The Peloton Tread+ is a high-end slat belt treadmill with Peloton content and classes. It is designed similar to a Woodway treadmill with rubber slats that run horizontally along a reinforced platform. There is no cushioning in the deck and it does not fold up, but the rubber slats are designed to absorb shock while they move underfoot. It has a massive 32” touchscreen attached to the front to showcase Peloton’s vast array of classes and trainers. While the Tread is certainly different and cool, it has a steep asking price. Some of our favorite features include:
Treadmill Features
Slat Belt: 67” L x 20” W
The belt is constructed of horizontal rubber slats that move along the tread deck. The slats provide a solid footing and nice toe-off. However, there is no cushioning in the deck other than what is provided by the rubber slats.
Motor: 2 HP AC
This is less horsepower than comparable models, but it is an AC system rather than a DC which is what most treadmills use. The Tread is powerful and does not lag when adjusting speed or incline.
Slat-belt: 59 aluminum slats with rubber overmold, on ball bearing rail system
We love the slat design! Peloton claims the slats are nearly indestructible and will last the life of the Tread. They feel sturdy and supportive underfoot.
32” 1080p HD touchscreen
This eye-catching touchscreen is crisp and vibrant. Classes and content are easy to see and the touchscreen is navigable. There’s a little wobble in the screen when running high speeds because it hovers above the Tread rather than sit embedded in a console. With less support, we noticed more screen rocking.
Speed and Incline knobs with jump buttons
Situated conveniently inside the handlebars is a speed knob on the right and an incline knob on the left. These are a nice size and feel good in your hand. It is intuitive to spin the knob forward to increase and pull it back to decrease. A jump button in the center of each knob will take you up to the next even number. However, this isn’t as precise as preset buttons and it can be tricky to find the right level each time.
There is no quick Jump button to go down -- and no automation within the program, so you have to manually make all speed and incline adjustments.
Bluetooth audio-ready for external devices
Yes to Bluetooth headphones! The Tread easily syncs with personal headphones so you can listen to the classes.
0-12.5mph Speed
This is a good speed range and should offer plenty of speed for most runners.
0-15% Incline
The Tread feels sturdy when inclined and the motor pivots the deck up and down smoothly. There is no decline, which is unfortunate.
Free Mode
A free mode button on the control bar disengages the Tread belt from the motor so you can manually push the belt along with your feet. This is a challenging exercise and will kick your heart rate up in a hurry! It also engages more upper body strength, so it’s great for full body workout.
Peloton Subscription required for all content
There isn’t really any preprogrammed content on the Tread. It is designed to be used with the Peloton app. If you don’t plan to use Peloton subscription, this is not the best machine. There are cheaper, better options out there if you are not a Peloton devotee. - Спорт
My mind is blown, a review that actually measures the belt noise. Holy.. !!! Sub'ed.
Thanks to all your vids, I chose and purchased a Nordictrack 1750 last month... But due to your quality vids, with your terrific presentation and thorough run through of features and actually demonstrate, I continue to watch. You do an awesome job.
Thanks Brent! We are glad the videos are helpful. Hope you are enjoying your 1750!
Is the Nordictrack still treating you well?
As I await my delivery, this video put me at ease. I’m not a runner and I probably will never go past 3.5MPH but I love the metrics. Thank you for this review.
Excited to say I’m finally at 4MPH. Never thought I would ever. I love ❤️ my Peloton Tread+.
This was a very detailed review. Looks awesome. May buy whatever version exists in 5 years or so.
Great review! I appreciate the detailed information. We bought a Tread+ today after watching this. Thank you!
Awesome! We hope you love it!
Phenomenal job creating this video! Highly informative. This is the way reviews should be done. Thank you for the time you invested into making this video.
Glad it was helpful!
Excited to have mine up and running this Friday :)
Awesome! We hope you enjoy it!
Probably the best review out there. Thanks!
Great review. Thank you! Very thorough!
Very informtitive and professional. Not overly cringey like some other reviews on youtube.
Thanks Mike!
I make videos for treadmills - i have found the indoor trend mill is SOO useful for during the winter. Sometimes it’s JUST too cold to out outside 🥶 this is a great video thank you for sharing! Sending a like and love from Ireland 🇮🇪
Thanks! I'm glad you like our videos! :)
💌 I love your reviews.
👏 🙌 Kudos to you for calling the risk before it all came out.
A good momma indeed. 👍

I just bought the bike and the treadmill + and can't wait until they come in on Jan 20th. I'm so pumped right now.
Hey how are they? I have used the Zwift platform on my road bike and am looking for something more dedicated and integrated
Wow!!! Everybody ain't able!!!! Enjoy!
Might they have these at 24hr fitness?
Another amazing review. Thanks!!
Very detailed review!
Thank you for a great review.
All your reviews are excellent!
Excellent review. Thank you 😊
Top notch review, best one here on UA-cam. Great work by you and your team, thank you again for sharing. Looking at getting one for my wife, leaning more towards this option.
Thanks Luke! The Peloton Tread+ is a great option if you're looking for a slat belt treadmill with added functionality. Good luck with your search!
Thank you for the in-depth review! I’m looking forward to getting my tread+ in March!
Hope you enjoy it!
great review 👍🏼 Thanks!
awesome review! thank you
Peloton issued a warning to keep kids away from the Tread today after a child died and I immediately thought of you and this video warning people and saying "because I'm a mom." We ultimately didn't go with the Tread and went with the Nordic Track x32i because we have small animals and that was a concern for us, so thank you. Absolutely horrific.
No statement so far was made as to how a toddler could die on this treadmill. I don't see how is this possible, unless the end of the treadmill was against a wall or piece of furniture and the treads beat the child to death. If indeed this is the case, then the parents are the ones at fault, not the manufacturer. But it's always the manufacturers fault, no matter the actions or in-actions of the parents.
I got my Tread+ and my peloton bike+ two weeks ago and just like McDonald's I'm loving it!
Wow! You people must be RICH!!! I can't justify spending that much money on a treadmill. I will live vicariously through you guys.
Terrific review. Thanks!
This was great. Thanks!
I have had the Peloton tread for almost 2 years. Starting 7 months ago the tread began to abruptly stop while I was running or walking and the screen would read "tread has stopped communicating". Sometimes the screen would then shut down or continue to not communicating with the tread. The tread does not just slow down when this happens. I could be going 9mph and it stops me in my tracks. It is extremely dangerous. Peloton has been awful! I have been trying to get them out to the house for the past 5 months. They were set to arrive for repair December 4th but did not show. Now, they have rescheduled for January 11th. FYI if you have trouble with your treadmill do not expect to get it repaired quickly!
Did they ever repair it?
@@swolern No! They finally showed up last week after 7 cancellations. The company peloton uses for repairs, Xpo, does not have any knowledge on repairing treadmills. The entire repair process is a joke. We still have no idea what is wrong with the treadmill.
If you want to get their attention, tell them you treadmill sucked in your kid underneath the belt causing broken bones and brain injury.
@@jessicawebber761 Put it on more and other social media channels. Maybe that will add some pressure.
Great review
Outstanding review!!!!!!!
Thanks!
Very informative thank you so much
Thank you for this video. The Nordic Track treadmill will auto adjust as you're following their trainers in outdoor settings. Does the Peleton treadmill do that as well?
Not on the original Peloton Tread+. The new Bike+ has auto-follow, so Peloton may incorporate that feature into their new Tread that is being released in March, but this version doesn't have it.
Excellent, thorough review--very professional, detailed and thoughtful! Can you please review the Woodway 4FRONT please?
I would love to review a Woodway. Unfortunately we no longer have a Woodway in our studio. Hopefully we'll get another one in the future, but it's not on the horizon right now :(
@@TreadmillReviewGuru I was thinking to buy either the Norditrack, Woodway 4Front or Technogym Skillrun, however, I am interested in their customer support and local service in case something breaks. I'd would be really super if you can thoroughly review that part of their business as well, since I think it is a integral part of a decision process to purchase a treadmill. Thanks again!
I hope you will do the review of small peloton treadmill..
Hi! Loving your videos 💕 I'm trying to decide which treadmill will be my best option. I'll be training for the 2021 Chicago Marathon (my first marathon ☺). I live in Miami and training will be during the summer 🥵 therefore I need to invest in a personal treadmill. That being said, I'm in between the Peloton Tread+ and th Norditrack Commercial 2950, which one do you think will better fit my needs? Thank you 😉
I'd probably recommend the NT 2950. It has more cushioning than the Peloton Tread+, so for longer distances it's much more comfortable. It's our most recommended treadmill for runners.
@@TreadmillReviewGuru thank you ☺
Are you going to be doing a review on the new peloton tread in the near future ?
when your doing a workout where you are off the tread for part of it. do you have problems seeing the screen from the floor? I guess you would need to place it nearby an open space
The screen is large enough, you can see it from pretty much anywhere. If you're down on the mat you may have to look up, but it's pretty visible.
This or the Assault Runner pro?
When will it be available in the UK😭
Which model do you suggest is best for someone with minor-medium {Knee, back and joint pains}?
The Peloton Tread+ is fantastic for serious runners who are used to outdoor surfaces. But it isn't as cushioned as a standard belt treadmill. If you need more joint support, I'd recommend the Nordictrack 2950 which folds up -- or the Nordicktrack x22i which has extensive cushioning but doesn't fold. The Nordictrack machines consistently have the softest cushioning.
are there any compact treadmills that go at least 12.5 mph? how big is this peloton compared to a curved treadmill?
The Peloton Tread+ is very large. Some curved treadmills take up more room, but a few are actually smaller. It depends on the model.
Thank you very much for the excellent review. My tread is arriving on 14 November and I no longer need the manual. 👍🏻 You explained it all. When you’re in scenic route- is it awkward to run faster than the movement?
No, the landscape videos are all filmed using a drone, so the videography is very fluid and it feels natural to run along at any speed. You don't really feel like you're outrunning the video if you go fast.
Hey there! Did you decide to order the treadmill plus over waiting for the new, lower cost treadmill? If so, why? I'm not sure which to order. The current model, or wait for the new, lower cost Peloton tread. Thanks for your insight!
I received the Peloton bike in April and have been hooked ever since. The variety of classes and instructors are amazing. With the Peloton treadmills -It would be nice to have the rotating screen and smaller footprint on the newer model, but I have the space and will be able to see the screen for the boot camp workouts or any floor workout. I’ve toyed with the idea of the tread plus for a few months and when I found out the wait time would be at least 6 weeks for delivery, I ordered it. Where I live in Colorado it has snowed twice already and this will be nice to use indoors for the upcoming winter. I hope this helps.
@@TreadmillReviewGuru it wont be a drone!! (as you see traffic overtaking etc and the camera doesn't move side to side ) it will be a vehicle with a stabilised camera on the front
Awesome review. Very thorough.
Thank you!
Does anyone know if I can log into my spotify account on the tread plus?
Nope, only peloton interface
I was so excited to get this treadmill and then realized my basement ceiling is 7 feet high. Is there any treadmill like this, or really any treadmill at all, that I can fit in my basement? I am 5'4 and my husband is 5'10. Thanks in advance!
There probably isn't a treadmill like this that you'll be able to find that will fit in your basement, unfortunately. You might want to check out the AssaultRunner Elite treadmill, the deck height on that one is about 12.5 inches, but doesn't have any incline that will push you higher, so that might be able to work in your case but probably be too high for your husband (ua-cam.com/video/NyiPuMs7atE/v-deo.html).
There are very low profile treadmills that you can check out but they won't have near as much functionality as a treadmill in this price range and this caliber. LifeSpan has a few low profile treadmills that you can check out, or there is the Echelon Stride that has a very low profile. Slat belt treadmills typically have high step up heights that are going to put you pretty close to hitting your ceiling. You could also check the NordicTrack Commercial series treadmills or possibly ProForm Pro treadmills, the Horizon 7.8 at might also be a good option. Please let us know what other questions you have, we're happy to help.
whats the difference between older gen Tread vs Tread+ ? Reason why i am asking this is that there are plenty of cheap one of those available in resale market.
This is the Tread+ which is the original model. It is the larger of the two. The new Tread will be slightly smaller and less expensive
The tread will also feature a traditional belt tread, it won't have the slat belt associated with the tread+.
@@Stephanie-tr3vd actually my question was related Tread+ vs the older gen one. what is the difference in two?

Mine arrives next week. I’m so out of shape...I’m not 300 lbs but I ll be lucky to run for10 min on this thing. Hopefully I’ll improve my health with its use.
Good luck! The Tread has lots of fun Peloton class options so you can get back into shape without getting bored.
Update?
thanks for the review...but how do you think it stacks up to Woodway?
You can run faster in manual mode on the Woodway since it is designed to be used that way. The Tread+ is harder to run on manually as the belt doesn't slide across the deck as smoothly. However, with the Tread+ you're also getting incline, decline and motorized speed if desired. The touchscreen is crisp and impressive -- although it does shake at high speeds. If you want the manual features, I'd stick with a Woodway. If you want a touchscreen with more training variables, then the Tread+ is a great choice.
@@TreadmillReviewGuru and how do they compare in „run feeling“? I loved the feel of the Woodway at my gym, no comparison at all to a „normal“ treadmill.
does it have a hard wire ethernet in case of wireless connectivity issues?
Yes. It is on the back of the screen. Peloton recommends using a cable that is at least 15 feet long and don't drape it underneath the Tread+. Here's a link for more info:

@@TreadmillReviewGuru found it thanks!! One more can I stream from my iPhone to the peloton tread plus screen?
@@alexperdomo6060 no, you can cast from the Peloton screen to a Smart TV. But you can't cast from another device to the Peloton screen.
is this one available in uk? Looking online i cannot find this model.
Different models are available in the UK market so we aren't sure which ones you can find overseas.
Ordered one, I have a large bedroom so haven’t decided if the bedroom or garage. What do you think?
I have one and it’s entirely too loud and bulky for a bedroom. If you have a non-living space to put it, like a garage, then I’d put it there
@@Everythingsoknow and there shall it go. 😀
We agree with Artesia. The Tread will probably work better in a garage. It is a fantastic piece of equipment. We hope you love it!
What's the best way to maintain the electronics (touch screen) in the garage, though? Especially when it is hot/cold temperatures?
@@ElTeaSeaCM I have a soft tarp that I am going to cover it when not in use.
Which treadmill is better Tread+ or Nordictrack x32i ?
The Tread+ is a slat belt treadmill, so it has a slightly different feel. If you have run on a slat belt tread before, you'll know it feels more like running outside. The Tread+ inclines to 15% and has Manual Mode, where you can disengage the belt from the motor and push it along with your feet. Peloton has good running and walking workouts but they are all studio based (like the bike classes).
The Nordictrack x32i is more cushioned and has a standard sliding belt that moves along the top of the deck. It is a more typical design with more cushioning in the deck. It also inclines higher to a 40% grade. Nordictrack has both indoor classes and outdoor routes all over the world. We prefer the outdoor routes, especially the walking tours and hikes through various mountain ranges.
Both are excellent machines. It kind of depends what you want to use it for. If you are a serious athlete who wants to try a slat belt tread, the Peloton Tread+ is a great option. It's less expensive than many other slat treads and it inclines as well. If you want to walk or hike while watching an outdoor program, then the x32i is probably a better option.
@@TreadmillReviewGuru Thank you very much for you helpful review and help, to be honest I like what Nordictrack x32i offer but I read a lot of bad reviews about the customer service. If any one have a good experience with Nordictrack x32i pease share.
@@nonagamila I have a Nordictrack 1750 and have had only great experiences with customer service. I've had the treadmill for a little over 2 years. I had to replace the incline motor, but customer service was great. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, I had to replace it myself, which wasn't a big deal. I received the replacement motor within a couple of days. To be honest, I usually contact support via chat and I've only had to wait a couple of minutes- max. I like using the chat option because I can have a record of what was discussed. I've read many reviews that have stated customer support is horrible, but it has not been my experience. Hope this helps.
@@cardinals142113 Thank you very much
Neri B. I am in the same boat as you but I did hear a lot of bad reviews with the Nordictrack treadmills. I hear the sales department with Nordictrack is great but when the unit breaks down the service support is very bad. I like the 40% incline with the X22i but I worry the motor or controller might go bad and I would have to wait months for a replacement.
Hey there, is this foldable/collapsible? Nice vid btw :-)
No, the Peloton Tread does not fold. Thanks!
Will treadmill connect to zwift?
Neither of these treadmills will sync directly with Zwift. You can use a Run Pod cadence sensor that will transmit your speed from any treadmill to the Zwift app -- but it's not integrated with the console metrics
Can you review a horizon treadmill?
Yes! We are in the process of trying to get a Horizon treadmill in our studio so we can do a video review. Due to Covid, backorders have seriously limited our supply. However, we do have written reviews of several of the Horizon models.
For a list of all the Horizon treadmills we've reviewed, click here:

@@TreadmillReviewGuru thank you so much for your response. I tested one of these treadmills and I found it to be very quiet and solid. Little vibration while running. My question is, would the ifit app control the speed and incline? This functionality has me leaning towards the nordic track 1750. Thanks again.
@@emmanuelg678 yes, iFit controls the speed and incline on Nordictrack treadmills. You can override the automation at any time if it's too fast/slow. I have the 1750 at home and I love it. Good luck!

Anyone need treadmill laptop desk for peloton tread+
The experience of using the Tread+ must be amazing, and is most probably popular for a good reason. But I cannot wrap my brain around that the incline and speed cannot be controlled from the trainers like the NordiTrack can, and also that there is not a cooling fan included, especially for that hefty price.
But nordictrack's customer service AND Unreliability is worth a hard pass...they shoot themselves in the foot
@@elizabethjones1973 I've heard horror stories on their support, but I am hoping I will be one of the fortunate ones if I do require tech support.
Wow! Definitely the quietest treadmill I've ever heard.
What a good treadmill for some one who has arthritis and sciatica
Hmmm, we assume you are being facetious. For arthritis and sciatica we'd recommend the Nordictrack x22i or x32i.
Peloton Plus treadmill vs the OTF Treadmills
I wonder if anyones ever been able to move this thing. I don't mind dropping 4.5K to buy it. My only concern is what if I decide to move out? There is no way any human can lift that thing lol.
Ethan Dur Peleton breaks it down and moves it for you for a fee
With my sporadic exercise practices I do don't DESERVE a machine like this. I am un worthy of it.
Peloton Death +
Wow....so people with injuries have to pay $2K more?
Yea you can see this is a bad unsafe design. They should have it like a regular treadmills and covered up where it starts and ends at the top.
Peloton recalls treadmills, halts sales, after a child dies
no wonder you need loud speakers at the front the treadmill is SO LOUD
this one is better than Norditrack machine.....
Specifically, which NordicTrack are you comparing?
I watched this video just to see if the treadmill killed you by the end
Just a heads up on the noise...the CDC website says "Noise above 70 dB over a prolonged period of time may start to damage your hearing. Loud noise above 120 dB can cause immediate harm to your ears."
just use ear plugs
@@vikas376 Then you won't hear the music nor the trainer .
Why would the center for disease control be commenting on noise damage haha...not their area of expertise

Running in the dark? Seems dangerous
Make sure you don’t have a baby around 😂
yikes 100 dB at 12 mph

Not worth the money. One can accomplish the same workout goals on a much cheaper unit.

Many users are looking for inclusive content they can enjoy and socialize with other riders. If it doesn't appeal to you, there are hundreds of other classes and programs in the Peloton library.
