  • Got to attend the Bronco Off-Roadeo in Gunstock New Hampshire on opening day! While we already know how great the Bronco is, it was nice to experience them off the pavement being guided by professionals. The course snakes through the mountains with many technical aspects, some open driving, massive climbs and tight spaces between trees. The course is professionally designed and it shows. This event while very challenging at times is geared towards the absolute most novice off-roader (such as myself).
    I highly recommend you sign up and I can't wait to take delivery to explore more of what New Hampshire and the surrounding areas has to offer.
    Special thanks to FougeTube for attending, spotting and providing some great video content of the day.

    You had given me some advice about the Bronco Off Roadeo a few weeks back and thought you would like to see what I wrote the Off Roadeo Folks
    Bronco off rodeo headquarters,
    I wanted to take a few minutes and address my adventure on June 1 at the bronco off rodeo location in New Hampshire.
    My process of purchasing and ordering my Bronco has been so incredibly positive from the help that I received from the general manager David Toomey
    of the Ford store at Empire Ford to my sales person Hal Abrahamson.
    They were so great that I brought my cousin to the dealership and she purchased a Expedition.
    I was even invited to attend the bronco odf rodeo in New Hampshire as a guest event that Dave Toomey and Empire Ford was sponsoring sometime in the middle of June, but due to the following information that I will reveal my wife and I attended on our own.
    First and foremost this adventure was planned out far in advance and much planning had to go into this one day trip for us from Long Island New York.
    My wife Marion was my guest.
    Marion had a complete life-saving liver transplant several months back brought on from a bad reaction to a antibiotic.
    As you can imagine after having such an incredibly major transplant surgery the recovery has been long, hard, painful and continues to be such.
    You can’t imagine the emotions and the emotional state of mental health that you’re in after you’ve gone through such an incredible surgery, plus the debilitation of you physically.
    Marion has not been out of the house much nor has she been experiencing life as we knew it prior to her transplant. We haven’t had any fun over the last few months.
    This Bronco adventure took place on the eighth month anniversary of her transplant and she was so looking forward to it because this was going to give her an opportunity to have fun and really really feel alive again.
    I had several conversations previous to arrival over the previous months in reference to what Marion might experience, how rough the ride might be how clean the facilities that we were going to stay at we’re at the steel hill resort, special dietary needs and special arrangements so that Marion could be driven up to the hilltop rather than take a ski lift.
    Every and all special requests and arrangements were actually made and carried out completely without exception by your team at bronco off rodeo in New Hampshire.
    During the approximately 10 hours that we spent that day of the approximate eight hours of driving, I’d say that my wife did 7 1/2 of the hours driving she and had so much fun.
    This is important… For the first time in 8 months she smiled, laughed and had fun. She was so happy during the day it was a blessing to us.
    As someone that has purchased and gone through over 93 new vehicles since 1977 and been too many automotive events, I can tell you quite honestly that this was the most rewarding fun exciting and educational event of any automotive event that I’ve ever attended.
    Now to your staff. Despite the fact that June 1 was an extremely rainy day with heavy weather at times our experience was not dampened in any way shape or form by becoming wet.
    Tyler Skinner the guest service supervisor was so accommodating to Marion.
    I can’t begin to tell you, because of Marions liver transplant we had very special needs for food and accommodations etc and Tyler just went out of her way to do everything that we needed, including running downstairs and using the microwave to warm up some of Marion’s food that we had kept cold and frozen with dry ice.
    Taylor was compassionate to Marion understanding of her needs and went out of her way to make Marion feel comfortable, secure, safe and included in everything that was going on while we were at home base. She wasn’t left out of anything!
    Now about our special Tour Guide, Hank Hoover. As someone that had a business employing 185 people for over 25 years I can tell you that Hank is somebody that I would have loved to have had as one of my employees.
    Thank you Hank.
    …. Hank gave us a brief history on himself, Ford, the Ford bronco and then educated us on safety and all the special features of the bronco itself.
    Despite the rain and Hank getting twice as wet as anybody else that was there he took his time to explain every feature and how to go about going out on the trail safely… the demonstration trail was helpful to us all and gave us an idea of what we would see during the following hours that we would be spending on the trails and rocks.
    I had spoken to Hank earlier in the morning and let him know about Marion special needs. Hank arranged for us to have one of the Broncos that did not have the Sasquatch package so that it would be easier for Marion to get in and out of the vehicle, as the base Badlands on 33‘s was less of a climb than the other Broncos there that had 35 inch tires.
    He gave Marion very special attention during the day. He continued to check on Marion‘s progress, her comfort and to make sure she was safe consistently through the day ! He was caring.
    He let us know what was coming up on the trail ahead of time so we knew what to expect and he made it easy for any bathroom breaks that we needed for Marion and accommodated her as if he was looking out for his own family member.
    Besides the fact of his fun personality and his humanity, giving Marion some special attention, he was an extremely nice man, calm and an unbelievably knowledgeable guide concerning the course, the features of the vehicle, and making sure that we were all extremely safe.
    I just wanted to take a few moments to write this brief letter so that you would be able to acknowledge and thank Hank Hoover and Tyler Skinner for us.
    What a fantastic time we had and how much we appreciated how Tyler and Hank went out of their way to make sure that we had the most marvelous time, learned everything we could and made sure that we were safe and secure.
    From the bottom of my heart I wanted to thank everyone ….thank you all so very much
    Ronald Steiger and Marion Steiger.

      This is the best thing i've read in some time! Ronald, what you provided for your wife as an experience and thanks to Ford for setting it up, is simply amazing! I am thrilled to hear you had a good Off-Roadeo, and hopefully my responses helped answer some of your questions. The NH staff was amazing to me and my guest and I expected no less, but to hear they went above and beyond for Marian to have a fun event is simply amazing!
      What is the FB group you started? Thank you for staying in touch and I wish your wife a great and healthy recovery. You did a great thing for her and I doubt she'll ever forget that day!

    Great video! I was the gal who came from PA to do this. Not only was this incredibly fun, but also very instructive. I didn't take out extra insurance ... and during the course I regretted that decision---but it added to the adventure! It is completely "doable" solo but extra eyes in the Bronco would have been nice.

    • @CoderMan

      Thank you and honestly doing it solo and driving up from PA? Total respect for that! Funny enough we had just returned from PA the day before at Sesame Land. Hope you get some news from Ford soon!

    Great video. I just attended the Off-Roadeo in Austin and had the best experience. It was worth buying the Bronco just to attend this class. The staff were very friendly, the facilities were top notch and the food was excellent. In the future, I hope they allow non owners to experience the Bronco and off roading.

    I’ve got an Eruption Green 2 door Big Bend coming this summer! And once I get it I’m going to take it to NH for this! I live in VA. 8 hour drive won’t hurt!

    How bumpy is the Bronco Off Rodeo in New Hampshire
    Concerned because of recent abdominal surgery.

    • @CoderMan
      @CoderMan  2 роки тому

      That's a great question, it can be fairly bumpy in parts of the trails. Especially some of the more technical components. I probably would wait a bit to heal up and then attend.

    Very Nice! I was thinking of going to Moab, but you may have changed my mind

    • @CoderMan

      Moab was my goto before New Hampshire opened up. I still hope to go someday in the future but not sure how long the program will last. I highly recommend NH though!

    Does anyone bring their own Bronco and do the course with it. I know I'd like to get to know MY Bronco in such a scenario.

      I am not sure if insurance would allow it but definitely something to ask them.

    What kind of things to do in the general area after the Bronco OffRodeo if your spending a few days in the area

    • @CoderMan
      @CoderMan  2 роки тому

      Great question! Lots of nice trails (walking), there is a kid friendly hotel close by. Red Jacket I believe is the name and NH is genuinely just beautiful to explore.

  • @ronaldsteiger7562

    Was there a lot of walking in the beginning trading and sluce box ??

    • @CoderMan
      @CoderMan  2 роки тому +1

      Actually not too much walking overall. A bit from basecamp to the training areas, though 99% is driving. You do a little at lunch but again it's minimal.

  • @ColinKlapka

    Any badlands sports there?

    • @CoderMan
      @CoderMan  2 роки тому +1

      I didn't see any sports at the off Roadeo. I know it's capable of running at least Texas. Not sure about New Hampshire with the steep trails.

  • @ronaldsteiger7562
    @ronaldsteiger7562 2 роки тому +1

    Don’t laugh but serious questions
    You said one of the trails was about two hours and the other about 4 hours
    What do u do when you HAVE TO go to the bathroom … seriously is there a way to get off trail and get back to a base camp or so either place to go ?

    • @CoderMan
      @CoderMan  2 роки тому

      Not a silly question at all. So they recommend you use the bathroom before each session and only drink as much water as required to limit how often you need to go.

  • @ronaldsteiger7562
    @ronaldsteiger7562 2 роки тому +1

    Do they have you air down the tires ?

    • @CoderMan
      @CoderMan  2 роки тому

      They set the vehicle up (not sure if its aired down or not. I would suspect it is) for the full day, nothing required by the guests.

    Excellent video! We just got the email invite and being from PA I didn’t want to spend a ton of money in airfare and was wondering about NH. I haven’t signed up yet . So from your video it sounds like you can bring a guest? My wife and I want to do it I was just wondering if there was an extra fee for the both of us. I’m going to see if we can get up this fall and make a weekend of it. Thanks again for sharing.

    • @CoderMan
      @CoderMan  2 роки тому

      Thanks for watching! You're correct, a guest can go. Your ticket is covered by your deposit for a Bronco (you get reimbursed) but a guest needs to pay about $295 if I remember correctly. They get to drive as much as you want to swap off. We switched at the beginning or end of the various components of the trail. I highly recommend making a weekend of it, New Hampshire is beautiful to explore.

      Just booked it for late October. After watching your video I am definitely excited. Did you stay at one of the host hotels or any hotel you can recommend?Looks like lots of local hotels.

    • @CoderMan
      @CoderMan  2 роки тому

      @@andrewplummer303 Awesome!! I can't really recommend any hotels as we drove up from Boston, but I would say look for hotel reviews for Gunstock mountain. The Margate and Center Harbor look nice.

    Do you have to pay extra for insurance?

      It's not required but for $75 they do offer insurance. Based on the type of driving I recommend it.
