- This is a demonstration of the three breathing exercises referenced in the study below. I do these twice a day, twenty repetitions for each of the three exercises.
Study name: New pulmonary rehabilitation exercise for pulmonary fibrosis to improve the pulmonary function and quality of life of patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis: a randomized control trial

Thank you for your video! I can barely walk without getting winded... So I'm so grateful you're sharing what you know!!
Lee have an apology to make on hearing your claim about how much your lung function had improved i dismissed that claim. However after doing the recommended stretches my VO2 score has shot up from 26 to 41 cant thank you enough for the video
IPF patient, long past my expected departure date. Lowest o2 reading from simple walks as short as 50' have been in the mid to high 70's. 100' walk from car to exam room at my GP dropped my o2 to 81 just a few days ago.
Pulmonologist and GP dr wait til the end of my appts now to have me take a deep breath so they can listen to my lungs, because it always triggers massive coughing fits. Last appt with pulmonologist ended with him saying "That's what's going to kill you", talking about the cough. Those fits can last 5 to 10 minutes straight. It's always comical when one of them or their staff asks if I need a drink of water. (The cough is from the lungs, not something caught in my throat. Water isn't gong to help.)
Bending down or twisting abdomen will also cause o2 to plummet and bring on a coughing fit. Leaning back in a recliner is another no-no, due to the coughing, and definitely no sleeping flat on my back. Basically, anything that requires chest/abdomen contortion is an iffy situation.
I'd be happy just to not have this cough. The low o2 can be managed with supplemental o2 and paying attention to exertion.
We take simple things for granted when we're healthy.

I completely understand, my situation is very similar, the coughing is ridiculous for me

Right on Lee!
Thanks, Lee. I couldn't find my article that showed how to do this and I couldn't remember. I haven't seen this on PF warriors, would you mind if I shared it there? I think they would really benefit from this. 👍👍
Brilliant video have used these and cant believe the difference the stretching has done to my breathing capacity many thanks for sharing
how long have you had PF? Have the exercises improved your breathing on tests?
it feel good, I have emphysema, stage 4, 30% lung. will these exercises benefit me?
They diagnosed me with PF there has been sod all change after 2.5 years so after eventually coming to terms with the condition now they are not sure I still get out of breath so got to go all threw the tests again. Perhaps it's me lugging 30-40 suit cases each day into my coach perhaps that's what has helped me with my lungs. But I'll try your exercises . Anything to help has got to be a good thing.
Thank you, it was great)
