Restoring An Old Hand Cranked Drill - A Blast From The Past!

  • My dad bought this vintage drill at a yard sale. It didn't turn and it was very rusty. I disassembled it completely and removed the rust with electrolysis. Some parts were nickel plated to give them a nice look and extra rust protection. The drill is of the make Venusberg and was made around 1950 in Germany.

    This was a work of art, the drill should be framed and hung on the wall. The amount of hours spent just moving cameras around and taking those beautiful shots is just to admire. You proved in each video that you care about the items you restore and truly give them a second life. That is matters and I highly respect your work, passion and your creativity. Be patient, your efforts will pay off!

    Great work, so shiny. Love the blue colour! Mesmerising shots of the nickel plating, I love watching the bubbles fizz off the parts.
    I think some of the video cuts needed a transition, like fade to black (to signify time has passed), and cross fade so some transitions are less jarring for the viewer.

    • @RestoredChannel
      @RestoredChannel  3 роки тому

      Thanks for the great feedback, I agree will probably have more subtle transitions in future videos. I'm glad you liked it, thanks for the support!🍻 Yes the bubbles are really relaxing to watch👌😁

    Hello fellow Swede (yes, I spotted some common tool brands before I checked the about-page 😉)! Just wanna say a few things: first of all, your workshop is probably cleaner than my living room, god damn! Second: holy crap, that camera work is amazing, what do you use for recording your videos, I don't get nearly that level of quality. And lastly: love your "stuff made here"-visualization on the tablet! Keep up the good work, you just gained a new subscriber! 😀

      Hi there😁 thank you for the kind words I appreciate it! Haha I try to keep it neat but it's a real mess behind the camera😉 I shoot with my phone, galaxy s20. Also I use Filmic pro for more control. You have great content, I just subbed👍 BTW, you were my 800'th sub😁! Welcome and stay tuned for more content.

    • @TryingToBuildStuff
      @TryingToBuildStuff 3 роки тому +1

      @@RestoredChannel 800, woho! I'm always ready for more content! And thanks alot for the feedback and sub, really appreciate that! You're shooting on an s20? Really? That's the same phone I have. I tried to use it but couldn't get the quality good enough so I recently bought a Canon M50 😅 not sure if it helped, starting to think it's my poor lighting on the shed that's making my video bad. Oh well! Looking forward to see more content from you!

    • @RestoredChannel
      @RestoredChannel  3 роки тому

      @@TryingToBuildStuff The M50 is a great upgrade. I think your videos look good but if you're not satisfied with the quality invest in lights, you can't have too many lights😁

    • @TryingToBuildStuff
      @TryingToBuildStuff 3 роки тому

      @@RestoredChannel thanks! And yes, I think better/more lights is the way to go. Looked at some raw footage from yesterday and it's still kinda crap, so I guess I need to upgrade my Jula-ledbars 😅
