I was born 1965, then in 1977 there's a rerun of The Sound of Music and my sisters took me to the theater took me to the Mall not knowing we'll be watching a movie. Then I saw Disney's The Rescuers on the opposite of The Sound of Music and I told them I want to watch that instead. And of course you know who will prevail. But now it's a different story, now a fan of Dame Julie Andrews, perfect in every way.

She has set the bar with that very high and class standard that no one can ever dare to challenge. She is probably the best. Dame Julie Andrews was born for Mary Poppins and SOM, no one else. Doesn't the interviewer do ANY homework. The same questions asked and answered by Andrews a THOUSAND times over. Nothing she hasn't said a hundred times before.
The same thing happened when I saw her in Los Angeles at her tour promoting her book. I paid extra to make sure I was three seats from the front and while it was wonderful and thrilling to see her in person, the interviewer obviously hadn't done her homework either and asked the same old questions that we've heard over and over again. But she was Charming through it all and one often gaze up into the audience and seemed to be amazed that so many people were there for her. Of course we gave Dame Julie a standing ovation.
I love Julie Andrews. I wonder if she watches any of her musical movies that she sings since her throat surgery. Considering she can't sing now, it can't be easy for her.
