    If the trucks going to be used for hauling loads its always important to protect those in the cab from the obvious hazards associated with loads coming through the cab. Seen many accidents where this is the only barrier that protected the occupants. They make headache racks on beds like the CM lineup that are easily viewed through to monitor your loads. Just two cents worth of advice that will save peoples lives. Keep on Trucking everyone. 😎👍🙏🏼😇

      Only problem with doing a full deck bed is DOT considers it loadable space. There for will put you over length.

    Your next truck build could you try to save on weight . Use aluminum bed and headache rack . Subtract second fuel tank and shorten chassis so the truck can carry more weight .

    Have this exact same truck. 22'
    Only feedback I could offer is to beware that since the aux tank is steel it can rust. This happened to me and contaminated my fuel. Luckily insurance cover most of the damage.
    I switched to an aluminum box
    Regardless awesome towing rig. Tons of power for mountains

    • @skoffco
      @skoffco 4 місяці тому +1

      That would be cool, but it would have to be a very heavy fifth wheel or truck camper. The typical fifth wheel is not heavy enough, and that truck will literally beat you and your RV to death. Especially on some of the roads in this country.

  • @mojorisin7371
    @mojorisin7371 4 місяці тому +3

    The problem I seen with CM beds in the Northeast the paint doesn't last long. They do an excellent job non the less and this truck is absolutely gorgeous. You don't need the longer wheelbase to get an auxiliary fuel tank. I have a 2020 and it is a single cab short wheelbase and has 2 tanks for a 38gal and a 26 gal. and a 5 gal hydraulic fluid tank. Getting into the tightest areas is more of a breeze and minimizes potential issues. There are plenty of spots to sleep around the country that are cheap and alot more safer then sleeping in your truck. The extended cab is probably the best compromise 🤙🏽🇺🇲

    Do an F-550 or F-600 hotshot with a 7.3 and 4.88 gear, for those who don't want the added cost of a diesel that someone may use as a regional or local Hotshot.

      @Michael-UA-cam98 I would think there would be cheaper maintenance cost due to it being gas vrs the added cost that diesel shops charge. No DEF, DPF, etc. I've seen a few hot shot 7.3 gas pulling 48' shed hauling trailers and ship containers around my area and they seem to do pretty good. Shawn @ JB REVIEWS, this would be an awesome episode on your channel to do gas vrs diesel hotshot segment, the pros and cons of each

    To the video creator ..
    We just build one of this models in our location in south Florida …
    Few things .. the fuel tank you had instal not the way to go , we installed one that the integrated fuel pump is directly connected to the OBD and when the truck is in 1/4 tank of fuel the module of the spare diesel tank starts pumping fuel automatically into the rear tank of the truck until is full or if the driver wants it can also be run manually by the push of a button . The way you have it set up as gravity feed doesn’t work because 1 the driver needs to stop and 2 if it gets full and the driver forgets he be dumping fuel in the road as he drives ….
    Also right by the dual wheels on the driver side you shout have a 7-4 way for the trailer , the tech who built your truck could of have use a 2 to 1 7way extension and gave you a secondary one for only 5th wheel use ….
    The attachment you used there for towing comes with the bed kit , the horse shoe one is optional .
    The flood lights are wired correctly to aux 6 but if the Teck did it correctly he should of put an inline fire from the header rack switch to the connection under the hood for the aux-6 so you don’t blow the fuse on the truck but the fuse on the lights itself so if you have a short you don’t burn the entire flood light harness…
    Back up alarm ? We also instal those .. And we also offer lights that instal on the ears of the bumper that tag to flood for lower cargo lighting for night use ( water resistant ) for those who do boat transports ….

    Why use Aux 5 or 6 for a tiny light? They are the only two switches that can handle 40 amps (air compressor, etc). Aux 1-4 are 25 amp rating. That’s something they should take into consideration when building these.

    • @jelinektreeservice
      @jelinektreeservice 4 місяці тому

      I believe switch 5 and 6 are the only ones that are powered all the time. If you want to run the switch without the key on. 1-4 need the ignition on to run.

  • @Robert8455
    @Robert8455 3 місяці тому

    Its nice for sure. I think the upfitter should apply a revised load sticker. I think the 110 tank is maybe too big and too tall as that raises the CG. Also seems like it could be closer to the edge of the bed because there is some waisted space on both sides. I would go for an aluminum flat bed that is full width and covers the back tires. Steel bed is like so 70's. A full flat bed allows the truck to be used without the trailer giving the operator more options. Full cameras (trailer included) should be a given. Air bags, on board compressor, fire extinguisher and safety triangles should also be standard equipment. Nice money maker.

    Nice truck except for the price. For the same money you could purchase a few year older class 8 truck and have less downtime. These hotshots are always on the side of the road broke down. They are not made for the day in and day out of hauling heavy loads. The suspension and brakes and especially the transmission cant handle that kind of stress. I'll take my Pete any day over this.
    We transport new RVs and these hotshots are always broken down doing the same loads as us.
