Fun fact: The petrol-electric transmission made it much easier to relocate the engines than would be the case on a mechanical-transmission vehicle (the engines can be mounted anywhere, and only the length of the power cables needs to be altered, as opposed to re-designing the driveshafts and locating the engines for the easiest routing of powershafts to the gearbox), so without the forward-mounted turret of the Porsche Tiger prototype, the twin engines were relocated to the front, where the turret had been, leaving room ahead of them for the now-isolated driver and assistant-driver only. Basically what I’m trying to say is the Elifant sucks.

yeah, i miss when war thunder was almost kinda historically accurate in terms of tanks u see on the battlefield. but good idea, make tiger cost more spawnpoints instead of throwing it in with modern vehicles
yeah and the heat slinging tank has no armor and shit gun velocity, stuff like this is essential for balance. or not the germans would just be dominating the ww2 eras without all their technical difficulties and low production numbers
@@99eryaydude93 say what you wanna say, but WT was much better when IS-4M v Maus was the meta, without all those fast time-traveller cars firing insane chemical ammunition on slow heavy machines. Today it's completely pointless playnig any 6.7 heavy, armour (its main characteristics) are useless. It's insane that, for example, an IS-2 has to fight Leopards or BMP-1s
@@99eryaydude93 yeah but you ruin the design concepts of the tanks. A tiger wasn't designed to handle fast and agile heat carriers. On the other side an ikv 91 isn't designed to fight close range Vs this slow meatball. When I play the ikv I prefer going 1.5+ km away and sniping those tigers and elefants. Simply because it's hard to hit me with this low profile.
@@davids.6671 I've been saying for years now that WT needs a historical tech tree and BR line up! Its stupidity that this kind of bull**** keeps happening! I loved playing this game until recently when i finally gave up and left until such a time the game is stable to play, and i mainly played WWII era vehicles, but when you started coming up against shitboxes like the R3's and such it just changed, then as Eduardo said, it is insane that an IS2 has to fight modern stuff! the games a laughing stock! Its got more bugs and broken crap in it then a taco truck!
Nothing will stop me from thinking there should be an historical mode apart from arcade and realistic. You compensate br with SP but everything stays in its operational years

Tiger II vs 75 mm Sherman, hell yeah. There's a Tiger II on display in La Gleize Belgium, I've seen it, it was hit multiple times by Shermans and whatever else, their guns just left beg dents :).

they really need to do something like split up matches by tank era. Have the top tiers WW2 tanks, and then have all the cold wars and modern tanks in their own bracket. There's not a single cold war vehicule that is okay to face when you play something like a maus or a jadtiger, t95 etc... your armor is worthless, your gun might be fantastic but pales in comparison to ATGMs and sabot rounds.
Eh, Pt-76 and ASU aren't that bad for them, really I just want my armor not to be useless in a heavy Tank.
But there also isn't a single WW2 vehicle (that isn't German) where it is okay to face a Maus. Tanks are not equally capable within eras as seen with the pt76b, which is a god awful tank. It came out in the Cold War, but if it had to fight CW vehicles in WT, it would get absolutely murdered.
@@Daniel-dn7lk t95s, t34s, is4m, some french tanks depending on where you draw the line, t44 100, tortoise, you could include the fv 4005 as it's basically a very latewar design if we really strech it.
But there's also the planes to factor in, you're literally target practice for bombs and rockets in a maus, it's already the planes that shut it down more often than tanks. And this no matter the mode, even arcade has plenty of bombers. It would be even less of an issue in realistic, which I think is were the separation should really take place over arcade.

Honestly conventional gameplay ends at 6.3 for the most part. 6.7 is essentially 7.7 uptier. Mean while 7.3 and up is ATGM heaven. It's too bad the Super Pershing was bumped up to 6.7 from 6.3 since it was my favorite at the br.

Imagine beeing given a mosin nagant and going against someone with a m16, who do you think has a better chance of wining the match?
Oh and cherry on top your mosin nagant doesn't have a stock, or ammo stripper clip, because you haven't researched it yet, oh and the very basic cleaning rod, yeah you dont get that either, but you're going against an m16 with acog sight and a underbarrel grenade launcher, because they've reserched it.

donno if they could have a gamemode like relistic but only with tanks from 1939 to 1945 aka ww2 but add a armour fatigue mechanic where if you get hit by a is2 in a jagtiger, then the impact would dent the area of impact making it weaker for an example. just my idea🤔

I really like the toilet paper stack on the side so you can hand enemies some after you or they shit themselves.
Its more Phlys play style than anything else... The Ferdi and Elefant are great tanks, but they are long range engagers with an excellent cannon. I love the ferdi and have a 5 K/D in it cause its so good to sit back and play slow for a chill experience. Obviously not great for a video but such nice relaxing game play for your average player.
Phly, you should take out the me 262 its my favourite plane and it would be really cool for you to use it
I don't know how good that new South African artillery truck in the next major update will be, but I'm excited. to use it.

It was the vehicle that got me my phirst nuke, and I’d like to see it and the ABUL/74 (specifically the 90mm) on the channel!
The combo means in any terrain you can get to a sneaky spot, and scout phor tons of SP!

This is what I feel like playing the Tiger 2 P/H , they are not bad tanks, and I don't think their BR should be lowered, I just think that the BRs should be decompressed so that these vehicles have a place somewhere. Hell I get a 7.7 match both on my Leopard I and my Tiger 2 H so what's the point.

It would be nice if they made Era specific modes. I don't think it would take away from anything in the game. I love playing both modern and past war armour variants. I think they could do a lot of neat things with that.

We all know Gaijin can create cool and unique game modes....it would be cool if we could have a separate game mode based on Arcade and Realistic battles, where it's the old school tanks vs other old school tanks...maybe the Maus can face it's legendary advisory again, the IS-4 lol. Idk, I would be up for a cool gamemode that feature just WWII tanks. Because yea...I don't mind higher BR vehicles because tanks like the Elephant can penetrate their armor, it's just the dammed 500mm penetrating rockets that are annoying af lol.
They really need to adjust based on time produced at least a little bit

After the battle of kursk ( the battle the Ferdinant was first used) they found out that most tanks where destroyed bij infantery, so it was fitted with a MG. And more armour because it wasn't heavy enough. Oh and the engine was zo terrible that it could burst in to flames when going up a hill, so the most logical place to deploy it was Italy.

Well, you COULD take a mobile tank with your heavy TD, so that you could play sth not soul crushing, when you get up-BR-ed. Isn't that the beauty of WT? ;D
@snowest gaming That would also mean no downtiers. It would be pretty boring facing the same two tanks over and over again. Oh, and several heavies would probably move up due to balancing reasons if there were no uptiers.
@snowest gaming That would be boring af. There are some compression issues, true. Maybe a spread of +/- 0.7 would be better (or stretching the current tech tree to 12.0-13.0, to gain some space at the 6.0-8.0 area), but no up/down tier would be stale very quickly. You just need to build a lineup that has some tanks in it, that work at higher BR. I play the M24 up to BR 5.7, the M18 up to 6.7 and the M41 up to 8.0. No sweat, great fun. The M4A3E2 (75mm) on the other hand is amazing at it's own BR, but allready useless 0.7 BR higher. Armor doesn't carry on well, when up-BR-ed.

No single match you play will be the same, you can clutch a game if you really want to.
Then there is the issue of WW2 tanks facing off against vehicles with atgms.
That kills it for me.
Highest I'll go is rank three.
The only tier that has that issue is 6.3 - 6.7, I would stay away from that BR, modern tanks are fun and early-mid war tanks are fun
