      For real! I was a screamer in high school, and while difficult, once you get the nack for it, at least for me, it just happened naturally. The pedal tones though, those just sounded unreal. I wouldn't even know how to do those that low.

      @@RJ12347 how would he fake it? I have tried it some time ago, and if you let loose your lips, it can go deeper but i've never managed to get actual NOTES out of my trumpet.

    The range of the trumpet is about 5 octaves then. Noted. Will make sure to use that full range in my next piccolo trumpet sonata.

      teoretical range of the trumpet is 10 octaves. In practise the maximum is about 8 octaves.

      Yeah - most (well I'd imagine most) trumpet educational programs use pedal tone exercises in warmup routines at some point. Other than demonstration and some jazz you don't often hear them because we want to make trombones think they serve a purpose.

    My teacher always said, practice the long low tones, to help you develop the high range.

    I respect this guy. He can play extremely high and low, which is exceedingly difficult, brass players (especially fellow trumpets) will understand what I mean. True talent.

      piccolo trumpet: a standard Bb or A trumpet except the lower end of your range is chopped off (rather than range moving up an octave) and the high notes still require exceptional air support

      I was wondering the same thing! Big fat accurate low notes ! I can t play pedal as fat nor as accurate and not as low as him, 😰 I guess pedals really helps the lips to be more focused if you practice them everyday

    As a 1st trumpet player for a good chunk of my life, these low octaves are making me realize how much I wasted not being able to hit those possible notes. Good stuff dude. There's always someone that makes you say well shit. I didn't even know that was possible

    The low notes are hell and the high notes are heaven, playing the low notes is absolute hell and the high notes send you to heaven.
