This was an acting masterclass in under 7 minutes. Their brains work so fast, and they incorporate so many emotions, feelings, and depth into 3 lines of acting. Unbelievably good.
When Bryan noticed the baguette was ready he did that Hal “ah I just remembered” look. That was kind of comedic and reminded me of Malcolm in the Middle. Good times
such an exquisite video to watch. Wouldn't it be amazing if Rain and Bryan got the opportunity to work on something together? Otto would surely give it his baker's kiss.
As far as I've seen, very few do it. Craig Ferguson did the awkward pause with actors which was a fantastic display of acting, considering the guests were mostly Hollywood actors and there's also Andrew Santino wanting to do scenes from famous movies in his podcasts with different guests. All I've ever been a fan of in TV and movies is acting and writing, so this shit is right up my alley. I hope they do more of it.
@@snoookie456 but doing the scenes everyone knows by memory is too easy IMO. Improvising on the go is something else - it requires talent or skill...or both. It can show how good an actor or actress really is.
It's crazy how with these two actors when you see them out of character it messes with your head more. They're characters just seem so real and fleshed out haha. That's how you truly know an actor is incredible.
I’ve reached the pinnacle of life. Watching Bryan Cranston & Rainn Wilson take an imaginary baguette out of an imaginary oven on UA-cam on a Monday. Vive Le UA-cam!
Holy smokes! Thank you for doing this exercise!! I’m an actor that’s been at it for 6.5 years with no big credits to my name and career that is completely stagnant - this video has given me inspiration to do this type of exercise day in and day out to sharpen my skills. Thank you so much for this awesome idea Rainn!!
Rainn knew he was up against one of the greatest living actors but still graciously threw down the gauntlet to give Cranston licence to show off his craft. Great host.
I think i just literally had my first acting lesson. This was absolutely fascinating. It legitimately felt like two different scenes based solely on their performances. I know that's probably an absurdly obvious and novice observation, but I've personally never seen it demonstrated this simply and effectively.
Omg❤ I love it!!!!! RAINN make it look more like a deranged horror fiction character! And Brian like a normal person about to do a terrorífic act! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Bravo!
I think you’re confusing their names. Brian’s was the deranged one who’s salivating at feeding his spouse poisoned bread, while Rainn played a tormented guy choosing to put an end to misery for a loved one.
Omg even the coin flip was an act. I was perfectly still watching them act out their scenes, enamored. Then when they conversate, I'm cracking up because I love them so much. Awesome video.
What a couple of LEGENDS!! 🔥🔥 I never expected to watch an amazing seven minutes acting master class before going bed It blew my mind!! Both of you!! Love you Rainn and Brian!! 🫶🏻
And Cranston even burns himself. As a baker, you either are used to the out of oven bread (but the center is even hotter so cutting it without gloves out of the oven is a badass move) either he's tired as f
I think Bryan Cranston’s portrayal of a man that’s actually into the idea of an “Act Off” was award winning acting! 📽️🍿💥👏😮🎉🏆 He won before the game even started! 😆
That was interesting to see what it's like to see professional actors do something like that. Next time they gotta get a script where neither of the actors know what the script is. Just to balance things out.
When Cranston said "There it is" Wilson knew he was cooked. Not that you aren't both great actors, and I'm not saying Cranston is better, he wouldn't either I imagine, but in this competition he outdid Rainn. I misinterpreted Cranston though, I thought when he was about to take a bite he was going on a bakers instinct to taste the bread they baked before serving it to customers to make sure it's of good quality. Pure muscle memory from years of craftsmanship overriding the current plan, then remembering himself at the last minute.
I went into this thinking it was so stupid and how can you have any variation in it. After watching it I realised this is what true talent and acting is.
Don't be so hard on yourself Rainn. Dwight has a very firm place in the actor's pantheon! You were the perfect actor at the perfect time! I loved you in Super as well!
This was great! Can we get a scene with Dwight Schrute talking to Walter White about smuggling meth from Albuquerque to Scranton while using Dunder Mifflin for money laundering? 😂😂
I think Bryan was definitely better. However - I don’t know how versatile he is, but I can imagine other roles that might not fit him, like being Dwight and have that level of comedy but also seriousness. Not that he couldn’t do it, but there are just roles that fit him perfectly and playing a dark troubled character is definitely it.
Both are tremendous actors in their own way and style, but I got to say Bryan killed it. I agree with Rainn: his acting were much more meticulous and specific, kind of like a journey and a masterpiece of storytelling with the minimum.
I was so poised for Cranston to experience gestalt mid scene and expertly create actual bread of/for life to heal his wife and forego the serving of the poisoned loaf altogether.
Each of them has a unique way to tell the scene, Dwight should have gone second to learn from Walters experience 😅 what can I can get about Bryans version that made it slightly better is you can actually smell the baguette with him and the "oh darling.." but Dwight is really good at knowing why Bryans just made it a bit more specific and thats awesome too. So wholesome
god damn there was a damn arc with Cranston. Hell its almost a Dark Comedy. I really recomend HEARING his book as an audiobook. it gave me goosebumps at certain chapters where he dealt with his exgirlfriend almost the same stuff i felt while watching breaking bad. highly recomend his autobiography.. A LIFE IN PARTS.
I felt more for Rainn’s Otto and Bryan’s was mischievous like Walter White. I think I cared more for Rainn’s Otto and wanted to see where it went and Bryan gave us a mini story. Both so good. This was an awesome idea! 👏🏻
Could've went the comedic route like I thought Bryan was gonna do and almost forget it was poisonous and nearly take a bite cause it smells so good and then be like (with body language) "Ah ! Oh yeah ! nononononono, that was close"

Rainn was melancholy, Brian was sinister.

Yeah Rainn’s was good intentions, difficult actions. Brian was selfish intentions, sinister actions.
As a Frenchman, I'm honored to see Bryan Cranston play a character who thinks about poisoning himself with a baguette.

Yes. I think its so perfect, fresh and something new!! I wish SoulBoom will bring more of it!!
What do you think, maybe each guest should bring thier own idea too? so we will see 2 ACTS haha
Wow. Didnt know i needed this crossover. Subbing for sure
Chris D'elia did one with Bryan Callen a month ago, it was pretty funny. Maybe they inspired him. Cranston crushed it.

I feel like I should have paid for what I just witnessed. I'm craving more!
Well, to be fair, Wilson knew the scene beforehand 😏
Seeing Heisenberg in shorts and flipflops is wild
He starts off in his tighty whiteys in Breaking Bad
He relaxed a lot after his death.
ever see him in short shorts and rollerskates?
All I saw was Hal making bread lol
Watch Malcolm in the middle, he's half naked all the time
Dwight brings the good old pathos in the scene, while Cranston, keeping his heisenberg streak alive brings forth his inner schemer.
Cranston had you at the watch check.
For real 😂
damn when Bryan did it I could picture the whole scene and felt every emotion!! he's too good!!
👏
when Krasinski is on the show the act-off lines oughta be: “bears”, “beets”, “battlestar galactica”

I can totally see why Bryan Cranston is the Zeus and Dwight... well, is Assistant to the Zeus.
Fact. I am older than you. I am wiser than you. Do not mess with me

Love it, the best part of the clip was how they observed each other running through the skit. Loved when he said, "Oh Darling".lol
😆🙌
That was the greatest thing in the world, so raw. Id rather see actors try out sceenes and play with them, than watch a finished show...

You should be a casting director!
There's a concept here. An improv show with only the best actors alive, switching different scenes and scenarios... Would be awesome to watch.

Both convincing, Bryan did more with it, and Rainn kept it simple. Call it a draw.
