- 17-year-old Indian talent M. Pranesh took on the world no.1 Magnus Carlsen. And what a game this was. Starting with an unconventional opening, the battle sizzled into an immensely complex game where Magnus was at some point a rook down! Did the strongest players on the planet manage to survive or was it the youngster from Chennai who emerged victorious. Check out this round 4 game along with the commentary by IM Sagar Shah.

Like Nakamura said in one of his videos these young players are really hard to defeat because they don’t play the typical moves that top gms do, that’s why they are completely unpredictable. He also mentioned that they don’t fear these GMs because they have probably watched 100s of games of Magnus online and prepared well!
Watching 100s of videos doesn't make you better, your theory is wrong. Every game in Chess is different. Pranesh is an excellent chess player and I am sure you will see him in top 10
Pranesh has a lot of confidence- right from when he entered the security checks to the way he greeted Magnus and the way he played you could just sense it and that’s very important against Magnus. These upcoming youngsters don’t have that “fear” of playing against Magnus. They treat it as any other game which could be a reason they’re playing so well against him.
How do you know that?
@@Ferdy_Forever indians are gigachad look at vishy anand
@@Ferdy_Forever you can see his confidencee when he can repeat moves and draw and instead force the game
There is no established correlation between having confidence and playing well.
@@indianfan1029 lol exactly my thoughts. plus let these kids consistently beat Magnus before we can begin discussing these kids.
14:33 Hikaru’s infiltration
He was waiting for a chance to congratulate Pranesh the same way Magnus congratulated Pragg after Hikaru's loss to Pragg
@@shubakarthiklol😂
There are too many indian players with rating 2500. If these players get all the help and they reach 2700 then we can see india becoming a chess superpower.
Yes
Rusian too
Bhai hum sport superpower kab banenge yaar
Before i die i wanna see india becomming a sporting superpower like china ,USA
Right now we a good at cricket, chess(we will become superpower in upcomming 10 to 15 years for sure),we were best at hockey, but as soon as artificial turf came we stopped growing in hockey😢,and recentlybcoz of N.C javelin became popular
But thats is not the end,we have to be good at other global sports like football, hockey, boxing, ufc, swimming
For me India is already a super power
There are also a lot of U14 and U16 IMs in India
I think that rook sac by magnus was really briallant. Its like some high level stockfish move. And pranesh fell for it. Still pranesh played a great game.
Which minute you mean? I think I miss it

Surprise move by magnus
Fantastic player from Karaikudi....(Tamilnadu)... Really proud he is our student(Vidhya Giri)
I would like to learn
There's something inexplicable about Tamilians and Chess- still trying to figure out the "dark matter" connection !! Some cell activity is far greater than other Indian state players.
Hikaru: “Pranesh is a lunatic !”
Magnus giving advice at the end it’s really cool
😂😂Hikaru was checking whether pranesh is wearing watch or what 😂
Move order.
@@TheSeeker-wo6mj the moves written on the sheet.
My bad I could not find the exact word.
Nah, maybe helping him out 🙄😶😘😍😗😙😚
😂😂😂
Great to see the CHAMP talking chess sfter the game!
What a game by Pranesh !
14:45 hikaru be like hi 👋
Amazing game. I like Pranesh play. Great player ! It's the most enjoyable game i've seen. Thanks deeply to Sagar without whom i could not follow and understand the game well. I would not watch chess without Sagar.
Intelligent game by Pranesh, just missed boat, India has surprisingly such back up GMs in pipeline for future WCC. Thanks Sagar Bhai for always presenting best games with concise but best ,sweet commentary 🎉🎉❤❤
I am quite surpised with this tournament, i have always heard that a > Elo's 200-difference is huge and impossible for the the low elo opponent to win, but in this tournament a lot of top GM didn't win easily or drew their games against 200 or 300 Elo below opponents !
So interesting to see the two GM talking sign language. These GMs are at another level of humans.
❤ fantastic game by an Indian player
The pink panther pounced upon the priciest scalp...nearly...
Wow magnus is the only player who brings new opening in any tournament
Great fearless play .. end game matters 🎉🎉
The last part speaking in snake language (fusfusbfus) always gets me 😂
Why to include if we can’t hear it. Maybe they should give them mic

You can't convince me this guy was not listening to the livestream 🤣🤣🤣

Magnus is starting to look more and more like a addict
This kid played very well under the stress. Last 10 mins of game was extremely thought of.
Every tournament is becoming a battle against an Indian army.
Magnus dropped his pieces twice after the game! He's nervous
He is goat
Awesome commentary 😊😊
wow.....what a game and such thrilling commentary by Sagar!
Can i ask why they write stuff down after they move? isn't it getting documented anyways?
Good stuff from both players.
chess is the new cricket!
I'm sure they would love us to isolate indoors and stare at a screen all day (and night). Very healthy.
It is truly proud moment if i could get draw against carlsen
Pranesh did a great job❤
Hikaru shouldn’t have come that close - it’s a little distracting at a crucial moment. You can see Pranesh giving him the look and yet he keeps persisting. Curiosity is one thing but don’t get so close to players
it is players job to not get distracted
@@lazzzy5514no, spectators has no right to distract players..naka has himself shown his displeasure when ppl got close
Players checking each other is common, and even if no other players checking, there's observer around them who also watched the game.
Unless someone making commotion, they won't be bothered, and they shouldn't be bothered.
@@keralacitizen he didnt said anything, he didnt even stood infront of him.
I don't think he was bothered, maybe surprised initially
India is already a chess superpower
great game
Missing a winning strike 😮
That boy earned the respect of mangus carlsen
He is playing against the strongest player on the planet. 😃🤣🤣😃 I love this commentator.
it would be intresting to hear what they say after the game
great commentating
I liked the last 3 mins of the video
anyone else get annoyed by the "refs / judges/ coordinators" always rushing in staring at the competitors 1 second after their hour and a half match? like holy shit give them a second, you waited an hour and a half for them to finish you can get your grubby hands out of there and wait 1 minute longer
what a game
Magnus wants fast games ...he doesn't wants to play ...hours long lasting games 🧘🏻♂️🧘🏻♂️🧘🏻♂️
Just one miss took away the win for pranesh against magnus
i think the commentator should play magnus
1. Nakamura is always surprised.
2. India is may be wasting too many talents for chess. After all, chess is nothing but a game.
2. Classic jealous words.
As long as none of the chess players is struggling for their bread and butter, they should be fine. Besides most of them are still going to school/college.
Magnus is getting old. His mind set is different. He reject the world championship. He does not like to play classical chess like i'n the past. So now he is making experiments and even in this situation he is a beast OTB
This shows the power of prep. Magnus hates to prep and if he does prep, it would be for other Super GMs. All these kids have basically prepped all their lives specifically for Magnus. Magnus could play better, but he wouldn't find it very interesting. I think he has other activities he prefers these days, like partying.
Pranesh Should have play QA3
I don't understand how magnus is a G.O.A.T or a great player. He's being defeated these days by any 15-16 year old kid quite easily.
12:57 rook takes f4 how's this move can u explain please
bishop takes f4
Every chess player is 17 - 16 year old on this channel😂😅
13:36 did magnus miss qf5?
What's the purpose of that move? I mean it doesn't do anything
Why they walk away during the game 😮
Magnus I still think your the best!
How come ur predicting the moves so accurately - one ur on par with magnus or giving commentary after watching the game 🤷♂️..... Latter sounds 💯✅
pranesh OP
Nice
Pranesh is going to be kicking himself later!
😮😮😮
There's something inexplicable about Tamilians and Chess- still trying to figure out the "dark matter" connection !! Some cell activity is far greater than other Indian state players.
This Indian boy is good.
someone get man a comb
why do they keep on writhing on their paper thingy?
In tournament it is a rule
Of course Pranesh cannot be confused against magnus as any line leads to the same result _ a loss😅
To appear on videos like this, and improve visits to his channel
Last me galiya kyu dete hai ek dusre ko 🤣
carlsen is world no.1 not becoz he is a good attacker but the best defender
Pranesh could win it
my rating is 1400 even i can see that black bshop is a bad bishop then y magnus took that bishop with his good knight..🤔
Magnus wants to play Nb6 and Nc4 again, and he thought he got another good knight.
GMs are dime a dozen in Tamilnadu
This year master championship is not good for Magnus at alll.
Who wins ??
draw
Thats reson magnus have no intrust world championship 😅
When these top GMs chat casually after a game it's like on a completely different level...something where ordinary, "mortal" players would be totally in the dark, except for the fact that they already know the outcome!
