Best "don't" I've ever heard in this game: Don't stress about it. If you decided to spend the first year just sleeping, the game just starts over like day 1. So just go out, do what you want to do, and have fun.
One of the most important "Don'ts" , is don't follow everything these do's and don'ts videos tell you. You'll get bored of the game because you're just copying someones elses gameplay style. Still great tips video :)
@@fanndx this video isn't giving tips, just telling you things you should or shouldn't be doing to have more fun. But not everyone has fun in the same way. I prefer to make the most out of the days and try to get a lot of money, and she's saying to slow down and relax. I don't have fun doing that. No hate to anyone, I'm just saying she's giving opinions, not tips
I would argue that the early bridge IS very much worth it, for multiple reasons: 1) The second beach is a separate area to the normal beach, and as such makes a trip to the beach much more lucrative. 2) Just like all the other areas, forage items on the beach reset every week, meaning you can't just wait till fall for level 10 Foraging, go there and expect a magical beach filled with Coral and Sea Urchins on every tile. 3) You're basically guaranteed to make at least 3000 gold from emptying the beach on two consecutive Saturdays (the day before the reset). You know what you can buy with 3000 gold? The 300 wood you spent on the bridge. 4) All the items on that beach give Foraging experience, which gets you to Gatherer and Lightning Rod recipes faster
@@Fizzwidjet70 year 1 wood is 10g at Robin's. Trust me, I know for sure because I usually buy an entire chest of wood from Robin in winter year 1 to have a stockpile Edit: Or don't, and just make a fresh character on a new farm and go to her to check for yourself.
I always build the bridge for the coral. Early on, even Sandy's 80g price tag per Deluxe Speed-Gro is a bit too steep, so I mass-tap oaks and stockpile coral until I unlock the recipe.
Funny story about my first playthrough: I didn't realise that you could fill up your watering can, and so as soon as i used up all the water, i had to rely on rain for my crops. Then, i thought that the only way was to refiill your can was to buy the upgrade from clint. And so my first tool upgrade was the watering can...but upgrading the watering can doesn't refill it! I can't believe i was that clueless 😅
Robin literally tells you about getting a well to refill your watering can once you pick up 100 stones, you will now be immortalized as a reminder to read all the letters you get
@@itsgonnabeanaurfromme I just didn't realise you could refill it! And in my defense, i hadn't played any other games where you had to water crops. But yeah i was pretty dumb lol!
Yea my biggest issue is definitely the burnout. I just started not too long ago and i was trying to do everything at once and feeling overwhelmed with everything i had to do. So now im gonna try to slow it down and have some fun with it rather than trying to do things with my own internal time constraints
*First winter is so profitable!* My first winter I was absolutely out of money so I started tilling soil in search for winter roots and snow yams. I quickly found out that you can find an abundance of them. My strategy was getting as much food that replenishes energy in my in inventory, drinking a coffe at the beginning of the day and then heading out for the beach. I tilled ever single tile on the beach plus every other tillable tile on the map and by the end of the day I'd end up with about 30-50 snow yams + winter roots to sell. That first winter I bought both the red and blue backpack upgrades, finished the treasury bundle and upgraded my house and tools. Don't sleep on winter, it can give you such a boost!
*Update*: Started playing co-op with my partner and on our first winter after I told him my beach tilling plan he said to me : "Don't worry about that, baby, I can go fishing for money this winter!". Did my beach tilling while he fished and racked in 3x the profit he would bring in from fishing daily. By night market time he started asking me to go beach tilling and by the time night market passed ,he began helping me till the whole map. Boy , I told you it’s profitabile!
Tips: Can use quarry to grow hardwood or regular trees. Same with desert. Just visit areas to see if ready, if not, then reload farm and play normal. No wasting time. Watch time clock, if blinking, time is paused. Place a keg outside shed when you refill all kegs inside make sure to fill keg by door. No more having to go inside to see if ready.
Mountain Lake is a perfect starting point to fishing: - Carp is the easiest fish in the game (perfect catches are doable even at Lv1) - Players will find all 4 fishes in the Lake Bundle here (last one is Summer/Winter-only) - Hardest year-round fish there is still catchable with the Training Rod - It's only fitting for people to start here, given the "endgame" is also here.
For me, the rock in the ocean is the perfect place to start. Sardines and others are very easy to catch and the rock gives higher quality fish which is a much appreciated boost to finances :)
@@byterogers7846 Not really that good when the idea is to get people to learn the minigame: kids these days can be rather spineless, so if they ran into stuff like eels and pufferfish/octopus who knows how long until they muster up the will to try again.
@@SonnyFRST alright yeah when it comes to learning, the beach may not be the best option for everyone. Personally I like to see a bit of a challenge, so by always getting fish too easy to catch Id lose interest. But thats me :)
@@byterogers7846 I also go for the ocean at first. I start right outside Willy's shop, because you don't actually have to sleep on the level upgrade to get the next rod. So day 2, fish until you hit level 2, run in and sell your fish and buy the next rod. THEN go to the Mountain Lake.
Tip: after you get the Golden Lewis Statue put it on wherever on the town and Lewis will write you a letter with 750 g (you can only do this once), also wherever you place it it will be replaced with a rotten plant and the Statue will end up on Lewis's room(or in rare cases on Marnie's Room)
@@mr.sniffly5297 There are specific tiles that are safe bc no one ever walks through them. I think there's a map or some guide on the wiki, and I use it whenever placing chests and other stuff around town
I'm late to this video but I just had to say that luck most definitely affects more than just finding ladders in the mine, and is actually a very useful mechanic that comes in handy if you're utilizing it correctly. It affects fishing, combat, and the amounts and qualities of loot that you can get from mining, as well as the other activities. It can make your life a whole lot easier to do certain things on lucky days rather than unlucky ones. It's by no means required, it's just very useful and can save you time and energy.
You make some really nice points, but I think building the beach bridge early is a good idea. Yes, it costs a lot of wood, but if you have the extra wood or even if you simply farm trees sustainably, you can find a lot of valuable things on the other side of the bridge, like sea urchins and clams, which sell for a lot and help up the foraging skill. Great video!
i think this is really important. on my first save where i actually kind of understood the game i took it really slow. i didn’t finish the community center until year 2 was almost over. same with a prismatic shard. took ages. i also still use the wiki all the time. i always keep a wiki tab open in my browser
Personally, I almost always finish the beach bridge by the 6th of spring in my playthroughs, this is just preferential as it gives me access to additional forgeables, and I can very easily get my wood back later simply by utilising the near-limitless energy in salmonberry season. There are always plenty of trees on my farm and I always make sure to chop as few of them down as possible until I have level 1 foraging (Which really doesn't take long, I typically chop down about six trees and collect forage and get level 1 on Day 2) that way I can get the seeds from trees when I'm chopping them down and I can plant additional trees for salmonberry season. Even one day's worth of Salmonberries is usually (if you have level 4 foraging) roughly 75-100 berries. Which is worth 1800-2000 energy! (25 energy per berry) That much energy can easily allow me to cut down AT LEAST 40 trees. So I just find this worth it to me. Hell, sometimes I just go ahead and sell some of my wood early game before the egg festival just to get a few extra strawberry seeds. (At a rate of 2g/wood, that's 50 wood for a single seed, so it's not a great exchange, but I personally try to get 40 seeds year 1, so if I'm a little short, this is my method to gain some extra money.)
Early game I found that chopping trees and not the stumps gives a ton of acorns needed to make the field snacks. I leave the stump in the ground because it leaves back plenty of respawnable acorns and I slowly take any extra acorns that I'm not using for field snacks to plant trees in the upper left side of the map as soon as possible. I use the field snacks to quickly maximize my forestry and for any other additional activities that I normally could not fit into a day due to energy demands. I can usually get two to three days of energy out of one day using this technique as long as I plan the day before I go off and get things done. The first month is usually very specific but after that anything goes. Made something like 25,000 in the first month which I feel is plenty especially since I was able to purchase about 150 strawberry plants during the festival and buy my backpacks by the end of the month.
First run through the game, on year three and looking at how aesthetic you guys make your farm is crazy go those who actualy make it pretty. Mine is 100% production focus
@@i_am_ergo Luck. According to some people, Luck is one of the best buff you could get. And for speed you could have just gone with coffee. Edit: Defense for some people wasn't the best buff because combat isn't strictly part of mining.
Fish ponds also usable as water sources for filling up watering can. They take up more space than a well, but they also generate valuable resources. Lava eels, stingrays (which sometimes make dragon teeth), rainbow trout (occasional prismatic shard), and whatever fish you need for your favourite cooking recipe.
A correction about the first bit of the video where you show Clint opening geodes when talking about luck: Geodes and Troves aren't affected by luck, they are affected by your map seed. There's a predetermined item you will get based on what geode/trove you are opening. For example: your 100th item will be Item A if you r opening a normal geode, Item B if you r opening a magma geode, Item C if you r opening a trove and so on.
DO get the NPC Map Locator Mod. My god, it made my village life SO much more hassle-free. No moment of frustration trying to find the schedule wikis, just check the map, and it'll show you where everyone's at a given time. Also, once you've got your feet under you, definitely get the Stardew Valley Expanded mod. I love the extra characters, and areas to explore.
Motion seconded, there's some cool stuff in there, though game balance can take a hit here and there. That might just be an interaction between the mods in the mod bundle my friend recommended to me, tho.
I built the 300 wood bridge early to marry early so I could get the star drop energy as quickly as possible. That tip really depends on how quick you want an energy boost.
i like to hoe a big field to grow my crops in, but i also have a second field i like to plant wild seeds in. im not sure why but i just like constantly having a big crop of wild seeds growing, and then even in winter i have a big crop harvest at the end of every week. i also particularly like the way those mixed wild seed crops look especially the winter ones.
Hi bc of you I got stardew valley you have taught me a lot before I bought the game thank you and in summer I got an ancient fruit seed gave it to Gunther and then planted it in summer I’m also having trouble getting money but I just wanna say thank you for making here videos❤
Get to two hearts with Caroline (green hair), she'll send you the Tea Tree sapling recipe the following day (5 fibre, 5 wood & 2 wild seeds). They sell for 500 each, great early game! Wild seeds are obtained from crafting certain foragables together as well as rewards for the foraging bundles (excluding exotic) 🥳 don't waste all your fibre though...
Absolutely love your channel and am actually playing with mods for the first time since I was mainly a console player. Even having some experiences, your videos have helped me greatly... Had a lot of progress on Console, but not much on PC, so previously used mods to do way to much, trying SVE for the first time and am hyped by all the reviews I've read and watched about it, and will be sure to take it nice and slow, and not juggle too much at once, had a large farm and animals on Xbox and doing that all at once on PC, with the help of mods, was too much as I didn't ease into it as I did on Console.
I'd argue that depends on what you're after. If you're looking to mine stone/kill monsters/unlock new levels for the elevator, it's totally fine to go to the mines on a bad luck day. But if you're looking to get a ton of Ores/Gems, try to go during a good luck day. This is especially the case with the Skull Caverns.
Even early game to get lower? I watched a Salmesence (I think it is) video about being quite far down by the end of Spring Year 1, but my luck keeps being unfavourable
I'm not sure about this but I think you encounter more monster on a non-lucky day. I'm trying to farm tons of coal right now and for me going to the mines on bad luck days is better.
First time player, because of my experience with minecraft, and terraria, and starbound, I ended up just ONLY planting and farming crops that I'd either foraged, or received as a reward from artifacts or other quests. Thus, I've kinda been doing like my own unintentional challenge mode, but to me it's just how I normally play; that is, never 'buying' a single seed. I've got ancient seeds from a crafting recipe, I've got foragables for days, I get stuff like cabbage, coffee, and rice as loot drops from enemies, and of course mixed seeds gains me a few random crops here and there which I stockpile. I basically just heavily focus on artisan goods/passive income. Bee hives, crystalariums, recyclers, the one keg I got as a reward from the community center which I still don't have the crafting recipe for, the pickling barrels which I make jam from, rows of tapped trees, and rows of tea trees. All my others skills are level 10, but my farming is only level 6. I never do large-scale farming simply because I just don't accumulate enough crops to do so. But that makes things easier on me, as it leaves me a lot more time to focus on mining and foraging, and keeping an eye on other things without having to constantly check on a giant field of crops.
Ive found that a insane amount of people in stardew like pancakes, which are insanly easy to make. With only needing 1 egg, and wheat flour. So usually if im trying for friendship, i go pancakes
You can still feed your animals on rainy days if you grow some wheat. Available first summer, cheapest crop out there. Watering is a bit of a pain, but it grows quickly. Harvest the wheat, get some hay. Cheaper and more reliable than Marnie, and ultimately profitable once you finally get the mill. Plus, not to forget the main point: Your animals can still eat on a boring rainy day. 2:13 If you have four chests just for catfish....you may be a bit of a hoarder.
It might be chests just for fish in general, and she uses the same fish for the signs for consistency. I know I'm finishing Year 1 in my current playthrough and already have 2 chests of "1 or 2 just in case" fish plus stacks for rotating fish ponds.
I want to mention a tip I found useful in early game- Don't upgrade the watering can until that first winter since you can only grow Winter crops anyway (and all of these are forgeable). I recommend upgrading it to at least Silver (do gold if you have money and resources for it). Btw, Ez, it seems you've gotten the 100%, so maybe you can help me here. I am struggling with the Simon Says Crystal game on Ginger Island. Do you have any tips? Trying to remember these random patterns is so hard for me and I try using my mouse to follow the sequence. Seriously, I wish I could find all of those nuts without doing that game, oi.
I do mine in the first spring, I just wait till the forecast says it's a rainy day the next day and go get it done before. So I water plants, give it to Clint, next day it rains, next day my watering can is done, I go get then water the plant. I don't lose any watering days, and I can afford to plant more crops energy-wise.
I am very relaxed when playing and I leave an area of my farm natural as in the beginning with trees and gras growing (mostly the area left bottom that is the most far away from my house and sometimes also right bottom) and I do not have more than four or five barns. In winter I grow some winter crops and often go around the whole village to collect items and go to the mines or the quarry or visit the villagers. I love how the village looks like in winter! 😊❄️🎄
I always start a playthrough with the goal of completing Community Center (mixed) in year 1 plus another challenge. It makes every playthrough fresh and enjoyable for me.
when i first started playing (like, less than a month ago lol) i named my farm "fair farm" so it read as "fair farm farm". i also didn't know the elevator in the mines could actually be used. or that you could loot minecarts/bags/etc. full of coal. c':
The only thing I regretted is not growing the beans during spring because I freaking hate beans. Now it's the only item left needed to complete the bundle so that I can have a greenhouse...
On the first statement, i had 20 days in summer where i struggled to catch the octopus and the crimson fish. On 21st i caught both on a worst luck day.
The tip about the fishing is so true, when I started the game first I couldn't fish at all and I hated it. Now I caught all legendary fish with relative ease
Btw..your the only one that encourages me and makes me feel like maybe I can actually play the game. I didn't even know about doing things at the community center 🤫 I'm just 7 days in. Learning what I can.
I wanted to say that i always don't really like the advice of keeping a little bit of everything (because people have 30 chests with useless things that they will never use) but then i checked what stuff you need for cooking and changed my mind lol. the thing is that at this point i remember almost everything that you need for crafting and cooking and quests so I know what to keep, but if you haven't spent 1500h in the game like i did this may be actually a good idea... but personally i have 7 chests and 2 fridges and that's all you need to complete the game (even less actually but I like it this way for organizing purposes). though if you have walnut room unlocked then you have pierre's missing stocklist and magic bait so basically you can get everything you need at any time (by the way if you need certain forageables, on saturday you can trade forage seeds you have for forage seeds of the season you need at the desert trader). I try to challenge myself by completing the game as fast as possible in in-game days. I just finished a playthrough where in two years I got every achievement and every requirement for perfection, including getting all stardrops and befriending everyone, except earning 10 mil for gold clock. I don't minmax so all of that can be achieved by a casual style of playing. The only thing where I cheated a little is I used a predictor for geode manipulation, but in my defense i got really unlucky with Qi quests and couldn't get dangerous skull cavern quest to farm omni-geodes (good way to farm omni-geodes is to use monster musk in dangerous skull cavern with burglar's ring and re-enter until you get mummy floor, kill all ghosts and then repeat). I earned 10 mil in total, but I spent it on ore and wood and stone because I didn't really had enough time to farm it manually. Now I'm thinking about the way to earn 20 mil in two years at least somewhat casually without min-max strategies like clay farming or full farm of crops... any suggestions? three sheds full of starfruit wine isn't enough. I know that there are videos of people who achieved perfection in two years (you can't do it faster because you need a queen of sauce recipe on 28th of winter) but my goal is to prove that you can achieve perfection playing casually. also i came up with another challenge for myself, i want to collect all stardrops in 100 days. i almost did it once except getting fishing one... the only problem with fishing stardrop is that you need to get lucky enough with rains in second half of spring to have enough fishing level to catch legend fish. i foresee a lot of restarts...
Can you unlock rain totems by then? Sounds like you have this game down to a science. At this point, you need a protege to teach them the way lol.. This game has so much content, once I figure stuff out, all i want to do is share it with someone ha
i recently did this no mods, no cheats or manipulations. basically, the best tips for it are typical early game money strategies i.e potatoes into strawberries etc. dont try to befriend anyone too much in year 1 outside birthdays in which case give them the best quality gift you can give them without going too far out of your way and always put either a sturgeon or gold star purple mushroom in the potluck soup. i planted a few blue jazz and spangles for gifts (Jas and Caroline) maybe 4 of each. aim for 2 pigs by mid summer that was my benchmark then make a coop for community centre/ year 2 gifting (rabbits feet/goats cheese etc) aim for around 600 crops by fall year 1 you should be making a shed or 2 by this point, plant mostly pumpkins and juice them clear a space somewhere with enough space for 50-60 oak trees and space them out and place paths between them for a resin farm this will seem alot at first and you'll stockpile quite a bit of resin but you'll need it all eventually. farm dust sprites as the 1st thing on the protector list after reacing level 100 and unlocking gold and the stardrop and abuse the burglar ring for extra coal while farming godless amounts of iron clear all the trees in the forest before the ones on your farm and replant every now and then when you get a big space youre not using for crops. save 10-15 strawberries and seed them for the greenhouse, keep seeding what they make and start year 2 with a few hundred strawberry plants. youre going to want at least 5 sheds filled with kegs i went with 6 and overshot the money margin by 8 million. once you know your good for cash and will make it comfortably, stop planting starfruit on the island and clear the farm for the snake vertabrae dig spots. in winter of year 1 you should have plenty of spare cash if you stocked a few strawberries you wont need much to refill the farm so buy 700-800 copper ore around the same in iron around 200-300 coal and a few stacks of wood from robin, whatever youre comfortable with. just be aware youre gonna wish you bought more while it was still cheap. in year 2 when buying sheds buy the wood from robin and take your own stone, you'll have plenty of it and its better than spending all the time you dont have chopping and replanting trees. remember; buying copper and iron is an investment that soon pays itself off. time is your most valuable resource, spend it wisely and never EVER miss a birthday. hope this helped. :D
disagree about the silo part. it's extra cheap and if you build it early on, you get the hay supply for a long time, without having to rely on Marnie. I always build a silo before I cut my first grass on the farm
My biggest thing was i didnt realise you could hold down the mouse (pc) to pick multiple crops by walking. I was individually clicking to pick each crop and craft each wooden floor tile.
I thought fishing was impossible but I didn't get animals or the greenhouse for my first winter so I had too much time on my hands...the training rod to level the first three levels changed everything.
Big advise: Buy Wood chippers and set up mahogany tree farms, it will save you so much time when you need wood or coal for making so many artisan stations or buildings
i hated fishing at first but i stuck with it and it became one of the best parts or the game for me i love fishing now so much that will spend days just doing that rain sun snow if i feel like fishing ill spend the hole day that way
Idk what you’re talking about with winter being boring. I’ve always loved winter! I have animals to keep my money going and it’s relaxing. Except for the hay issue. That’s the most stressful part of winter for me. The hay. Eugh.
The last one is really important. I just started playing Stardew Valley and whenever i look up content to find out how to get certain things they already expect you to be experts in things. For example they already want you to reach level 40-80 in the mines in just your first spring or summer- i havent even gotten past level 15 because i just am not good in combat games- and thats okay- take the time you need in order to get everything ready and you'll be okay- no rush with anything
Honestly about the whole "don't sell everything" bit. I just dump some stuff I found on the ground inside as well as some fish (if I managed to even catch one because I'm not used to the fishing mechanics yet)
They are a type of sign.. you can put items on signs (you will get to keep the item, it just copies it). I can explain more if you don’t mind potential spoilers
"Don't sell everything" Yeah i learned the lesson in Terraria and im not going to do the same mistake here XD "Don't ognore fishing" Same thing as the before but i have a question , how can i improve fishing because it seems pretty hard later on ? Some fishes are impossible for me to catch
0:05/0:27 I decided a while ago on what I would do that day based on the Luck. Neutral to Good Humor is Mines, Very Happy is either Clint or Mines depending on how many Geodes I have, and anything below neutral is fishing. Unless it's Saturday, then I'm foraging. 1:55 I collect things in a chest (Mushrooms, Starred Items that are not Foragables or Crops, etc.) and then sell them on the 28th. If they are not Starred, I keep them in a designated chest. I especially do that because if what they want, I have but as a Starred Item, it would have been better to sell the item than use them in a Quest or something. Unless the Quest gives more than the item I have costs. 2:33 My first Farm was the River one because I wanted practice with it. Eventually, after a few hours of practice, I enjoyed it so it became something to do before I sleep.
FYI, what you get in a geode is pre-determined by your game seed when you create the file. It's a widely-held belief that daily luck affects geode contents - it does not. Feel free to take geodes to Clint whenever. You might actually reserve the occasional Very Happy day for fishing, you can get more/better treasure chests. Or - and this might sound crazy, but if you're burnt out on the mines - chop wood for resources. You get more wood dropped from trees on good luck days.
Be careful when grabbing gems out of a crystallarium. It's really easy to accidentally put in a gem into the crystallarium that you didn't mean to reproduce.
Then you can just hit the crystilarium with your tools until it turns into an inventory item. Then you can place a different jewel in and it works just the same! :)
In the future, I would unlock the bridge once I get the recipe for the beach totem. Is it even possible to get coral outside that area and the trader? It's still my first playthorugh but I might have just had bad luck on the beach before I unlocked it.
What I don't get about the well is we don't even really need one. We can fill the watering can at any pond or river on our farm, and there's even a little trough to do that in the greenhouse.
Yeah I leave decorating to my younger sister closest I go to decorating is making sure that I have a decently fenced area for the animals and a good amount of area in farms outside of the Hill Farm which was the one that me and my sister played on for growing decent crops but Ginger Island I made it to Ginger Island and year 2 I still haven't made it to year 3 on my own mind you I made it to Ginger Island and once you're there at the Hill Farms minor size is no problem
How much farm land do you need in the middle game? Also is there a faster way harvesting and planting crops in mobile? Tapping every single tile takes a long time.
Most important reminder to myself: As soon as you unlock the farm in Ginger island don't go there without a TV and don't miss the year 2 cooking recipes.
i haven't played for a while, i pretty much did everything but i shall pop back and see what the update it all about but im not sure i could face starting from scratch again as it's a very grindy/receptive game, I also got a bit board with farming and dealing with animals all the time so i started building loads of fish pounds. I even had a shed just for fish tanks lol
I was set on fishing the community center in year 1 or 2 and I quickly realized that it was way too much for me. I just finished it and i’m on year 4. Also it’s hard to have buildings and a lot of crops on the river farm but i’m slowly figuring out how to fit all the ones I need
it is possible, but requires a strict guide and unfortunely some luck in the red cabbage section. and if you forget a season exclusive or weather exclusive, it take ages. i only recommend it to veteran stardew players like those who more or less know where to go and when they need that etc.

I would argue that the early bridge IS very much worth it, for multiple reasons:
1) The second beach is a separate area to the normal beach, and as such makes a trip to the beach much more lucrative.
1 wood = 50g at Robine's house ^^ so 300 woods = 15 000g. Not really 3000 xD
@@Fizzwidjet70 year 1 wood is 10g at Robin's. Trust me, I know for sure because I usually buy an entire chest of wood from Robin in winter year 1 to have a stockpile

you are both correct. wood costs 10g in year 1, 50g after that.
I always build the bridge for the coral. Early on, even Sandy's 80g price tag per Deluxe Speed-Gro is a bit too steep, so I mass-tap oaks and stockpile coral until I unlock the recipe.

Wha....how.... have you never used a watering can in real life? ....or any other game in existence?
@@sashacupcakelady6695 tf? Yes you do
Robin literally tells you about getting a well to refill your watering can once you pick up 100 stones, you will now be immortalized as a reminder to read all the letters you get
@@itsgonnabeanaurfromme I just didn't realise you could refill it!
It's only a problem if you're new to the game. When you're hundreds of hours in, planning and executing on multiple tasks every day comes naturally.
*First winter is so profitable!*
My first winter I was absolutely out of money so I started tilling soil in search for winter roots and snow yams.

You can also plant trees at the train station. I like to fill it with pine, I think it also looks nice that way.
Oh yay! That keg tip…Tysm for sharing.
Fill quarry with tapped trees and plant one on your farm to see if when they're ready. Low effort oak resin.
That keg idea is great!
I always put 1 keg in the kitchen and fill it last. That way I know when that one is done, the shed is too.
Mountain Lake is a perfect starting point to fishing:
- Carp is the easiest fish in the game (perfect catches are doable even at Lv1)
- Players will find all 4 fishes in the Lake Bundle here (last one is Summer/Winter-only)
- Hardest year-round fish there is still catchable with the Training Rod
- It's only fitting for people to start here, given the "endgame" is also here.
@@SonnyFRST by kids these days do u mean 5 year olds, fishing isn’t that hard u don’t need to train on it
Tip: after you get the Golden Lewis Statue put it on wherever on the town and Lewis will write you a letter with 750 g (you can only do this once), also wherever you place it it will be replaced with a rotten plant and the Statue will end up on Lewis's room(or in rare cases on Marnie's Room)
All fun and games until a villager walks through it
@@mr.sniffly5297 There are specific tiles that are safe bc no one ever walks through them. I think there's a map or some guide on the wiki, and I use it whenever placing chests and other stuff around town

Someone had made a comment that if you place it inside a building then it'll remain there, haven't tested it though.
You can also place it on Ginger Island and it is unaffected there
I'm late to this video but I just had to say that luck most definitely affects more than just finding ladders in the mine, and is actually a very useful mechanic that comes in handy if you're utilizing it correctly. It affects fishing, combat, and the amounts and qualities of loot that you can get from mining, as well as the other activities. It can make your life a whole lot easier to do certain things on lucky days rather than unlucky ones. It's by no means required, it's just very useful and can save you time and energy.

Same lol
Y’all really didn’t pay attention at the opening of the game 💀
I know it's been a year but how does that happen?? Did you skip the first cutscene of the game on your first playthroughs????
You make some really nice points, but I think building the beach bridge early is a good idea. Yes, it costs a lot of wood, but if you have the extra wood or even if you simply farm trees sustainably, you can find a lot of valuable things on the other side of the bridge, like sea urchins and clams, which sell for a lot and help up the foraging skill. Great video!
Completely agree! Every money is good in the early game
The most important do is enjoy and explore the game at your own pace, and most important dont rush if you are new to the game
i think this is really important. on my first save where i actually kind of understood the game i took it really slow. i didn’t finish the community center until year 2 was almost over. same with a prismatic shard. took ages. i also still use the wiki all the time. i always keep a wiki tab open in my browser
I’m quickly realizing how much of this advice is fully applicable to real life
I knew most of these things as a veteran player, but a few of these tips are rarely thought of and mentioned. I learned knew things with it. Thanks.
Legia LXIX Vallis Rore Stellarum Veteran.
First run through the game, on year three and looking at how aesthetic you guys make your farm is crazy go those who actualy make it pretty. Mine is 100% production focus
Also consider using Fishpond with Lava eels if you want consistent spicy eel, gold or magma geodes, their roe is also the most valuable when aged
Aren't crab cakes strictly better? Eat one at 6 am, and have a free inventory slot the rest of the day.
Thanks so much for all these tips and tricks ! I started playing stardew valley a month ago and already finished my community center!
Stardew Valley Predictor is a lifesaver for that, it’ll show u the predetermined item for whatever you’re opening
I’m confused how were telling differences in geodes
Thank you for saying this, I can't believe I've been saving all my geodes for the good luck days when it didn't even matter
I don't sell everything I have I just dump it in a chest and don't sell most of the time

Don't go to the mines on a non-lucky day.
I went there on a BAD luck day and got a PRISMATIC SHARD
@@anna_revesz You can still get drops, they just aren't as frequent.
Luck doesn't control you, it just helps you.
I've got ancient seeds from a crafting recipe, I've got foragables for days, I get stuff like cabbage, coffee, and rice as loot drops from enemies, and of course mixed seeds
gains me a few random crops here and there which I stockpile.
But that makes things easier on me, as it leaves me a lot more time to focus on mining and foraging, and keeping an eye on other things without having to constantly check
on a giant field of crops.
Honestly ive been playing the game for about a year now, and still almost know nothing about it other than basic stuff, so this video helps
I recorded the pattern with my phone and watched it from the video without any hurry. Easy. 😅
@@ZanZu87 brilliant but lazy i love it
I do mine in the first spring, I just wait till the forecast says it's a rainy day the next day and go get it done before.
1:45 Watching everything get sold out thrown away just skyrocketed my stress levels... 😩
2:04 OMG this! this set up brings so much joy to my heart!
I always start a playthrough with the goal of completing Community Center (mixed) in year 1 plus another challenge. It makes every playthrough fresh and enjoyable for me.
Today I learned you can sell more than 1 item per day on the container near your farm lol
Many thanks for the video :)
when i first started playing (like, less than a month ago lol) i named my farm "fair farm" so it read as "fair farm farm". i also didn't know the elevator in the mines could actually be used. or that you could loot minecarts/bags/etc. full of coal. c':
The only thing I regretted is not growing the beans during spring because I freaking hate beans. Now it's the only item left needed to complete the bundle so that I can have a greenhouse...
Definitely befriend npcs as they gift you free stuff and heart decay stops once at max hearts, would recommend going for only 3-4 at a time though.
Agree: in early game, friend Up the folks who are in the bar on Friday night. The kids last- they don't give you anything.
I had NO idea until today that you could upgrade the friend cabins. My mind is BLOWN
This game has so much content, once I figure stuff out, all i want to do is share it with someone ha
i recently did this no mods, no cheats or manipulations. basically, the best tips for it are typical early game money strategies i.e potatoes into strawberries etc.
dont try to befriend anyone too much in year 1 outside birthdays in which case give them the best quality gift you can give them without going too far out of your way and always put either a sturgeon or gold star purple mushroom in the potluck soup. i planted a few blue jazz and spangles for gifts (Jas and Caroline) maybe 4 of each.
aim for 2 pigs by mid summer that was my benchmark then make a coop for community centre/ year 2 gifting (rabbits feet/goats cheese etc)
aim for around 600 crops by fall year 1 you should be making a shed or 2 by this point, plant mostly pumpkins and juice them
clear a space somewhere with enough space for 50-60 oak trees and space them out and place paths between them for a resin farm this will seem alot at first and you'll stockpile quite a bit of resin but you'll need it all eventually.
farm dust sprites as the 1st thing on the protector list after reacing level 100 and unlocking gold and the stardrop and abuse the burglar ring for extra coal while farming godless amounts of iron
clear all the trees in the forest before the ones on your farm and replant every now and then when you get a big space youre not using for crops.
save 10-15 strawberries and seed them for the greenhouse, keep seeding what they make and start year 2 with a few hundred strawberry plants.
youre going to want at least 5 sheds filled with kegs i went with 6 and overshot the money margin by 8 million.
once you know your good for cash and will make it comfortably, stop planting starfruit on the island and clear the farm for the snake vertabrae dig spots.
in winter of year 1 you should have plenty of spare cash if you stocked a few strawberries you wont need much to refill the farm so buy 700-800 copper ore around the same in iron around 200-300 coal and a few stacks of wood from robin, whatever youre comfortable with. just be aware youre gonna wish you bought more while it was still cheap.
in year 2 when buying sheds buy the wood from robin and take your own stone, you'll have plenty of it and its better than spending all the time you dont have chopping and replanting trees.
remember; buying copper and iron is an investment that soon pays itself off. time is your most valuable resource, spend it wisely
and never EVER miss a birthday.
hope this helped. :D
who knew you should have been keeping stupid Joja cola for "blue" item on Ginger Island?!!
disagree about the silo part. it's extra cheap and if you build it early on, you get the hay supply for a long time, without having to rely on Marnie. I always build a silo before I cut my first grass on the farm
Awesome video! Definitely motivated me to look at the game differently! Thanks!
My biggest thing was i didnt realise you could hold down the mouse (pc) to pick multiple crops by walking. I was individually clicking to pick each crop and craft each wooden floor tile.
WAIT WHAT???
@@kHz0 Yeah. If you hold down the right mouse button and just walk through the ripened crops, they'll just popopopop right into your hands.

well in my first winter, I usually try to get winter crops to up my foraging skill a lot.
"It doesn't rain that often, right?"
*Me sitting through 5 straight days of rain*
0:45 well no, you don’t need friends unless your doing a completion rum
I always check the weather, if it's raining the next day, I water my plants and use this chance to upgrade my watering can.
i hated fishing at first but i stuck with it and it became one of the best parts or the game for me i love fishing now so much that will spend days just doing that rain sun snow if i feel like fishing ill spend the hole day that way
thank you dear this is really helpful cuz im the kind who tries to do bit of everything a day which gets me frustrated
I love this, there are some tips i will use. The focus on one task a day is great!! I should start doing that after my morning routine❤
First tip is so right. Current playthrough I found ancient seeds twice in the first year on "maybe you should stay home" days.
Also for me a good advice is play as you want to! the final idea of the game is having fun after all, not stressing about it :)
Very helpful video, on my first playthrough with about 30 hours. Absolutely love this game!!
Idk what you’re talking about with winter being boring. I’ve always loved winter! I have animals to keep my money going and it’s relaxing. Except for the hay issue. That’s the most stressful part of winter for me. The hay. Eugh.
get artisan skill at level 10 farm, sell milk, mayonnaise and cheese, buy hay from marnie and repeat
"And it doesn't rain that often, right?" Cue that time it rained for a week straight for me. Fortunately, I had a silo. XD
Cracking up at the Animal Crossing sound!
Tip always put the first dinosaur egg you find in the incubator in the coop
The last one is really important. I just started playing Stardew Valley and whenever i look up content to find out how to get certain things they already expect you to be experts in things. For example they already want you to reach level 40-80 in the mines in just your first spring or summer- i havent even gotten past level 15 because i just am not good in combat games- and thats okay- take the time you need in order to get everything ready and you'll be okay- no rush with anything
2:30 why does everybody think people are discoraged from fishing because its "hard"? Its just boring as fuck
Honestly about the whole "don't sell everything" bit. I just dump some stuff I found on the ground inside as well as some fish (if I managed to even catch one because I'm not used to the fishing mechanics yet)
4:14 I can't find an answer how to upgrade cabins in singleplayer tho
anyone else find ginger island too stressful and get annoyed when all the villagers go there instead of hanging around where you need them?
Tips: close down the place the villagwr hangout with the sign near the changing booth.
this game makes me very happy. I have a cat exactly like mine that i named after my actual cat. I streamed it for 4 hours, i just now ended.
Awesome video thanks! Could you tell me how you get the icons above the chests @02:00?
They are a type of sign.. you can put items on signs (you will get to keep the item, it just copies it). I can explain more if you don’t mind potential spoilers
I mean I kinda just want a shed cuz it looks cool, and its something I think adds to the atmosphere, like the well.
"Don't sell everything"
Yeah i learned the lesson in Terraria and im not going to do the same mistake here XD
"Don't ognore fishing"
Same thing as the before but i have a question , how can i improve fishing because it seems pretty hard later on ?
Dont do the beach farm unless you want to run out of space for your buildings 😉
Fishing will NEVER be my favorite pastime lol good video
Always feel guilty pulling the wiki up when I need to find out something, videos like these ease the guilt a little. Plus they're fun
This is great advice video. Thank you!
This happens to me every fucking time. I’m stuck making amethyst and can’t stop it
also plan your tool upgrades around Clint's community center day (I forgot what weekday it is)
Those are actually really helpful. because I struggled with many of them
Wait how can you upgrade the cabins doesn't a person who owns it need to?
I have this game to but on my tabelet really cool video! Continue doing videos!
Love the casual animal crossing music in the video 😂😂
In the future, I would unlock the bridge once I get the recipe for the beach totem. Is it even possible to get coral outside that area and the trader? It's still my first playthorugh but I might have just had bad luck on the beach before I unlocked it.
I keep at least 5 of everything. Fish ponds ask for some wildddd things…

But she said to finish CC before 1st year winter 😂
I’m having trouble getting clay and I can’t find the worms in the ground? Could you guys give me some tips to give me a hand for a silo
finnaly new video..
What I don't get about the well is we don't even really need one. We can fill the watering can at any pond or river on our farm, and there's even a little trough to do that in the greenhouse.
Do; play the game how you would even if it's wrong to other people. It's a relaxing game enjoy it how you will, whether that means min maxing or not.
I love how the game caters to different multiplayer styles like this 💜💜
How much farm land do you need in the middle game? Also is there a faster way harvesting and planting crops in mobile? Tapping every single tile takes a long time.
You can plant & water faster when you upgrade hoe and w/Can
Most important reminder to myself: As soon as you unlock the farm in Ginger island don't go there without a TV and don't miss the year 2 cooking recipes.
i haven't played for a while, i pretty much did everything but i shall pop back and see what the update it all about but im not sure i could face starting from scratch again as it's a very grindy/receptive game, I also got a bit board with farming and dealing with animals all the time so i started building loads of fish pounds. I even had a shed just for fish tanks lol
4:16 what statues are those??
I was set on fishing the community center in year 1 or 2 and I quickly realized that it was way too much for me. I just finished it and i’m on year 4. Also it’s hard to have buildings and a lot of crops on the river farm but i’m slowly figuring out how to fit all the ones I need
it is possible, but requires a strict guide and unfortunely some luck in the red cabbage section. and if you forget a season exclusive or weather exclusive, it take ages. i only recommend it to veteran stardew players like those who more or less know where to go and when they need that etc.
Reparar el puente de la playa en los inicios de la partida te puede proveer muchos recolectables que puedes vender, y el dinero es muy necesario al comenzar.
Just plant winter seeds your first winter and watch the foraging experience add up. Plus...money!
