I like your review of this yarn. I purchased two 3-packs and was concerned about how far it would go. You alleviated those concerns and I am looking forward to seeing the pattern for your top. I will subscribe to support your channel and off I go to explore! *Thanks for posting! ~New Subscriber*
I did try a hdc stitch garment with it and that eats up a lot of yarn but the looser stitches like my demo it certainly went quite far. What color did you buy? They have some lovely shades in this line!
@@livechilllifeIt's really a beautiful yarn. I purchased colors: slate, thistle (got two 3-packs), mauve, lilac, and tan. I ordered more after seeing your review. Joann's has them on sale right now.
I knit a lot of farmhouse washcloths out of all sorts of fibers. I loved the feel of the Trueboo and got 3 skeins. It split for me and I found that annoying. I also found that it loses all of its sheen after you wash it. I also found that it's very stretchy. Most significantly for my project, these washcloths hold a TON of water! I can't believe how much water you can wring out of one of these compared to a cotton washcloth. It's insane. I'm going to make my sister a sweater out of it and I hope it keeps its shape. I'm going to tell her to handwash or dryclean it.
If you do make a sweater out of it make sure you use a reinforced type wrapped stitch otherwise I’ve heard horror stories that they can grow double the size!
Have you blocked a project yet? I absolutely LOVE the look and feel of this yarn, but after I blocked the open weave top I made with it it GREW like crazy (my top is now a tunic!). I was careful when blocking not to stretch it out but man, I was surprised how much it loosened up. Is it just me?
Live. Chill. Life. I used a 4.5mm. The stitch pattern for this top is an open weave, and I should have expected it to stretch a bit, but woah! It grew about 7”!! It’s my first experience with bamboo yarn, and as I said I absolutely love the look and feel of it but I’m thinking there’s a learning curve for how to work with it.
i've never blocked any of my projects before- If i just handwash it and lay flat to dry would it still stretch out? I saw that nuboo stetches after blocking too so now I'm worried about using each one 🥲
@@sangyeonlove7691 hand washing and laying flat to dry = blocking, and yes, it will stretch out. How much depends on the stitch. I’ve made several truboo projects in the past year and I absolutely love them, the yarn feels amazing on the body, you just need to know what it’s going to do. Stephanie suggested to me to block as I go and I’ve done it ever since - life changer! So now before seaming or shaping anything like armholes or necklines I give it a bath and see how much it relaxes. Once you do it a couple of times you’ll have a better idea what to expect. Jump in and give it a try, it’s worth it.
I love yarn with shine. One of the reasons I like Caron Soft. Really want to try a fiber yarn. Thanks!
It’s lovely to have yarn with shine! Check out the nuboo yarn they have now. I have a newer review on my channel of that one :)

My pleasure 😊

Tracy Maurstad I have not blocked it yet. What size hook did you use?

@@tracyvision thanks so much for the reply!
why doesn't the shine last ? I'm not going to be washing the project.
The friction of working with it and wearing it slightly breaks down the fiber.
@@livechilllife I see, thank you for your wonderful videos!
