The reason why it's not on Spotify is because Nintendo want to get people to have Nintendo Switch Online and people who don't have a Switch can listen to the OSTs. It's simple. They're creating a new way to get people to sign up for NSO which leads to more money so they can get some revenue off of it.
@@NintendoGamingCentral Idk how many people this will actually get to sign up for NSO though! I think anyone interested in paying to listen to Nintendo music would already be a member. Spotify would have more reach and would most likely be more profitable due to the revenue they’d make from it. I do see the point that it makes the NSO package as a whole more desirable though. It’s a very Nintendo way of doing it for sure. There’s always positives and negatives with their ways.
@@Yoshizuyuner I'm curious how many people will many people will actually subscribe to NSO for this. Even with splitting revenue, I have to imagine their profits wouldn't be too far off. This is why I love Nintendo though. They never do things through conventional means. If they find a way to integrate this with the Switch 2 I will fully understand why they went with a dedicated app. That would be awesome.
Anither reason is nintendo doesn't want to share their misic on spotify if they don't have to. Subjecting themselves to whatever terms or fees it costs to run. Plus, spotify i think gets a portion of money on its platform despite the fact they've apparently never been profitable
Yeah I thought about mentioning that the selection was a bit disappointing to start. It will hopefully get better since they will keep adding more. I would prefer it not be a drip feed though.

Also it gets more people exposed to their IPs and games from the same franchise when applicable for now.

@@AustinSalyer they would have to share those music profit with Spotify and Nintendo has large amount of soundtracks to justify having a app for it

I can download every single one of these songs online for free.
Don't tell Nintendo that. The copyright war of 2024 will begin!
Bro super Mario 64 is not in the app, like Nintendo what 💀💀
Kind of insane lol
You've got a point. 💯
@@1UPWOMAN Hard to trust them with this sort of thing!
I checked it out it's worse than mid none of my favorite Nintendo games are on the app like Star Fox Adventures and Star Fox assault and F-Zero GX.

@@AustinSalyer I feel like it'll eventually start being drip feed just like the other apps on the N64 games and other console apps on the switch.
