Rewatching this video, I am getting into Turnip28 in earnest now, and yesterday I gave one of my own Fodders a peg leg. Gotta love all those little ways to make these guys look miserable.
I have never heard of Turnip28, but it sounds hilarious. Just had UA-cam point you out to me this morning. I enjoyed listening to you speak & create some cool looking minis. Great job.
I just found it a couple of days ago and almost skipped based on the dumb name. Now the root has blessed me! I ordered a box of soldiers and a bit of modelling clay straight away. My first slug is drying and waiting for its rider!
There's a game system very similar to Turnip28 you might like, very similar aesthetic but more in line with ww1 called "Sludge". Its a universe where timelines have broken so everything can be used from most eras. Its very free with converting and kitbashing
So you usually pick 3 to 4 units which can have between 3 and 12 guys in each. So you are probably looking at around 30 models for an army, but it depends entirely on what you want to make
So you will generally want a pair of modelling clippers, a crafting knife and some files, for sculpting you can get fancy sculpting tools or just use toothpicks etc. I've found 'army painter' to be a reasonable brand but they are all pretty much the same

If they look well fed and happy they are in the wrong setting 😂

Thanks, I will check that out :)
Sludge is not dumb enough for me personally. I need to get a feel for a wargame and it doesn't give me that nice vibe
@@secretname2670sluge takes itself too seriously with gore tokens and command chains
Very nice walkthrough. It was very helpful. Thank you
The root must grow
Lovely video, I liked the soldier with the sack over his head the best!
Thanks, he's my favourite too 😂
I wanna start making a Turnip28 army at some point so for reference how many models are there in a average army?

what are the tools you used called? i'm very interested in getting into the hobby, but have not a clue on what knives, clippers and things work best

many thanks!@@thecavyforge7307
This is good advice. A hobby knife, clippers to clip models off the sprue, files, plastic glue for plastics and super glue.
The modt miserable looking Napoleonic models I found is warlord's prussian Landwehr
The ones without shoes especially 😂
Warlords Colonial Militia men have a really dour look although they may predate the napoleonic stuff by a smidge.
The Root Pope. I love it. Keep up the good work!!!
Thanks!
Magnífico trabajo.!! Me da ideas para nuevos proyectos.!!
Thanks!
Is that your special Turnip glove? 😊
It is 😊
That's a nice group. I like the pope.
Thanks!
Love the conversion 😊
Thank you!
@@thecavyforge7307 you are welcome
So detailed. They look great.
Thank you
Interesting video. Thanks for sharing
Love the video! I really wish your mic was improved however. I understand that's not always possible, regardless thank you for the video!
What's the issue with the audio?
Nice
Lovely stuff
Thanks!
what glue is that mate
That would be Revell plastic glue for the minis and regular pva/Mod Podge for the basing paste
