chest sound

Queen Latifah didnt even bother to approach the mic. She knows she cant compete with these ladies, so she just gracefully stays put. I loved hearing Fantasia SING in her lower register, very beautiful and w/ all the amount of runs and the extras she always put on. Yolanda Adams was just class as well as Jennifer. They just add some adlibs and that was about it. Miss Patti did the job like it was supposed to. 👏👏👏👏👏

She doesn’t use her chest as much as she did in her younger yrs . Yes she uses her head voice more now days . Her Chest voice I believe isn’t as strong as it use to be but she still uses it when she needs too I’m sure . It just depends on the day and time of day and weather etc . She protects her instrument . She knows she doesn’t have to prove anything anymore lol and still shooting out high notes better than young folk
I think the difference with Jennifer is control from the other side ......I think she's more free. I always see her belittled for her volume and I always felt like she was told to pull back and now she's letting that voice fly
