      Thanks for watching, my friend, and also for the encouragement. My hearing continues to decline, but otherwise am ok. I did see that Lazy Dog Productions posted a video today, and I speak a bit in it, but it is hard for me to hear what I am saying. See:

      Simon J, Thanks for watching, and your comment, much appreciated.. When the USA colors were announced, I thought I liked the red best, but then I remembered how many red Hondas I have, so I gave the yellow a second look. The dealer closest to me has received only one 2023 Monkey so far, and it was yellow. I rushed over to look at it, and found that was already sold. The buyer had originally wanted a 2022 black one, but only one 2022 came in, and it was the black one I got a year ago. So when the only 2023 to come in so far showed up, he bought it with his deposit from the black that never arrived. When I visited Action Honda two weeks ago, a yellow 2023 had just arrived and nobody had dibs on it, so I bought it. I had already decided that I wanted a yellow one. Now I am on the lookout for a 2023 green Trail 125. I don't think anyone in the USA has received one yet, but Honda was saying April delivery, and April is almost over, so there might be a few showing up any day now.

      @@Vintage_Garage I'll be glad when all these supply issues are over but worked in my favour when I ordered a blue jb03 last April. Dealer only received a red one but when I saw it 😍. Black was my favourite of the jb03 line but not available in the UK. All the best. Keep making interesting vids.. 🙌

    I would just like to say thanks.I have searched for weeks looking for a bar to mount my phone holder on and could not find one I liked. The Motowolf is just what I was looking for. Already have one on the way. Thanks again from USA.

      Ricky, Thanks for watching and your comment, much appreciated. I have seven Motowolf crossbars, all black. I prefer the ones with the compass in the middle, but they have been out of stock at Motowolf for the past four months, so I bought two black ones with no compass this month for my new Trail 125s. I have one with compass on both of my Monkey 125s, four (two with compass, one with compass and clock, and one plain) on my Trail 125s and one on the shelf. Two years ago, I bought one with both clock and compass, just to see what is was and put it on my Ruckus. I put it on one of my 2023 Trail 125s last month because I couldn't get the one with just a compass. I put a plain black one on my second 2023 Trail 125 for the same reason. I discovered Motowolf when I saw that they partnered with H2C for the H2C Mobile Phone Holders. I bought a couple of H2C phone holders from the Cub House, and with some searching, I found the Motowolf web site. The mobile phone holders are identical except for packaging. The Motowolf quality is very good. I also bought one of their yellow dry bags, and it appears in one of my MB5 videos. Please report back when yours arrives and let me know what you think of it.. thanks.

I still don't know what to do with the text translations, but I appreciate knowing that they aren't too quickly displayed to read in Thai. While I watch UA-cam videos on the UA-cam app on my smart TV, UA-cam analytics says that most of my subscribers watch my videos on their phones. It's hard to know what to do about size and placement of text, but at least I hear you say that they are displayed long enough to read, and some for too long, much appreciated.
      I used to visit Thailand by cruise ship every year for several years before the first Cub House opened. Then I discovered the Cub Houses just about the time that cruise travel and all travel to Thailand was shut down. Now I realize that if I lived in Thailand, I'd have bought every Special Edition Monkey as soon as it hit the showroom.. LOL.. I'd have an Astro Boy, an Easter Egg, Hot Wheels, and all of them. The Monkey Biker, Thanks for watching and your kind words. I have subscribed to your channel, and encourage all of my subscribers to do the same. Derazer comes out with new colors pretty quickly to keep up with the Honda Monkey color changes from year to year. For the 2023 Monkey (V3), they have the silver with white for the yellow Monkey, and a white with silver for the red Monkey. V2 had four colors and just like the V3, they match the tank colors for the 2022 Monkey. I have the black with silver V2 on my 2022 black Monkey and both the V3 and V2 colors are perfectly matched to the Honda colors. I think the yellow V2 would be a perfect match for your 2022 Monkey. Very similar to the accessories on my black one, except the yellow one has a Kitaco rear rack and the black has a Gcraft. I think I may move the Kitaco skid plate from the black to the yellow, to make the yellow more about Kitaco accessories, and then add something Gcraft to the black one. The Derazer headlight cover pretty much precludes having a front rack, so I will have to study the Gcraft catalog to get some ideas.

The Gcraft is lighter and is very pretty, but it bent when I made a trail ride with a filled up top box, so I made a follow-up video where I strengthened the Gcraft rear rack. Glad they are green as four reds would have been too many. I plan to install all the OEM accessories I have been unboxing in the last few videos on one of them, and then make the other into a Country Trekking with H2C accessories and the Endurance side case. There is one possible hitch developing. In Thailand the 2023 doesn't have the mounting points on the underside of the left side bar on the rear rack. The Japanese and Canadian ones do. Looking at the USA parts fiches, the USA may be getting the one with the Thailand rear rack with no mounting points for the rear side accessories. If that turns out to be true, I will have to buy a rear rack from Webike or Canada to complete the OEM accessory installs.

    Thanks for sharing the accessories. What's the requirement of the rear carries with Quro top case?

    • @Vintage_Garage
      @Vintage_Garage  7 місяців тому

      @pnicare6721. Thanks for watching and your comment, much appreciated. I might not understand your question, but I think you are asking how much the Quro top case can hold. The weight limit is set by the Kitaco rear carrier at at approximately 7.0kg, and the top box itself can hold 33 liters of items. It is easy to fill the top case with more weight than the rear carrier can handle. However, I think the rear carrier can hold more weight than specified, but perhaps more weight will adversely affect the handling of the Monkey 125.
      ご視聴とコメント、誠にありがとうございます。 質問の意味が分からないかもしれませんが、Quro のトップケースにどれくらいの容量が入るかということだと思います。 キタコ製リアキャリアの耐荷重は約7.0kgで、トップボックス単体で33リットルの荷物を積むことができます。 リアキャリアが扱える以上の重量をトップケースに詰め込むのは簡単です。 ただし、リアキャリアは規定以上の重量に耐えられると思いますが、重量が増えるとモンキー125のハンドリングに悪影響を及ぼす可能性があります。

      @@Vintage_Garage Thanks for such a detailed explanation! Sorry about the confusion. My question was does the Quro top case require a specific rear carrier? From your previous video, first you put a different brand rear carrier, then you replaced with Kitaco rear carrier ( it is discontinued...) Hope this time I make it clear : ) Thanks

    • @Vintage_Garage
      @Vintage_Garage  7 місяців тому

      Thanks.. I think I understand what you are asking. On the first one, I used a Gcraft rear rack, and found that the rack was too weak to support a full top box. I discovered that it was starting to bend, so I made strengthening beams out of angle iron for the Gcraft rack. The video about making the Gcraft rack stronger is here:
      ua-cam.com/video/2cXnhkJknlU/v-deo.html
      Because the Gcraft rack wasn't up to the job, I decided to try the Kitaco rack on the next Monkey install. The Quro box will fit on any rack, as it has no mounting setup other than just drilling holes in the bottom of it and then using cross bars under the rack to hold it in place. It would even work on the now-obsolete Monkey OEM accessory rack, but I am not sure how strong that rack is, as I have never used one. The Kitaco rack is very strong and has good geometry in the bracing. I do see that both the black and silver racks are out of stock now as you say. That is a shame, but sometimes Webike is conservative on their time estimates, and so it is worth an email to Webike to ask for an update.

    How do you like your Monkey compared to other Hondas you own like your CT125?

    • @Vintage_Garage
      @Vintage_Garage  Рік тому +1

      @maddogblue, I have two Monkey 125s, two Super Cub 125s, and four Trail 125s. The Trails are starting to feel a bit heavy, and even on good asphalt and concrete pads, it is starting to get tricky turning them around while standing next to them. I haven't dropped one yet, but have come close to it a couple of times. I do like the step through design of the Cubs, and the Monkey is hard to mount and dismount with a top case on the rear. For my use, a top case is a must have. I also don't like that the Monkey's don't have center stands and kick starters. The Super Cubs feel lighter than the Trails, and the step through with no center rack is best. The downside of the Super Cub is the Smart Key System, no wiring in the main harness for a side stand switch and no kick starter. The Trails have everything with no downside except for weight and feeling bit top heavy when stopped. Once riding, all feel comfortable and easy to ride. The Monkey is probably better than the Trail for trail riding as long as deep water is not expected.

    • @madogblue
      @madogblue Рік тому

      @Vintage_Garage Thanks for the detail. I have a 2019 cub and love the semi auto transmission. I find the seating a bit cramped for my 5'10 and long legs and the seat is pretty bad after 30 mins. The monkey seems just as cramped but rhe seat looks comphy. How is the monkey in longer rides for comfort?

    • @Vintage_Garage
      @Vintage_Garage  Рік тому +1

      @@madogblue That is a tough call. A lot of people complain about seat comfort on both the Super Cub and the Trail 125, but for me, they are very comfortable. There are less complaints about the Monkey seat as it is definitely softer. When you say longer rides, I assume that means highway riding. If so, then the Super Cub is your best bet. If you mean trail riding, then the Monkey is your best bet if you don't want a Trail 125. At 5'10 inches, you will be very cramped on a Trail 125, and the bar on the rear rack will be a problem. I am 5'6" and all three are comfortable for me, and fit me like a glove. All three have many custom seat choices and seat cover choices, so it is obvious that you aren't alone.

    Always a pleasure watching you work on these bikes. I particularly liked the chrome exhaust heat guard and the rear rack. A decent size to fit the top box on.
    I had a oem rack on my monkey which was tiny. It was only any use as a handle to lift the bike up when I was loading it on and off my Narrowboat. 😁
    Look forward to the test ride, I just know with your workmanship nothings going to fall off !

      Sorry for the slow response. Not sure why, but your comment from three week ago just showed up today. So far, the Kitaco rear rack is holding up better than the un-reinforced Gcraft rack. I did have to slightly bend the front mounts on the Kitaco rack to get it to fit with the Motion J side rack, but it is hard to tell that I did. The Kitaco seems to be very well made and perhaps the sturdiest available Monkey rear rack.

Going to put you on the spot, which Monkey color do you prefer most? I find yellow the most vintagish. But the black looks very 😎. Hows that seat pattern look in person? I'm kind of liking the regular black seat more.

    • @Vintage_Garage
      @Vintage_Garage  Рік тому +1

      I think the seat on the 2024 black is the same seat as the seat on my 2023 yellow, and I like it. There were three colors in 2023, black yellow, and red, but only yellow and red were imported into the USA,. The tanks were all variations of white and silver, and the color was only on the headlight brackets, shocks and front down tubes. The red had a red plaid seat, and the black and yellow had a gray/black plaid. I think from what I can see, the 2024s are identical to the 2023, except the USA gets black and red, but not yellow for 2024.

    Hello from Spain. I love your videos. I’m passionate in love with Honda 125cc bikes and the way you perform them. I’ve recently brought a second hand Monkey that I’m in love to. I’d like to ask you about tires for this bike. My rear tire is about to die even though it has only lasted about 5000 miles. Is it normal? I’m talking about Vee Rubber 130/80-12. Any good options? Thanks for your videos. Greetings from Europe. And, please, excuse my poor English. 😢

    • @Vintage_Garage
      @Vintage_Garage  Рік тому

      Santos, Thanks for watching and your kind words, much appreciated. No worries about your poor English, it is better than my poor Spanish. I will use Google Translate at the end of this comment, to try to say the same things in Spanish. First of all, I think 5,000 miles is about all you can expect to get out of the Monkey rear tire, so I think your tire wear is normal. Unfortunately this is not first hand information as I only have 400 miles so far on my new 2023 Monkey and only about 2,000 miles on my 2023 Monkey. it is just what I have heard other people say. If it were me, I would replace your rear tire with another OEM tire from your Honda dealer. In the USA, the tire would be TIRE, RR. (130/80-12 69J) (VEE) 42711-K0F-T03. With that said, I am also not a "tire guy". I am also not a "sprockets and chains guy". I am also not a "Shocks guy". I am also not a "big bore kit guy". I am also not a "exhaust system guy". All of those guys are looking for performance items because they are unhappy with what Honda engineers decided to select for their motorcycles. Those guys are looking for more speed, or more of something else than they can get OEM from Honda. If you ask a "tire guy" what tire to get, they will probably have a recommendation other than OEM, and they will feel strongly about their choice. I am old and slow, and so what Honda installs is good enough for me, and I am not looking for better, stronger, or faster. If you have a look at this forum:
      www.advrider.com/f/threads/the-honda-monkey-thread.1321471/
      You will find some tire guys, some sprocket and chain guys, and so on. Unfortunately, the comments are in English, but if you ask your question about tires there, you will get some more information about other brands of tires for the Monkey 125. Unfortunately, there are over 160 pages of comments, so you might have to search there for "tires" to find comments about tires. One other thing, if you haven't noticed, I have two Monkey playlists. The first is about technical installations:

      The second is about Monkey rides:
      ua-cam.com/play/PLzD0_ErwwkDCch0Vw9BKCSuIEqMZGR7le.html

      Santos, gracias por mirar y sus amables palabras, muy apreciadas. No te preocupes por tu pobre inglés, es mejor que mi pobre español. Usaré Google Translate al final de este comentario, para tratar de decir lo mismo en español. En primer lugar, creo que 5000 millas es todo lo que puede esperar obtener de la llanta trasera Monkey, por lo que creo que el desgaste de la llanta es normal. Desafortunadamente, esta no es información de primera mano, ya que solo tengo 400 millas hasta ahora en mi nuevo Monkey 2023 y solo alrededor de 2,000 millas en mi Monkey 2023. es justo lo que he oído decir a otras personas. Si fuera yo, reemplazaría su llanta trasera con otra llanta OEM de su distribuidor Honda. En los EE. UU., el neumático sería TIRE, RR. (130/80-12 69J) (VEE) 42711-K0F-T03. Dicho esto, tampoco soy un "chico de neumáticos". Tampoco soy un "chico de piñones y cadenas". Tampoco soy un "tipo de choques". Tampoco soy un "tipo de kit de gran calibre". Tampoco soy un "chico del sistema de escape". Todos esos muchachos están buscando elementos de rendimiento porque no están contentos con lo que los ingenieros de Honda decidieron seleccionar para sus motocicletas. Esos muchachos están buscando más velocidad, o más de algo más de lo que pueden obtener OEM de Honda. Si le pregunta a un "tipo de llantas" qué llanta comprar, probablemente tendrá una recomendación que no sea OEM. Soy viejo y lento, por lo que lo que instala Honda es lo suficientemente bueno para mí, y no busco algo mejor, más fuerte o más rápido. Si echas un vistazo a este foro:
      www.advrider.com/f/threads/the-honda-monkey-thread.1321471/
      Encontrará algunos chicos de neumáticos, algunos chicos de piñones y cadenas, y así sucesivamente. Desafortunadamente, los comentarios están en inglés, pero si hace su pregunta sobre neumáticos allí, obtendrá más información sobre otras marcas de neumáticos para el Monkey 125. Desafortunadamente, hay más de 160 páginas de comentarios, por lo que es posible que deba buscar allí para "llantas" para encontrar comentarios sobre llantas. Otra cosa, si no te has dado cuenta, tengo dos listas de reproducción de Monkey. El primero es sobre instalaciones técnicas:
      ua-cam.com/play/PLzD0_ErwwkDBdfdETWjJIOZIUs5Uo0K8G.html
      El segundo es sobre paseos en mono:
      ua-cam.com/play/PLzD0_ErwwkDCch0Vw9BKCSuIEqMZGR7le.html
      Una vez más, gracias por mirar, y como tú, me gustan los monos.

      Thanks for you answer. I really appreciate it. I completely agree with you. I did not buy a Monkey to ride fast but to enjoy a simple, fun, beautiful accessible motorcycle. I honestly don`t need a single more mile per hour on my monkey, but I also expected my monkey to be a cheap to maintain motorcycle and I’ve suddenly realized that it is not that cheap at least about tires. The 130/80r12 69 tires price is alómate the double of a 130/70r12. And what about it’s durability? I’ve ridden motorcycles all my entire life and 5000 miles for a 9 horse power motorcycle is not a terrible work for a tire, I suppose. Anyhow, I do not regret buying my Monkey, I’ll pay expensive tires for her and enjoy it´s beauty. I also own a 34 year old Honda Transalp; a much bigger and faster bike but I drive exactly at the same speed on any of them. I love slow motorcicyng. Many thanks again for your answer.
