Hey idk if you know this but it doesn't look like you're using it: upgrading towers does not require clicking, and instead can be accomplished by pressing 1, 2, or 3 for health, armor, and shield damage respectively. Has made my runs a lot more fun
@@ACRPlaysGames ive been wondering that too why you've been clicking, i just guessed you just preferred that way as to not accidently go overboard upgrading something. xD love this vids man, cant wait to see your channel blow up one of these days. Cheers!
Actually lucked into a 12 tile 1 portal map today and just barely got my first win thanks to powerleveling a shredder. If I hadn't watched this video I wouldn't have thought to do that. Also learned that it wasn't a mod that was causing the waves to automatically advance. Imagine my surprise when I learned waves started before I could even read the cards.
I wish there was a bleed upgrade, or a shredder upgrade called "severed tendons" that inflicts slow relative to bleed rate. It would make solo shredders a lot more viable.
Yeah slow is kind of in a weird place IMO. Poison is basically a better slow than slow because you can easily apply in an AOE but frost keeps can be overwhelmed by units.
I think you're right about the shredder's low ROF making things leak, but all of the leaks happened from the corner(s) where it was unable to target. The shredder then fires on the middle part, meaning that it technically fires on time, but targets 'wrong' so it doesn't hit the ones that have snuck by the middle already. I suspect it might do better if it had been placed on the other side or closer to the corner, with no gaps for the enemies with technically the most progress to hide.
18:50 I like the comments you made about the display I think those would be really nice changes to make for the mod because that system is designed with the base game in mind. I do agree that the tower upgrades and cards might look better if they were on the right side of the screen.
The shredder is supposed to be competitive with the AOE towers which scale with level squared times number of mobs available so for the most part the shredder is only ahead of those if you keep it leveled up by putting money in. As the number of mobs increases pretty linearly with game level they (poison / fire / "bleed" towers) all feel sorta n-cubed-like. But the shredder is actual n-cubed so should ultimately win the "how far into endless can you go" sort of challenge vs poison or fire towers. Interesting to think about!
basically, the typical tower deals its level * other multipliers (or rather L*M to keep this short) to a target. For the shedder it deals its L * M to the 1st target, then (L-1)*M to the 2nd target, then (L - 2)*M to the third, and so on until the number of targets it hit equals its level(after which the saw projectile despawns). This means the total damage a shredder can do is scaled on a gaussian series. So, while the typical tower deals L*M per attack, Shredder deals (L*(L+1)/2)*M per attack. Things to keep in mind however is that the shredder's theroectical max damage loses efficiency if the hits overkill, if there are more enemies per minute than the shredders Level*ROF, or if its just a one or two very tanky enemies. The fact that overkills lose some efficiency doesn't matter too much since a single tower can technically hit the entire track (and the fact that the max is so ridiculously high little loss to overkills is ok), but the ROF limitations is why he had to build frost towers for the slow and the limitations on damage to single tanky targets is why he still had to build obelisks
There are multiple different tile combinations to get the smallest possible map. There are 3 turn tiles for example, but all are valid in the first third fifth and sixth position. Likewise there are multiple straights that can spawn in the second and fourth. I forget how many straights there are but they can all result in the smallest map. Further, the first 3 tiles will never be a split, so they're more likely to get the correct pattern than the 4th through 6th. It's a complex probability space but it can be calculated by hand. I'll try it some time. I suspect it's somewhere in the hundreths or thousandths, not ten thusanths though
19:00 with modding you could probably make the individual parts of the upgrade window a drop down (aka you can hide certain panels you aren’t worried about (aka the bottom right one))
This maps chance should be roughly ⅔*⅓*⅓*⅓*⅓*⅓=2/729≈0.274% 2/3 because it can be either bend to the left or right at first, but then you need to get exactly right turns 5 times in a row. This is assuming the left/right/straight turns are equally likely, and no splits.
@@urkerab i just started playing a few days ago and i got this map i lost on 25 cause of oogie , was new to the game and didnt have many upgrades done .
i just recently started playing rogue tower, and i realised how shredders and teslas are busted. basically every time i use them they end up deleting ads and mid tier enemies, doing like 4k damage a pop
I mostly get some radars for tank killing bcs they shot alot of small bullets qnd do alot of dmg when upgrade to armor sheild hp its the best boss killer atower imo
i tried several, 1 type of tower runs, ballista, mortar, obelisk i managed to win, i couldn't win with blade thrower, radar, or electric tower sadly. for obelisk i used 3 ice towers aswell and lost like 37 lives on the final round but still managed to squeak by lol. i'd enjoy seeing you use more radars :D tho i understand they aren't great lol. i had like 15 when i tried to only radar run, think i lost at like 38
Would defineatly want to watch this on an endless run perhaps, also you should have defiantly taken the +100 bleed damage earlier as it ends up being quite valuable.
Just got to lvl 45. Needed 250/s mana to complete it :p got the balistas use "small" amount of mana on lvl 35 and needed to get them banks fast ff. But got it with a few points to spare. Fun game.
That's ok. He got it wrong anyway. I have a degree in applied nerd. sum(k, {k from 1 to n}) is n(n+1)/2, so it is quadratic, not cubic. The sum of n² is a cubic. Generally the power goes up by one from the power that is being summed.
AlmostCertainlyRealGaming could you make a mod that doubles your card takes but ups the the difficulty? I can see some really cool gameplay where you are less restricted on tower choice and upgrades but still the difficulty would scale fairly!
It adds its own damage to every hit that the marked target gets, basically a single target damage buffer and when upgraded it helps you deal ridiculous amounts of damage per hit, especially with 4x crit.
why wouldnt burn on snow make sense? heat isnt the only thing that can cause burns... extreme cold can also cause burns... so it actually makes sense..
if you care you can take the game over level 45 by using cheat engine. game have 2 checks for finishing it, one is big brain dead and second is level over 45 finished. if you use cheat engine to skip level (just int search each time same as your level) you can go higher without game ending. I did test lvl 77 and I dont think game scales above 45 without mod, it seemed like lvl45 forever, just without oogie.
Hi I’m looking at the mods and I can’t find the one that lets rounds start automatically, could you tell me the name or how you accomplished this? Thanks.
considering how much math stuff you know, you seem to not understand one of the core ideas of this game. When the number of gold in the top middle is lower than the upgrade cost of the tower, you don't need to press the upgrade button xD.

This map is far more conducive to the "all shredders" and "all mortars" builds. I'd definitely like to see a map full of shredders.
Greatly appreciate the breakdowns you give on your videos! Primo content my friend!!
"I really need more shield damage" proceeds to dump 15 consecutive upgrades into health
That math he did halfway through the video was so confusing
basically, the typical tower deals its level * other multipliers (or rather L*M to keep this short) to a target.

The way that I understood it was that shredders have the best bang for your buck as you upgrade them to high levels.
Big shredder? Tonight we dine on turtle soup
Even if its a level 1 single shredder, it'll still be the most satisfying thing out there.

Enjoying the shredder math discussion.

2/3 because it can be either bend to the left or right at first, but then you need to get exactly right turns 5 times in a row.
This is assuming the left/right/straight turns are equally likely, and no splits.
That's because you're out by a factor of 10; 2/729=1/364.5≈0.274%. So if you played one no splits map every day you would see it once a year.

I'm sure you could mod the opacity of the upgrade/card UI's and make them see through would be an easy way to fix the problem

In normal length maps I had to rely on 3 Lv. 50 Shredders and many Lv. 10 Radars. I also had to lengthen one path to the maximum.
a secondary shredder on the back corner could have triggered the bleed crit mod, even if you didn't invest in it.
Please teach me how to place consecutive towers without having to click the card over and over
