Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, through funding shared by Dolly Parton and local community partners in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and Republic of Ireland. Inspired by her father’s inability to read and write Dolly started her Imagination Library in 1995 for the children within her home county. Today, her program spans five countries and gifts over 2 million free books each month to children around the world. Dolly Parton is a national treasure.
Dollywood owned and operated by Dolly Parton. A few years ago 2 teenage punk boys set the National Forest there on fire. Homes were lost, cities near Gatlinburg, and Gatlinburg itself. Gateway to the Smokey Mountains! Dolly donated millions to those who lost their homes and businesses. A couple months ago when Hurricane Helene wiped out Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee, again, Dolly got Walmart and herself to donate millions to those who lost everything! You two need to watch her movie: 9 to 5.👍👍
Dolly has said she wanted her theme park to provide good paying jobs in the area where she grew up where there was a lot of poverty, and also to showcase the traditions and skills in the area. Her Imagination Library was in response to the fact that her father never learned to read or write and she's managed to give away hundreds of millions of books, one per month from birth through age 5 for children in the program to help children's literacy. Dolly could easily be a billionaire given how much money she's made through her music, TV and movies, and the theme park, but she's also chosen to given away a huge portion of her fortune to those in need. People may judge her exterior, but Dolly's biggest asset is her heart. If we could all only be a little more like her, the world would be so much of a better place.
I think it's really cool to hear that Carol likes Dolly Parton. Recky, you're definitely gonna have to take her to Tennessee for Dollywood and then y'all could go to Graceland and play like in Zombieland 2. Plus I bet it would take all the apples in your tree to make that size apple pie. I knew y'all would react like that when y'all saw that slice of pie.
Everybody loves Dolly. We are proud that Dolly is from Tennessee, and her theme park is in Eastern TN. When the state is bookended by Dollywood and Graceland- and Music City is in the middle- you know we have a lot of fun. And Dollywood has SO MANY entertainment performances that were not in their vid! Every child on our street (including ours) has been lucky to be part of Dolly's Imagination Library program- a book every month from age 0-6. And Recky, love always for that 101st shirt.
Kettlecorn is delish! Only slightly sweet. One of my favorite live Dolly Parton performances is from when she was visiting Sweden and sang "I will Always Love You" on The tv show Bingolotto. Absolutely incredible performance.
Didn't Whitney Houston did a cover for one of her songs that's on Whitney Houston album 🤔? I forgot the song name. I actually heard the dolly version of it and it's pretty good
Oh, you have to check out Jolly eating the hot Nashville chicken. It's hilarious! This video will be rough, if you're already hungry. Carol, that look @ 24:23.
I work 10 minutes from DW. 🙂 Lazerport Fun Center (arcade) in Pigeon Forge.. There's SO MUCH to do around here that you can't even come CLOSE to doing it all in a week, a MONTH, or a YEAR!!
I live about 3 hours west of Dollywood, near the Capitol of Tennessee, and I've been to the park twice! I went back in 2022 and then went just this October. Im a huge rollercoaster enthusiast. While Dollywood has a relatively small lineup of coasters compared to other parks, they're all so incredibly unique and so much fun! Theres multiple smaller family coasters that are still an absolute blast to ride as an enthusiast (Big Bear Mountain, Dragonflier, FireChaser Express). The location of the park is also stunning. Sitting in a valley between two large hills, settled among the Appalachian Mountains. The theming is top notch, and you'll never have a dull time there. So many events and shows, so many flat rides alongside the coasters, so many games and restaurants, if anyone has been considering going, take the trip!!!
Hey! I wanted to say, Dollywood is in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Dolly Parton was raised poor. She’s elderly now, but still performs beautifully. One of my favorite hit songs is Coat of Many Colors, referencing Joseph in The Holy Bible. She’s a generous and kind southern lady. We love her.
If you ever feel adventurous, the recipe for Dolly Parton’s Cinnamon Bread can be found online. Also, that’s a regular size Turkey Leg sold in the markets here in the states. They’re incredibly inexpensive (like $1.50 each), because it’s considered a byproduct of the bird. Most of the Turkey’s meat is cut and used for other purposes, so they sell these damn cheap. When smoked with hickory, they take on a ham-like flavor…kind of.
Recky don't be jealous,be inspired. You have a smoker now so get after it Carol you did fantastic looking at the rides.Great job.The spicy chicken video should be an equalizer on Recky😊.
I THINK Dolly is at least 1/2 owner of Dollywood. Tho she has at least a part owner who 'manages' it. She's quite involved in parts/changes etc... but mainly she does her (music/acting) thing, and they do the rest. But she's involved in any changes that might occur that are 'big'. 2nd fave park in the USA after Cedar Point in Ohio.
Recky, If you and Carol do come to America, PLEASE go to Dollywood! It would be such a great video! A day pass costs about $90. Of course food is separate. but oh what fun it would be to watch both of you!!
I grew up around there. I can remember the only thing in pigeon Forge, which is where Dollywood is eastern Tennessee. The only thing there was a black bear that was kept in a cage and a Coke machine. You could buy a Coke for nickel and give it to the bear and he would sit down and drink it, literally that was the only thing there could be in Gatlinburg and 10 minutes 15 tops since Dollywood was built. It takes four hours to drive five or 10 miles it’s very depressing
I've not been to Dollywood yet, but I'd love to visit the park. I'm sure the food & the rides are spectacular. Now that my husband & I are retired, I'd love to visit there. Thank you for showing us the Jolly guys visiting Dollywood. Those guys are so fun to watch. ❤
In a large park like this one, families wear the same color of t shirts so it's easier to keep track of each other. If someone is missing, they can spot them better, or it's helpful to tell the park employees to look for a colored t shirt like they have on
I live in Baltimore and we go to Gatlinburg, Tennessee at least twice a year. Dolly Parton is a big part of the community. She has a lot of restaurants and attractions there, Dollywood being the biggest. It is a great place to visit. The Smoky Mountains are just amazing .
If you ever get to go to Tennessee and you want to have great food at an establishment owned by Dolly, all you have to do is go to Pigeon Forge and eat the The Dixie Stampede. It will be cheaper than paying to get into the park and then paying park prices for the food while not even getting on any rides. There are plenty of things to do it Tennessee in that area and in near by Gatlinburg.
Because of you showing a video, I have watched several of theirs. Their SO funny. And love their reactions as well. You like Dolly, you have to hear "Try" by her. Amazing lyrics !!!!!! I listen to a lot.
If you ever go, ride the train. She is a special jewel that served our country during WWII caring supplies to Alaska. No, Dolly doesn't own Dollywood, she is highly vested in it, but it is still owned and operated by the people who owned it when it was Silver Dollar City. She did not buy it to bring jobs to the area, the place was already booming when she got into it in 1986. The Smokies are THE most visited national park in the country. Some of her family work there, but it is a big place and just keeps growing. That was part of the agreement when she lent her name to it. My husband and I loved working there but moved too far for elderly people to commute when we bought our house. Part-time at Dollywood sometimes consisted of 51 hours of work a week. 😂
I have season passes to Dollywood even though it is a 6 hour drive from my house.....I take the grandkids over on weekends during the school year and for three weeks during the summer....they also have a water park next to the theme park. The dinner shows in Pigeon Forge are awesome, my grandson stood on the table yelling aye aye Captain at the pirate show.....haha he had even the actors laughing he was so into it.
Dolly also has another theme park just down the road called, "Dolly's Splash Water Kingdom." It is awesome also. It has all kinds of water rides, giant water slides, a lazy river you float around the park in tubes, a giant wave pool plus more. A great place to also spend a full day with your family. When I lived in TN, I had annual passes to both parks as we went a lot. That is how awesome these parks are. That wooden roller coaster is the oldest one in the world, was moved there and re-assembled. That train you can ride around the park in was used to haul troops and supplies by the US Military during WW2, if I remember correctly, in Alaska. Btw, the food at Dollywood is awesome. There also is an entire area of rides just for children. Be sure to wear good walking footwear as you will do a lot of walking up and down hills. Both parks are well worth the entrance fee.
Dollywood isn't the largest American theme park, but it's the best. Dollywood has great roller coasters, great food, fantastic shows, and clean restrooms. Dollywood also has a separate water park beside the theme park.
Another theme park known for its food is Knott's Berry Farm in Southern California. Knott's is the oldest theme park in the US and was started as a restaurant serving Fried Chicken Dinner and pies.
Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin waterpark central, there are several theme parks in the state and northern Illinois. In the USA you could spend weeks on vacation in theme parks in many states
Dolly was never able to children so she treats everyone of all ages like her children or grandchildren. That's why she's the Auntie Grandma of Country Music. She's a national treasure.
This would be so much fun. Years ago I might have done some of the rides, no longer though. So, I'm with you Carol! That food! Oh my gosh. ❤ Thanks for sharing this video. 😊
You should react to the Graham Goes to Dollywood video series starting with part 1. Dolly herself gives UK talk show host Graham Norton a personal tour.
The key to properly baking an apple pie as thick as that is using a recipe that includes a pre-cooked apple pie filling, rather than starting off with raw apples. It's easy to know when that kind of pie is done cooking is when your crust is done. You don't have to worry about whether your apples are still crunchy in the middle.

Tablet died, sorry. We have every style of BBQ in Atlanta. We also have an extensive worldwide population, adding everything you can imagine. Then drive south through quaint Georgia and Alabama cities to the gulf coast of Florida for a couple of days. Then back to the Atlantic coast to visit the ghosts of Savannah. Then dealers choice on how you get to the Smokie Mountains. Can go up the coast to various sites, or interstate it back through Athens to catch a Georgia Bulldogs home game. Then streamline up to the Seiverville/Gatlinburg/ Pigeon Forge/Cherokee part of Tennessee/North Carolina part of the Smokie Mountain area. If you have the time? Then cut west through Knoxville, Nashville & Memphis. Or go north up the Blueridge pkwy into Appalachia. Choosing your exit point when desired. Yes it’s drivable in 3 weeks. Mostly. Depending on what y’alls interests are.
Yes, Dolly owns 50% of Dollywood. Herschend Family Entertainment owns the other half. They absolutely have amazing food, shows, and, of course, rides. Parton holds the record for the most number one hit songs by a female country artist (25) and the record for most top 10 country albums on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart (41). Whitney Hustons cover of Dollys song I will always love you was a smash hit. Dolly Parton earned an estimated $10-20 million in royalties from Whitney Houston's cover of "I Will Always Love You" and is still getting Royalties from it today. She is a shrewed business women and a prolific song smith.
@0:50 guy let me tell you 1st hand that queen dolly is the biggest sweet heart. I met her in 2000 when I was 17 I went to Dollywood Dec. 3rd it was for my birthday(my birthday is November 29th) and maybe it was planned but I was in state custody at that time and she was in the park that night. And when my girls was born we got the imagination library books. I live 2 hours from Sevierville, pigeon forge, Gatlinburg.
Dolly Parton owns Dollywood. She created the theme park to provide jobs for the economically depressed area in the mountains of Tennessee. She knew about the hardships because she came from a very poor family in the area. She created a booming tourist economy there with her theme park based originally on just her celebrity. The Smokey Mountains are beautiful, but the area has always been remote and poverty-stricken. This fact was highlighted recently by the major disaster caused by Hurricane Helene.
A lot of people get season passes just to watch the people, the shows, shop in the stores. You see just as many old people sitting on the benches around the park as you do kids running from one ride to another.
Historic note: Conway Twitty intended to build a place of his own after seeing the success of Dollywood . It was to be called, Twitty City but he died suddenly.
I haven't been to Dollywood since I was a little kid, but now I want to go back and pay the entrance fee just so I can go buy some of that cinnamon bread!
Its a must see place in Tennessee along with Gatlinburg, which is just a few minutes from DollyWood theme park. And don't miss taking one of the roller coasters that you can actually control the speed down the side of the mountain.
Don't worry Carol. I'm with you on being afraid of rollercoasters. I almost came out of one when I was little back in the 60's. I was so tiny that I started sliding out from under the safety bar and the only thing keeping me in was my parents holding onto me. I've hated them ever since. With all of the safety measures and height requirements I never would have been allowed on one at that young age nowdays.
If you make kettle corn , make sure you have a lid on top and use gloves . If it pops on you , it sticks and burns deeper . But the salty sweet is delicious . It’s not much different than the sweet popcorn they sell at uk theaters . Yummm
One quick story: I was on my first roller coaster and I couldn't scream. I was with family and I wanted to try a roller coaster once. That was the only time ever I went. After that I refused any roller coasters. Even the kiddie ones.
I feel the anxiety Carol! I am afraid of heights , I can't watch the coasters without my palms tingling and sweating , I can't even watch a movie like Cliff Hanger where Sylvester Stallone tries to save the girl .

Just to let u know dolly wood is 150 acres in size
Hopefully one day soon, you will be able to visit the USA. Part of me wants to advise everyone to stay home for the next four years. Part of me is just hoping that you two get to come and try some delicious food. I know you won't be able to try everything. If you get to try some of it, I think you will love it though.
Hello from Denver Colorado we have an amusement park in downtown Denver called ... Six flags at elitch gardens and we have that Tower drop ride we call it the Tower of Doom I've done it once and that's all I need to do it literally felt like all of my insides were coming up and out of my head
Carol, I was terrified of heights until I decided to face them head on, by going skydiving. I am no longer afraid of heights, but I will never skydive again. 🤣 That free fall before you open your chute is just…😱😳😵💫😬 Love from Houston, Texas ♥️🇺🇸🇸🇪
Another fun Jolly video! Also have huge fear of heights. Even trying to watch footage of someone being up high, or spinning, my body responds as if I'm actually experiencing it. :( I'd join Carol on a park bench, safely on the ground, while the others were off flying, falling, etc. Can't help but think of all the food that goes to waste given how big the portions are. Carol's parents are on their way or, perhaps, have already arrived? Have a great weekend!
Carol talking about their theme parks... "The food is not good there, but we're used to that." 😄 I feel bad that they pay for and are used to bad food at the parks, but I couldn't help but laugh at the comment. It's as if it's not a big deal to know you're going to get food that isn't good, and you just roll with it. 🙂 I'm going to see if I can find information on the theme parks, there and hopefully see footage of the rides, food and other attractions.
You guys need to do more reactions videos from JOLLY! Watch "Two Brits try REAL Nashville Hot Chicken for the first time!" (that's what JOLLY is referring to in the video).
It's not just "Americans do this" - it's a crummy ol' amusement park-!! That's the amazing - AND TRUTHFUL. Also, we microwave these for 25-30 seconds and MMMM.

I agree
Dolly Parton is a Co-Owner. Herschend Family Entertainment is the other Co-owner and Operator.
You better take lots of money with you. Lots to ride and lots to see!
9 to 5 is hilarious and its amazing how young Jane Fonda looks especially if youre used to her older. And Lily Tomlin fabulous!
@@forestcatkay14 Yes, amazing how she looks like a traitor, young or old.

Dolly Parton was born and raised in East Tennessee.
Dolly started Dollywood in part to provide jobs for her family members to have work
More to provide work for the surrounding communities. It employees almost 5,000 people.
Wearing matching t shirts makes it easier to find each other in a crowd!
unless there was a sale lol. be sure to double check you've got the right man!
She is smart, sassy, and a true, real honest-to-grace angel = love you, thank you Dolly
I love how Carol rolls her eyes when they tried the brisket/pulled pork sandwiches!😂❤
I have to admit, I need to have a snack when I watch your videos with food in them because they make me so hungry..lol.

Dollywood isn't the largest American theme park, but it's the best. Dollywood has great roller coasters, great food, fantastic shows, and clean restrooms. Dollywood also has a separate water park beside the theme park.

The best fries I’ve ever had
French fries with Jamaican jerk seasoning with bbq sauce and sour cream on them topped with green onions ! Omg so good
Watching people ride roller coasters is as far as I will ever go to riding one. I grew up watching Final Destination and have been traumatized since.
I just want Carol and Recky to be my next door neighbors so bad! We'd have great block parties!

Dollywood encompasses 150 acres of land in Tennessee. That's a good sized park. 😊
If you love theme parks for the food and not for the rides then the best day to go is a rainy day.
When Dolly visits the park she has an apartment there and she has been known to fly a brassier from the flagpole.
Merry Christmas Recky and Carol. Have a safe and wonderful holiday. Best wishes from Roane county, Tennessee 😊🙏

Then cut west through Knoxville, Nashville & Memphis. Or go north up the Blueridge pkwy into Appalachia. Choosing your exit point when desired. Yes it’s drivable in 3 weeks. Mostly. Depending on what y’alls interests are.
Hi guys, I love you the video. Just remember you have the grill now so now you can make that stuff we will be watching.😊
Maybe that is what you two should base your tour of the US on. Theme parks. Put Carol on all the really tall rides. 😁
Dollywood is in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Check out Christmas at Dollywood. It's beautiful. Carol will love it
You need to watch when they go to a baseball game down in Texas
I haven't been to Dollywood since I was a little kid, but now I want to go back and pay the entrance fee just so I can go buy some of that cinnamon bread!
Its a must see place in Tennessee along with Gatlinburg, which is just a few minutes from DollyWood theme park.
And don't miss taking one of the roller coasters that you can actually control the speed down the side of the mountain.
I've had the cinnamon bread from there 🤤 I promise it's still good the next day if there's any left! ❤
Loved this and your reactions. You need to do the one before this when they eat 'Real Nashville Hot Chicken'.
I am afraid of heights , I can't watch the coasters without my palms tingling and sweating ,
I can't even watch a movie like Cliff Hanger where Sylvester Stallone tries to save the girl .
Heat up the cinnamon bread the next day or even two and it will still be good to eat.
Carol, I was terrified of heights until I decided to face them head on, by going skydiving. I am no longer afraid of heights, but I will never skydive again. 🤣 That free fall before you open your chute is just…😱😳😵💫😬
Love from Houston, Texas ♥️🇺🇸🇸🇪
Wow! You jumped in....er...i mean "out" with both feet. You're braver than i am for sure. Haha. Merry Christmas.
They come on sunday! 😃
Dolly Parton may be the only thing all Americans agree on. I've loved her since I first watched her as a child on the Porter Wagoner Show.
Carol talking about their theme parks... "The food is not good there, but we're used to that." 😄
I feel bad that they pay for and are used to bad food at the parks, but I couldn't help but laugh at the comment. It's as if it's not a big deal to know you're going to get food that isn't good, and you just roll with it. 🙂
I'm going to see if I can find information on the theme parks, there and hopefully see footage of the rides, food and other attractions.
Dollywood is 160 acres(64.75 hectares).
Yes Dolly Parton owns Dollywood
You guys need to do more reactions videos from JOLLY!
Watch "Two Brits try REAL Nashville Hot Chicken for the first time!" (that's what JOLLY is referring to in the video).
It's not just "Americans do this" - it's a crummy ol' amusement park-!! That's the amazing - AND TRUTHFUL. Also, we microwave these for 25-30 seconds and MMMM.
Wooden rollercoasters are ROUGH - RUFF! Tough to take, too... I feel 'beat up' afterwards.
The USA is the Melting pot we all bring things to the Table Thats what makes us America strong
