I was in LA in October 1995, at the time Julie was doing Victor Victoria in NY. Saw all her films, have plenty of Julie's records (vinyl), books and yes, my sole sadness is never had been able to talk to Julie in person. Every year on New Years' day I peeped at Vienna New Year0's concert to spot Julie while she was being a sponsor . Much love to my dearest Julie but above all, a profound respect for this Dame😘🤩
My mother, separated from her first husband, would take my half-brother Jim to see his father sing in the same shows as Julie's mum and Ted. She'd say "Hang on to this kid (Julie who was 2 years old) while we are performing, otherwise she will be on the stage in a flash as she knows all the songs." So my mum held Julie's hand while her mum was singing. I'm 74 and have all my singing and piano diplomas, sung in many amateur shows and operas. I have always adored Julie's singing and acting. I have taught many children and adults to sing many of the songs from her shows as well as singing in many myself. I started at 11, singing in groups for dinners and luncheons. Many of the songs were from Julies films. 💞

My very favorite " Camelot", singing it every day. Whistling at "What do poor folk do". In Morocco 2nd lockdown, began listening to Camelot every day. My father was in Germany WWII, my aunt was in England sent by my grandfather. Big story . As well I had nodules. Surgery denied. Speech Therapy. Tonight will watch Thoroughly Modern Millie. Thank you for the gift of your voice. It has brought me thru many dark depression's.

Feeling strongly about the message of the story I finally saved enough to self publish. It is about choosing doing an axe of kindnesses her Imfound a way instead of revenge toward the one bully. It would be life changing if some like Julia world give a review. I am not only 90, I am dyslexic. Like Julia found away to overcome a challenge. Julia is one of my mentors.
I had to have vocal cord surgery in October 1992. Sadly My surgeon was incompetent and I didn’t need the surgery but voice test would have been enough. If I hadn’t put my trust in the Lord Jesus in 1961 I don’t know what I would have done. It took many years to get a reasonable speaking voice back. Dear Julie I feel your sadness over the loss of your amazing voice. I was a singer too so look forward to singing with you in Heaven I hope🙏🏻👏
I admire this wonderful lady. She and her talent ,singing voice ,or acting ability brings so much joy to all of us.I understand her growing up years.I too grew up during war time like she did.But I was on the other side of the ocean. I am from Berlin Germany and the 5 year war that was going on also hurt me like it did her. I was born in 1934 so we are close age wise. Loud noises scare me. Children's cries and tears devastate me. Anyone crying hurts me because of what I saw and heard during WW2. Sorry I am for anyone growing up in war time conditions.Like right now I am praying for the people in the Ukraine.. But yes, to what I am writing. Julie Andrews is a lady of class. I love her and I am enjoying the movies she is in. Here I am writing to her, that I am deeply sorry for what the 2nd world war put us through...... And for the people in the Ukraine I am prying for peace,
When Julie Andrews came to Australia to give a stage interview show, all the questions were prescripted and no one from the audience was allowed to ask her a question ! The tickets for this " performance " were several hundred Australian dollars . Needless to say , we walked out halfway through . In contrast , when Bette Davis came to Australia in the 1970s , the whole show was built around unscripted audience questions and she was wonderful ....
