I am not very good at avoiding enemies, so I tend to fight them all. This makes getting the Insect Head very quick. In my first run I was also very unlucky with weapon drops and if you're only relying on chests the Insect Head is the best before the frozen levels for sure

@@char_shine It's been two years and we still don't even have an official release date. We've been so forgotten that I've had to move onto playing on PC
3:00 Holy shit, this is a lifesaver! On my first farm, I forgot to grab the Crystalarium reward before finishing up the Vault, and I was pissed that I lost such a good gift forever. I’m super happy that I can finally nab that Crystalarium!
I actually knew the upgradeable trash because Wand Of Sparking made a challenge 'Stardew but i can only sell through trash can' , it was actually pretty cool
For the universally loved gifts i have a hunch for penny and haley. Haley is very particular in her loved gifts so she might not like rainbows or refuses to like stuff everyone else loves. And penny its a rabbits foot. My family loves rabbits so if someone handed me or my family members a rabbits foot we might just feel kinda weird. So maybe Penny loves rabbits or hates the idea of having a dead animal foot on her
Fun fact the greenhouse has a place for you to fill your watering can. It is also possible to complete the community center without entering the mines and getting the cutscene. It is also possible to complete the community center without killing a single enemy.
I actually really like the insect head. It's relatively decent all the way up to the volcano levels of the mine, after which I either find the bone sword or grind for the lava katana.
I usually get the insect head before I get to level 40. It's a strict upgrade over anything that can drop that early, unless you get crazy lucky fishing up the Neptune's Glaive (and even that is comparable because of speed mods). I'll use it until the Obsidian Edge drops no problem.
9:04 I discovered this by accident while in my main save what happened was I have a chest in my coop because I only have 3 mayonnaise makers and 4 chickens 2 void chickens a dino and a duck so I get overwhelmed by the amount of eggs I get and I was like "ya know what imma try to break a chest with items in it" so I tried and I moved the chest over
Some of these are newer features, which is probably why you didn't know about the Community Center item retrievals for a long time. It didn't used to be like that. Early versions just saw you losing those rewards forever if you forgot to collect them. I forget if it's 1.4 or 1.5 that introduced the means to collect missed rewards. I used the bug head weapons for a while once. I never buy weapons from the guild. I just wait until I find something better than my current in the mines, or can get the Galaxy sword from the desert depending on things. So, one run of my game saw the bug head actually being my best weapon for a little while because I had garbage luck finding anything else. XD
i actually used both the insect head and the transmute feature in my first playthrough when i was still bad at combat. Both of which means you never need to leave the starter floors to play the game effectively. The insect head is generally speaking powerful enough to get to the iron floors even when bad at the game, and transmute lets you get the iron needed for many recipes even while grinding out the insect head, albeit at a high premium.
@McLong Schlong it depends on the goal. if you just want to enjoy the game, you dont need to visit skull cavern ever. The quarry can spawn iridium rarely, the meteorite event exists, and then there is always a chance to get it from various geodes. Perfection requires hunting monsters that only appear in skull cavern, so it is required then, but perfection is a very different goal than just getting graded by grandpa. Heck, i am pretty sure you can even get the full 4 candles without leaving the copper levels of the mine, but again i point out not that i never left the copper levels, but that i took my sweet time trying to become powerful enough to reach the iron levels, which the insect head is more than strong enough to enable. It has been so long i couldnt tell you the exact reason i struggled so much, beyond maybe just having terrible loot luck (being stuck with the starter sword until the first chest sword upgrade) and getting swarmed by green fog while trying to fully exhaust every individual floor.
I got most of them, but I actually didn't know about Elliot's piano. But I've got a couple tips for you that I haven't seen on your videos yet. - You can wear the copper pan on your head as a hat, allowing you to carry it around without it taking up inventory space. It looks stupid, but hey, more inventory space! - Even though they're foraged, the game considers uniquely considers Fiddlehead Ferns to be a vegetable. So, you can actually put them in kegs to make juice or preserves jars to make pickles for extra profit. - Several tackle recipes are actually profitable to craft. Probably the most useful of these is the trap bobber, you get the recipe at fishing level six and it takes only copper and sap to craft but is worth 200g. It's actually 120g of profit using items you can get abundantly in the early game. - You can place garden pots everywhere outside the farm, even in people's houses, but it won't let you plant most crops... with one exception. For some reason, garden pots will accept tea saplings even if placed outside the farm, so you can turn the whole Quarry or Backwoods into a tea plantation, if you want. - You've talked about whether Diamonds or Star Shards are more profitable in the Crystalarium, but actually, neither of these are correct. The most profitable use of the Crystalarium is Emeralds, assuming you have the Artisan profession and don't have Gemologist. This is because the desert trader will trade an emerald for cheese 1:1 on Fridays, emeralds take 50 hours to produce and cheese with Artisan sells for 322g. (322 / 50) * 24 = ~155g/day/crystalarium. - Similarly, you've talked about how Super Cucumber ponds are a way to farm iridium ores. But there's actually a better one, Octopus ponds. Octopus ponds produce a pretty steady supply of omni geodes, and the desert trader will trade you 3 omni geodes for 1 desert warp totem any day. Put that desert warp totem in a deconstructor, and you get 4 iridium ore, allowing you to straight up buy iridium. This actually produces way more iridium/day than Super Cucumbers. - You've talked about speed buffs and how useful they are, but there's a weird thing about them that's different from all other buffs which most players don't seem to realize. Qi seasoning does *not* work on speed buffs, so you can't make triple shot espresso with +2 speed, unfortunately. But if you make triple shot espresso with qi seasoning in your inventory fridge, it *will* use it up regardless and make worthless gold star espresso. So you should always make sure to take that Qi seasoning out of the fridge and store it somewhere safe when whipping up some espresso. - There's an easy way to speedrun your way to 10 hearts once you get 8 hearts with a marriageable character. For some reason, the day you give someone their first bouquet, so long as you haven't already talked to them that day, you can give them unlimited bouquets. Each will raise their friendship slightly, so you can just keep spamming them with bouquets until you get to 10 hearts. This is a pretty easy way to get the rare group 10 heart event. - Since 1.4, they've fixed beehive processing time so that it now takes exactly 4 days. This is actually the exact timing of poppy and blue jazz harvest dates using hyper speed grow, meaning there's no need to just plant the flower and leave it all season, you can harvest it when your honey is ready and replant and your next crop of poppies and jazz will be ready in time for the next honey harvest. This is useful to get stacked with blue jazz for lucky lunch, or poppies for gifting to Leah or Penny.
38/50 The sink tip is pretty cool. It is good for plant something in garden pot in the house in early game. I always go outside to refill watering and come back in house and it is little annoying.

I some how found out that you could fill up your watering can before I knew that there was a stardew valley wiki. I found this out right after I found out that you could fill up you watering can with a fish pond.
In my longest save I got the insect head rlly early and didn’t have much money so it was significantly better than my other sword options and I used it for a long time
I am surprised you have not dived into transmuting (1:39), especially when you showed off the best transmuting craft with iron to gold of the two transmuting crafts. Let me first say, I have seen a bunch of your videos and I have learned a few things that have helped my play within the game of Stardew Valley so figured I would do the same. So let me explain why Tranmuting should become a thing in Stardew Valley but for a profiting. First, only do the Iron Transmuting once just to get a crafting badge of honor as taking 3 copper bars into one Iron Bar is not worth it, as 3 Copper Bars, by themselves will net you either a 60g or 90g (if you have the Blacksmith Profession) more as long as you sell them as copper bars and not as Iron bars. However, I mine the mines early to get to floor 120 as fast as possible so I can concentrate mainly on iron bars to make money early on. This is because you will have top-notch equipment for combat which with that will help make mining iron ores easy and if you take two iron bars and sell them as gold bars you could make an extra 10g or 15g (if you have the Blacksmith Profession) selling them as gold bars over top of if you had sold them as iron bars. So if you have five furnaces cooking bars to max perfection in and out for 10 hours. If you were doing just gold ore to gold bars, you would make 2,500g. However, take those same five furnaces doing iron ores and then transmuting them to gold, you will make 3,000g. That is more gold in your bank account than just doing gold alone. Or if you did that for 20 hours, you would have 5,000g on just gold ore, or transmuting the iron bars from iron ores, you would make 6,250g. That is 1,250g more profit by changing the iron bars to gold in the same time frame as making gold bars. And, if you have the Blacksmith Profession, that 4,875g more in your pocket versus selling the iron bars straight. Of course, sell one iron bar for the honors of selling one bar but otherwise, if you don't need it for other crafting, go GOLD transmuting. I mean who doesn't love gold, well, unless you want Iridium. But hey, just food for thought, check it out.
I somehow got the insect head as a drop and it carried me for a looong time. Huge upgrade at the time. Abigail also wants to share a cup of hot cocoa during winter. Supercute video. :3
It’s funny, I didn’t know about luck when playing my first account so my adventuring of the caves never went well. Also didn’t know you could buy swords. Actually did end up killing enough insects and getting the insect head as a weapon and yes I did use it for quite some time 😂
I get the insect head early, so it's still useful by the time I get it. It's better than any swords you can get for free until the bone sword. I have also transmuted in previous casual games because I waited until high-level versions of recipes were available instead of using up my copper.
I always farm insects in the mine in the first few days so I can get bait and the Sword ! Allows for much quicker mine clearing as I keep this weapon until the obsidian sword !
I got 46. I knew Elliot would react if you play a certain set of notes but didn't know which notes. I didn't know about peppermint coffee either As for Marlon, you only get his number after you slay 150 magma sprites
A pro tip to this video: instead of starting from zero and summing the numbers, instead start at 50 and subtract the value of the fact that you didn't know. This way you have to do less operations.
Insect head isn’t really super amazing, but if you go early game and just keep killing them to try and get an ancient seed early spring then it will come in handy for a while
8:00 YES I DO ! Im just grinding the insect because im bored, and get those at like, very weak state where you use everything you have and can get your hands on, and it's feel amazing 🔥
The only think I "missed" points for was the piano at Elliot, I knew of it but never can remember the order to play it. As for the sink you can also use a fish pond in the same way to refill your watering can. And when it comes to monster musk in the volcano, it is mainly focused at making the swarms ("cloudy effect") appear more commonly and since the volcano doesn't have swarms it isn't as obvious that it has an effect there, besides, it can also happen in the mines or in skull cavern that you sometimes enter a floor that's pretty much empty of any monsters. And while these two items are slightly harder to stock it's best to use golden pumpkin or pearls as a loved gift, they are 100% loved by everyone.
TIL rings once forged can be unforged. I missed spotting that and it's actually useful to me. I accidentally forged the wrong rings together. Thanks ezlilyy
I used the bugs head on my very first playthrough and it carried me in the mines for a while because I was running into a lot of bug fog before I got too deep in the mines and it was better than the weapons I was finding at the time
Insect head was actually the best weapon available to me the first time I unlocked it. I'm not sure exactly how I think it was because I was nervous about continuing through the mine and needed a lot of copper or stone or something.
Insect head is great for early mines. If you farm a full set of copper tools, you shouldn't be far off from the sword with how many bugs spawn. Even more if you know the wild bait recipe. The bug floors are perfect for it, lots of weeds, bug meat, and slime.
did you know magic rock candy gives 5+ luck? you can buy it for three prismatic shards from the camel trader on thursdays, im not sure of other ways to get it, but its pretty cool >->
The bug head. I got that year 2 from the old guy and found a club year 1 in the mines. I haven't even reached level 40 in the mines yet, nevermind 20. That head will still hold well for me for some time to come.
I do actually enjoy the bug weapon a lot. Sometimes I play a long slow game with my friends, no min maxing. And we end up racking up the kills on bugs because there’s always a person in the mine, and there’s not enough weapon drop for everyone. I really appreciate the bug weapon because it is pretty strong for 80 levels, all the way to lava stage
27/50 I could have given myself some half points because I knew half of the tips but not the other (like I knew you could play Elliot's piano but not that if you played it in a specific sequence he gave you a hear emoji)
Think the reason Penny hates rabbit feet is because...well, it's a rabbit's foot and she's a very sensitive lady (even though rabbits are apparently lizards who can shed and regrow them in Stardew Valley) As for Haley hating Prismatic Shard...dunno, maybe its that she doesn't like the rainbow lol
Haley probably hates Prismatic Shards because she finds them very gaudy. She has an interest in fashion, so vulgar displays of wealth like that are usually considered quite gauche. It would be like making a statue out of gold. Only the incredibly tasteless and egotistical would ever find that appealing.
Instead of turning a blobfish into a hat, use it in a fish pond and put their eggs in the preserve jar. Blobfish roe is the most profitable out of all of them, selling at 560g before artisan profession (784 after). Before artisan, you're making 560-1120g per day with just one fish pond of blobfish off their aged roe alone (artisan bumps it up to 784-1568g per day). They also have a chance to give you pearls as well, and those sell for 2500 or allow you to make a bridal veil.
I had the insect head when it was actually useful because I didn't know about the elevator for my first few seasons and I was treating the mines like the skull caverns
Haley hates the prismatic shard because everyone else loves it, so she thinks it's prettier than her. Penny hates the rabbit's foot because if you talk to her at the grange fair, she won the wheel 10 times in a row and and was told she can't play anymore, so her luck is so high that it jinxes her.
1:39 - I actually tend to study what is more efficient before I sell excess items, such as, whether to cook fish/crops, in what way etc. Hence, about the bars, copper bars earn the most if you sell them as they are, while the iron bars earn more money, if you transmute them to gold. Just saying.
6:30 “Ice cream isn’t really that good for anything” ? Pretty much everyone but Emily, Harvey, Krobus, Leah, Leo and Willy likes it as a gift and together with cloth at a sewing machine makes the retro rainbow shirt.
32 points, I think (may have missed one) And yes, I’ve used the bug sword before. It was actually my main weapon for a bit. It was during my first gameplay of stardew, and I *was* scared of the mines so I didn’t progress as much. That bug head was better than a steel small sword. So yeah
i don't think i have any points but that mayonaise thingy...i haven't played stardew for years now...time to get back to it...i see there is so much new content here xD
Another fact is for the transmute it has (Fe) for the iron bar and (Au) for the gold bar which Fe and Au are the letters for them on the periodic table of elements
Swap hotbar by Tab actually my most favourite mod that dont change massive thing in stardew valley before it's implement in game during 1.3 or 1.4 update
8:17 Yes I have... when I had already grinded for an ancient seed so I had 125 killed insects and was at a level 2 sword anyway as of like floor 80 or so of the mines so yeah my weapon luck was horribly bad that run
I actually use the bug head a lot. i always end up killing a ton of bugs while im getting copper when im playing coop and i usually get enough killed before i get the obsidian sword,
I actually have used the insect sword. I still had the rusty sword when I got to the dark part of the mine. I didn’t want to buy a sword and I was kinda close to the insect reward so I just completed it and got the sword.

Right? I transmute all the time when I need certain bars.
Okay, that's more facts than I knew haha I just transmute bars
I got 50/50, mostly as a mix of me being a wiki goblin and also watching stardew content regularly
Love that your still making videos about stardew you have the best drive for this xx
I somehow got the insect head as a drop and it carried me for a looong time. Huge upgrade at the time. Abigail also wants to share a cup of hot cocoa during winter.
Supercute video. :3
31, and yes, in my first playthrough I was having so much difficulty in the mines that I got the insect head passively and used it for a while.
It’s funny, I didn’t know about luck when playing my first account so my adventuring of the caves never went well. Also didn’t know you could buy swords. Actually did end up killing enough insects and getting the insect head as a weapon and yes I did use it for quite some time 😂
Even though I'm a new player (152 hours in the game), I knew a lot of these.
The wiki for this game is very informative.
I'll admit, I think the only one I knew was that you can dig dirt in hostile areas for cave carrots and such. Didn't know a single other one.
I get the insect head early, so it's still useful by the time I get it. It's better than any swords you can get for free until the bone sword. I have also transmuted in previous casual games because I waited until high-level versions of recipes were available instead of using up my copper.
Monster musk does work in the volcano according to the game’s code.
I always farm insects in the mine in the first few days so I can get bait and the Sword ! Allows for much quicker mine clearing as I keep this weapon until the obsidian sword !
I got 46. I knew Elliot would react if you play a certain set of notes but didn't know which notes. I didn't know about peppermint coffee either
As for Marlon, you only get his number after you slay 150 magma sprites
A pro tip to this video: instead of starting from zero and summing the numbers, instead start at 50 and subtract the value of the fact that you didn't know. This way you have to do less operations.
You, stranger, is smarter than I'll ever be in my lifetime. Thanks
Only true if you score above 25 points.
Thanks ezlilyy
i have no idea how, but in my first play of Stardew i acutally got the insect weapon at a time, where it was my best weapon
I downloaded the game a week ago and your videos are very helpful. Thanks! 🍄
The only new thing for me was the blob fish mask, really cool stuff
I used the bugs head on my very first playthrough and it carried me in the mines for a while because I was running into a lot of bug fog before I got too deep in the mines and it was better than the weapons I was finding at the time
I actually use the insect head a lot, but then again, I also tend to get it super early, still in Spring of Year 1.
Insect head was actually the best weapon available to me the first time I unlocked it. I'm not sure exactly how I think it was because I was nervous about continuing through the mine and needed a lot of copper or stone or something.
Found out what Save scumming was in Fallout 4 thanks to Dialogue, I'm glad I could find another game where I can abuse the save mechanic! 😍
49/50 i knew about using the hoe in the mines and but didnt know that you can just re hoe it for more items
6:04
" want an icecream on a hot summer day but alex isint there to serve you? "
* proceeds to go to buy icecream in winter while its snowing *
The bug head. I got that year 2 from the old guy and found a club year 1 in the mines. I haven't even reached level 40 in the mines yet, nevermind 20. That head will still hold well for me for some time to come.
I honestly had no idea about the kitchen sink fact. That's cool, also the slime fact with the ice cream stand. It's funny
I got 3 points!
1 because i read the loved items on the wiki
1 because i wanted the ancient seed
And 1 because i randomly pressed tab
Imagine if you didn't know you could get wood from trees
I do actually enjoy the bug weapon a lot. Sometimes I play a long slow game with my friends, no min maxing. And we end up racking up the kills on bugs because there’s always a person in the mine, and there’s not enough weapon drop for everyone. I really appreciate the bug weapon because it is pretty strong for 80 levels, all the way to lava stage
27/50 I could have given myself some half points because I knew half of the tips but not the other (like I knew you could play Elliot's piano but not that if you played it in a specific sequence he gave you a hear emoji)
If you're curious, the specific sequence is the title theme song!
49/50 I did not know you can literally shove chests around! That's cool.
he must’ve been that kid who always won the staring contests geez💀
Think the reason Penny hates rabbit feet is because...well, it's a rabbit's foot and she's a very sensitive lady (even though rabbits are apparently lizards who can shed and regrow them in Stardew Valley)
As for Haley hating Prismatic Shard...dunno, maybe its that she doesn't like the rainbow lol
rabbit “feet” are just clumps of matted rabbit fur though
YOU CAN PUT HATS ON RARECROW? Aw shit okay well this is new information...
How is it possible that I watch ALL of these videos and yet I still find things I did not know??? LOL
ok so I've got 50/50 :D and for the insect head I use it very often, it's not that complicated to kill 125 insects before finished the copper sections
6:30 “Ice cream isn’t really that good for anything” ? Pretty much everyone but Emily, Harvey, Krobus, Leah, Leo and Willy likes it as a gift and together with cloth at a sewing machine makes the retro rainbow shirt.
32 points, I think (may have missed one)
And yes, I’ve used the bug sword before. It was actually my main weapon for a bit. It was during my first gameplay of stardew, and I *was* scared of the mines so I didn’t progress as much. That bug head was better than a steel small sword.
So yeah
I got 39/50!! Pretty proud of myself for knowing most of them :)
"I'm sure you've noticed, there's a piano in Elliot's room."
People go into Elliot's room?
Thanks for the tips lily!
I got them them all right except for one probably from watching your other videos :)
Sorry I made a typo and put them twice.
33~
I use the tab all the time. Same with scrolling on the mouse wheel. Super easy inventory.
These had a good few things I never knew! Especially the unclaimed rewards for the community center!
46/50 :/
I just didn’t know the community center lost rewards and the artifact spot one
i don't think i have any points but that mayonaise thingy...i haven't played stardew for years now...time to get back to it...i see there is so much new content here xD
You got one half right... You have to beat the monster hunter board for the MAGMA SPRITES To unlock Marlons Phone number.
39/50 thank you so much for doing videos like this ezlily they are very informative and have helped me a lot with stardew valley
Another fact is for the transmute it has (Fe) for the iron bar and (Au) for the gold bar which Fe and Au are the letters for them on the periodic table of elements
That tip where you can call marlon for the service demands you kill 150 fire sprites first
Swap hotbar by Tab actually my most favourite mod that dont change massive thing in stardew valley before it's implement in game during 1.3 or 1.4 update
Heh as i started on Switch, then had to hange to PC, rotate toolbar was the whole reason I started modding! Quickly became an obsession though.
I used the insect for a couple of in game days. Although I'm a much slower person and it's still my first play through.
I actually did use the insect head in my 1st game. Apparently I just got a bunch of bugs by chance so I got it while it was still a good sword.
8:17 Yes I have... when I had already grinded for an ancient seed so I had 125 killed insects and was at a level 2 sword anyway as of like floor 80 or so of the mines so yeah my weapon luck was horribly bad that run
I actually use the bug head a lot. i always end up killing a ton of bugs while im getting copper when im playing coop and i usually get enough killed before i get the obsidian sword,
8:08 Yeah actually! I hadn’t leveled up my sword at all yet so that was my first GOOD sword- then again it had been my first ever run and uhhh yea..
I didn't know about the piano. Rest was pretty much just something I picked up by playing naturally
I’ve actually used the insect head before! Got it around level 23 I think? Hung onto it until a skeleton dropped their sword.
I actually have used the insect sword. I still had the rusty sword when I got to the dark part of the mine. I didn’t want to buy a sword and I was kinda close to the insect reward so I just completed it and got the sword.
I feel good with my 33 points! Also at my 1 gameplay I used the insect head for WAY to long
when the peppermint coffee was said it reminded me of my peppermint hot chocolate that I was making. thanks for the reminder
I needed that shoes tip. I found these nice light green shoes that match my outfit but have bad stats. But the shoes with good stats clash with my outfit so badly!
i always transmute my iron to gold, ive been constantly grinding coal sprites and end up with a a stack of iron 😅
Oh man. I've been sleeping on using gardening pots in my house due to the annoyance of watering them. I legit didn't know the sink worked.
I got the insect sword before I even got the first dagger in the mines so it was a blessing for me
ok i got the bug sword early (bc i got SWARMED ON EVERY LEVEL) and if you get it at like. level 20 or something its overpowered as HELL
4:30 OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH
I have no idea how many points I've got, because some of the facts are like "Hey, did you know that the thing you didn't know exists actually really doesn't exist?"
40/50 i missed some of them cause i haven't reached the forge area yet on ginger island hahah. Now I'll be a pro!
I got 42 not bad.
AND I HAD NO IDEA YOU CAN CHOP WOOD...
Thank you so much! I didn't know any of these, and I have been playing for a long time :)
Okay I didn't know about the first one, that is so adorable 😭
