Nice job Mr Wink Face. Cheers for the mention, I want my videos to be more like yours but I can't edit them down enough!!!! I think this video would be perfect if you wanted to restore your own GB Advance, BUT when it comes to watching for entertainment you have the 10-14min videos down to a fine art. It is a tough one as the comments seem to be in favour of the longer ones which surprises me. You could possibly do a raw (30min) and edited version (10min) and then viewers have the choice, but it is a lot more work though for no extra views or money. For me I love watching your 10-14 min vids for your style with the music and editing :-)
Doing a My Mate Vince style is cool every once in a while, but I watch this channel for its unique style. And I watch My Mate Vince when I want that style. Just do your thing.
Seeing the full repair process is really interesting, I’m pretty fascinated by how easily you put it back together and it looks so amazing afterwards! Hitting me in the nostalgia, oof.
My favorite restoration videos are the more ASMR types where there’s no talking and just the sounds of you restoring the item in question. This was still a very good video and even made me want to rebuild my collection of gameboys. ;)
I think the more raw style is great! Especially for if someone’s aspiring to do their own console teardowns/repairs, it makes it easier for us to learn just how exactly consoles are taken apart! I do understand though how some people don’t enjoy longer takes so you could possibly do the MyMateVince route where he does a long video and a short video so you can satisfy more of your audience
It's great that we get to see the raw process of the repair. I think these type of videos show in depth the care and work that's been put to it, without loosing it's entertainment value ;)
Your probably not reading this but please don't change your video style it's amazing and helps fellow repairers with teardowns, replacements and much more.
😉 I believe the long form is important to cover all the small details that you might run into if it is your first time doing something like this (the springs on the triggers, the clip for the contacts etc.). Nice job!
Nothing wrong with having educational repair videos. I find it very interesting and have a want to learn to do this myself so it’s definitely nice to have that variety on your channel. I enjoy watching you do what you do.
@@TheRetroFuture soldering on camera makes everything about 10x harder, believe me I'm good with an iron and I struggle to do even large smd parts when there's a camera in the way.
@@sjm4306 The people that get really good at it use a microscope with a video feed hooked up to it. So instead of using a helping hands with a mounted magnifying glass they just look through a screen
I've been watching your channel for a year and a half, I like it when people repair and take care of things instead of throwing them away , greetings from argentina
Your videos inspired me to fix a gba for my brother. First repair I ever did and it turned out great. Bought it from J4U and put like $30 into it and he still plays it 2 years later. Nice paint job, the gameboy turned out great!
I pay attention to some of the bigger videos but these gameboy repairs are great for in queue/inbetween matches but I do own several gameboy and GBA's so there nice to kinda learn what's in them without some articles
Loved the longer format on this one, as you know I love a good refurb and this hit the spot. I especially liked that you did the painting - I feel I’ve been avoiding that since I’ve not done it before, but seeing you tackle it without issue has me thinking I ought just give it a try. You got me to solder, so it only makes sense you get me to paint too. 😂 This is one of my favorite videos and I think this one will make good reference material to point new folks to in order to learn. Well done, mate. Thanks for the cool video.
These types of videos are the reason why I had the confidence to take apart and fix my ps2 controller and to become curious enough to do these types of things myself. These types videos are probably the most important that I have seen in my child hood. Thank you.
My girlfriend came into the kitchen the other day saying "I heard the sink and thought you were doing dishes, then I remembered who you are. I knew you had another gameboy in there"
This video may be 3 years old but I picked up a GBA with faulty Start/Select buttons. With the help of this video I took the GBA apart, cleaned it up and it now works like new! Thanks for the detail and explaining things through the process.
What is this, a crossover episode? I also would like to see a video with both fixing something.. but I guess they live too off of each other (Jersey vs. UK?).
I know this is an old video, but I was watching a lot of your old restoration videos, and I keep hearing you say you think people like when you do editing to the videos, I prefer when you just talk, and I get to sorta interact with you and get more info on how you do your restoration. Love the content!
I just want to say that you can definitely fix the scratches on the screen with sandpaper and polishing compounds! This restoration is amazing though, the gold is to die for.

Frankly, I prefer no music, actual sound (with a good Mic), and a _little_ bit of speed-up editing for screw removal and such, but Repair/Restore videos are my favorite. Def NOT boring. Nice job on this btw! Thanks for the video!
You know if I wanted to watch "my mate Vence" I would go to his channel BUT I'm not so do it the way you do bro please keep it great like always.... by the way I used to paint small private planes , the scotch pads is great just so paint has something to adhere too on the surface , you can also use vinyl paint for plastic good sir ;) ;) ;)
