Funny enough this is actually the building the hit show "The Nanny" used for the exterior shots of the Sheffield residence!! So cool to see what the inside looks like after all these years watching the show.
I don't really care about amenities because that means you have to interact with neighbors which I don't prefer to do. That is probably my favorite or one of my favorite apartments that you have shown so far. The lobby is awesome too.

I left NYC in 2009 but it sure looks, like the Whitney I had visited many times. I also spent time visiting the Frick which was also housed on 5th but in a French chateau like building with beautiful grounds, unusual for 5th Ave.
The over closet cabinet is suitcase storage. A great-aunt had them in her home, she called them trunk/suitcase cabinets. A beautiful home, great elevator
I love old NYC. Can't really find buildings that are made like this anymore. I've always wanted to live in an apartment like this next to the best park NYC has to offer. Beautiful exterior. The tiny sink is prep-sink size rather than kitchen size. And, they should have contrived a better place for the washer& dryer or at least spent a coulple hundred more dollars for the stainless finish to match the other appliances. Such a beautiful townhouse in the Beaux Arts style from 1902. I love the exterior, but the renovation is very disappointing. One can only imagine how beautiful were the original 26 rooms and 10 bathrooms. It would have been great if more of the original design could have been incorporated in the renovation. And those air conditioners in the fan windows above the french windows-really!
And that kitchen sink! What am I suppose to do with that? I couldn't even fill a pot with water to make pasta let alone rinse anything in it or wash something in it. Rediculous! So not impressed with this place or the rental price. Glad I don't live in new York. I have over 1000 sq ft 2 bedroom apt in a beautiful historic area on the 1st FL in a lovely vintage 2 story building. Living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom with lovely vintage character but modern amenities, 2 lovely size bedrooms with big closets. Patio and small totally private garden out patio doors off living room. A/C and ceiling fans and laundry. Owner pays heat and cooking gas and hot and cold water. We pay electric. Very quiet here with parking, $850 a month. The only thing that could make this place better is if it was in the UK and not the USA...lol

Finally someone who knows these types of houses that were built during the guilded age. I’m obsessed with this style of architecture. I’m dying to know what it looked like inside before the owner destroyed this masterpiece.
Central Park was a home for families decades ago. Before Central Park was built, a predominantly African American community, but in 1857, the city used eminent domain to forcibly remove them. Police removed those who resisted. Seneca Village was New York's first free black community. One family that lived there, the Lyons, fought to make New York City a more just place as the country worked to overcome centuries of slavery. Now decades later, a monument was made (2019) to commemorate the village.
For almost $5900 a month, you'd expect the apartment to be nice. In fact, we have seen apartments in less desirable neighborhoods for about the same price. You have proximity to the Frick Museum, Central Park, and other museums as well. Everything is in top condition. If you have a great job it would be a great place to rent.
This apartment would be a total dream to live in. I loved everything about it. I could never afford it but I’m only dreaming. It is by far my favorite property you have shown. Thanks Cash.
The Frick Museum is basically an old house full of famous art pieces that was collected over the years by the original owner. Looks like they moved it to a new location. Definitely worth a look!
That museum is in a temporary space. It's permanent location is an old mansion on 5th. Spouse absolutely refuses to visit the Frick while in the modern building.
@@grsnider Sorry she feels that way. It is actually quite refreshing to see the collection in a modern space removed from the placement the Frick family had in their mansion. It gives a fresh perspective on the art absent the house. It is only temporary, so not quite sure what the fuss is. If she is a true lover of art, she would enjoy it.
something about watching your apartment and home tours in the morning while doing my online work and assignments is so calming and relaxing and refreshing. keep up the videos I love them.
I don't know Cash. What the hell did they do to that apartment? The flats on that block usually have spacious rooms and the kitchen usually has a kitchen sink not a wetbar sink.
It’s very disappointing that the current owner did to this beautiful town house that was built during the Guilded Age era. It’s a sad shame the owner turned it into apartments. The house came with an elevator. I could imagine what this placed looked like before. Goes to show you that people care about money than preserving historical architecture that’s built to last hundred of years.
One of my favorite places on Earth! As a kid, my Mom took me and my sister on a geology hunt in Manhattan when she was going to uni and her professor was just fascinated that an 8 year old kid paid more attention and asked better questions than his paying students. I remember when he showed us a 4'piece of standing bedrock and pointed to its mottled surface and said it was an imprint of dinosaur skin. It looked it once was a full piece, but the plate had been destroyed by a long gone construction crew. One of my most treasured memories. That apartment was nice! The area looks quiet, the ivy? Nice and yet no. Laundry? YES! The bathroom? Hmm. The overall size and esthetic? I think you have a winner.
Wow! Where is that? Next time I’m in town, I’d like to see it. Actually a city geology hunt sounds fun. I like to learn about quirky fun things in the city like this…..I loved learning about the whispering wall in Grand Central.
The rent would pay 5 months of my mortgage in Maryland for a whole house. Not looking to move but definitely tell friends who live in NYC about your channel. Also your videos brighten my day 😊
Yep that was the town house from the sitcom The Nanny! Amazing I’m a sitcoms nerd I went to see it in person. To get to see the inside put me over the top! But yes it’s sad it was broken up into units! But it’s a great apartment! Thanks 😊
Beautiful! My kind of vintage place! Love the brick and large rooms, high ceilings! And the entrance once inside the building is so pretty! Great location! Cash: I need a better key system; DUMP the keys from the metal can. Lololol 🤣 Have a great weekend Cash!
Even on days I don't have time to watch the whole video, I always click on your video and press the like button out of respect for your work ethic! 6 videos a week is hustler status!!!
Great apartment! Two people, 3000 a month each, and you have a really nice big bedroom, great kitchen, and big living room! Really nice! And a great location…across from the park❣️ hard to beat!
$300 a day, plus utilities. If you ever leave your cocoon of self-absorption and cluelessness, look around. No doorman, one bathroom, that ridiculous kitchen layout, this is NOT a decent price.
I grew up in a now 100 year old apartment building in uptown NYC. A lot of the buildings up there are from around the 1910s-1920s. A lot of the charm in older buildings you just don’t see anymore.
Those buildings were built when workmanship meant something and were built to last . That is why they still exist because the structures are sound and easily renovated over the decades.
The Frick at Madison is the temporary home of. The Frick Museum on 5th Avenue that is being renovated. It will take two years. Frick was the rich man who paid to build the museum and its his collection.
Gorgeous apartment!! I'm a big fan of prewar buildings and the beautiful architecture that never goes out of style. I'd love to see more studio apartments in these kinds of buildings... but I know they're rare. Great video. 👍
I would live in this beautiful apartment. The floors and exposed brick walls are beautiful. I am sure that when it was a single-family home it was stunning.
The apartment is great, it’s lovely, but the renovation breaks my heart. This is not a Victorian building nor is it from that period in the cities history, and yet around all the doorways you have Victorian looking molding. And that gorgeous chandelier is probably an original in a room with a very different use. And why in such a big place would u have a minuscule sink? Great neighborhood of course!
Yep, I think those high storage spaces above the closets were originally transom windows above doors that opened to a hallway or other rooms in a time b4 the floor was divided into apartments. Transom windows were opened in summer to aid airflow and cool the home.
this a Beaux Arts Style limestone mansion that was built during the guilded age (1830s - 1930) which is NYC history because it started in NYC. This is clearly NOT a Victorian house. These types of mansions and townhouses were meant to impress guests as they walk in. Unfortunately, the current owners doesn’t care for its historical value and architecture, he instead turned each room into apartment. Damn shame
Definitely one of my favorites. Everything from the location, to the lobby and even the look you get from the windows is unbelievable, jus like the price.
The "last of its kind"??? Seriously, what you are showing is an apartment gutted and cut up by developers. It's nothing near what it was originally--that "incredible layout" is full of tiny little rooms--like that bedroom. something likely 1/3 of an original living room or parlor. And, while this apartment might retain some of the beautiful architectural features [high ceilings and windows or wood floors (mainly b/c they are so structural) ] it retains little of the original, and gorgeous, character of a century-old building. You could find that ridiculous marble bathroom in any McMansion in Texas.
Hmm... I would have loved to have seen more character within the apartment given the age of the structure and its location. But, just steps away from Central Park? It's quite nice and nicely priced. $5895/month (how did they come up with that number?) is a good price for that unit and location.
@@DailyRants89; Oh, yesss... if for nothing else the historical significance of the neighborhood. This property is in "Millionaire's Row"--more specifically, where the very rich/elite lived during the gilded age. That's why you have 11FT ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, among other building features There aren't many of these mansions and apartments left up there. Then the building is only a stone's throw away from Central Park, you're right on Museum Mile, 5TH Avenue... $6K/month for a 2 bedroom in that area is actually somewhat on the cheap side.
Lovely apartment and great location! Your videos and jokes really makes my day Cash! Has anyone else noticed the exact same bathroom grey and white tiled walls in at least a dozen if not more different apartments that Cash has shown? Is it the cheapest option? lol
😂 😂 😂 There must definitely be a section in the store that says 'landlords and developers'. Those tiles are better than the "marble" decor panels you also see in rentals.
@@eattherich9215 All that patterned tile in the bathrooms make me dizzy. Better to have plain tiles in those small bathrooms. BTW, re medicine cabinets, you shouldn’t actually keep medicine etc in the bathroom - heat and moisture are a no-no!

Cash Jordan. ..the things that you find exciting are things we here in the Midwest have everyday!! Laundry is not the most important thing and what is your fascination with sink sprayers? This building is very cool!!
I’m very excited for Matrix 4! And yes Idris Elba for James Bond. As to this apartment… well just take all my money now! It’s incredible. Beautiful building and amazing location! The classic New York brick walls and the ivy…. 🤤 The layout is nice too with the space at the doorway for shoes. As I don’t like people in my home, I would stick with the breakfast bar for dining and make the living room luxurious with a deep comfy couch
Cabinets need to be painted the color of the mortar between the bricks.....Interior Designer, here.....I'm doin' it, I have two brick arches in my kitchen......tired of pure white laminate cabinets.....,going for renovation in the Spring......copper countertops, will love the brick...
Just curious as to why you tend to just shut appliances so hard? Most appliances don't need that kind of power to close them. Just shut them gently. That is, of course, if you don't own them. It appears that most of the places that you review seem to be well-kept. Please treat all items in your videos gently. They really don't need the extra hard-handedness.
That building was built the same year as my Craftsman bungalow that I live in in Mount Vernon, WA. :) Love the view out the windows with that ivy and flowers. Would be really cool to take photos each season of what it looks like.
Does it have AC? He didn't say and all you can see is uncovered radiators. Is heat included in the rent? No evidence of any building security either. Guess you need at least $300K annual income to feel comfortable paying $72K a year rent.
Now I see why New Yorkers always thought Rachel and Monica’s apartment was so ludicrous. Not the apartment so much as them being able to afford it. This is probably got to be one of the closest I’ve seen in square footage to what they had in “Friends”.....and it’s almost $6000 a month! 😂
The building in this video looks familiar. Is this the same house that was shown for exteriors of the Sheffield house in Fran Drescher's TV series "The Nanny"? The ivy over the window may look good and provide a curtain but is terrible for buildings as it gets into spaces and cracks and damages the building. Pedestal sinks are nice and multi-purpose. I've seen a pedestal sink used as a birdbath in someone's front lawn!
Help I don't know what to do. I have been watching your latest videos in the evening on my TV and now I have found you on UA-cam on my computer. Do I choose my evening viewing or my daily viewing?
Mmmmm...that's one of those Rain showers..i used to have one when i owned my own house..looks & feels like standing in the rain.....except..warmer..lol... WoW what a place! Hope you guys had a Great Turkey Day!
An evelator! I find the apartment too dark and having your windows covered with plants is not a "free" curtain. The building looks better from the outside and I find the closets are old. Nice space and location for sure, but I won't rent this place for that price and live in darkness. I would much rather "rent' your sense of humor Cash!
Nice characteristic building with a townhouse facade. Very nice apartment with a coffered ceiling and brick wall for the living area. Nice new kitchen that you can cook and do laundry at the same time. The bedrooms could be bigger for the price but you are paying for the location square footage.
No amenities are great! It means they can’t over charge you for things you will never really use anyway. What a beautiful apartment. The ceilings are beautiful, in unit laundry, the exposed brick, the windows- all wonderful to have. The building itself is amazing! Only thing is, I tend to feel to cramped in these long apartments. I’d rather have a big square than a long rectangle, if that makes sense. So while it is gorgeous, I would prolly pass on it. When pretty is the main selling point, it’s just not enough. Pretty only goes so far. Just like ladies- it needs something more to be able to have a long term relationship with it.
The bedrooms are long, but not too narrow. The best place for the bed would be in the middle of the long wall. There is room to walk around and to put a dresser.
That neighborhood is very nice. I like your videos, but please be more respectful of other people's property. Is there a need to slam the doors of every appliance? Not cool....
That brought back memories. About 12 years ago I spent a week in New York and stayed with an old friend of my mom’s who lived in an 1899 building at 77th and Park Avenue. Apartment was the entire floor, had been in her ex-husband‘s family since the 1930’s. I think it was the 12th floor, had what she said was the largest balcony on Park Avenue, and it was about 15 feet long. Got to live the NYC life for a few days. As a suburbanite from Texas it was an experience. Was strange having to call down to the lobby for the doorman to bring up the manually operated elevator every time wanted to leave.
Funny enough this is actually the building the hit show "The Nanny" used for the exterior shots of the Sheffield residence!! So cool to see what the inside looks like after all these years watching the show.

It's called, If the door on the fridge, dishwasher, oven etc., fall off don't rent this one. 🤣🤣🤣
yup... and then slams the doors shut! Oh boy, be careful, Cash.
I have noticed this 🤔
@@MrGlenn8 Point taken.
I’m in love with the ceilings in this place, and the ivy covered window! Out of my budget but still beautiful!
Gorgeous building, shame the landlord didn't keep the same character in the apartment.
Fabulous apartment! And for once, at that price point, separate washer and dryer. 👍 Makes me want to live in Manhattan.
I love the old pre-war buildings. The interior views were beautiful. Thanks for showing this one.
STOP SLAMMING THE KITCHEN DOORS BEFORE YOU BREAK IT. FRIDGE, DISHWASHER AND SINK SPRAYER ❤😍🤣🤣🤣
It's called, If the door on the fridge, dishwasher, oven etc., fall off don't rent this one. 🤣🤣🤣
something about watching your apartment and home tours in the morning while doing my online work and assignments is so calming and relaxing and refreshing. keep up the videos I love them.
I don't know Cash. What the hell did they do to that apartment? The flats on that block usually
have spacious rooms and the kitchen usually has a kitchen sink not a wetbar sink.
Given the way all the rooms are oddly chopped up/shaped and sized, they divided a larger apartment(s) into smaller ones to make more money.
We love you Cash
One day CASH Is going to put out a blooper video of all the appliances he has broken by slamming them . 😆
😂😂😂😂
More like a bankruptcy statement cause he broke some hella expensive appliances 🤣
That would be so much fun to watch! lol
Those Impractical Jokers guys could rig up an apartment like you are talking about. Every time CASH will touch something , it will fall apart !
It’s not really funny. It’s disgusting that he thinks it’s OK to treat other people’s property that way.
My apartment. Mine. Moving in tomorrow! 🍸🍸🍸🥳
Love your channel ❤ such a difference between Alberta apartments and New York apartments, thank you for the awesome content!
The frisk Museum is unbelievable, one of the best in NYC. Enjoyed the video. Ty.
Maybe that's the only way they can pay for upkeep and property taxes on the building. Just a guess
No one except Saudi princes could afford it as one house.
Real estate has to pay for itself.
Who wants to live in a guilded age apartment in todays world? The renovations are great.
@@BPDNJ I agree. I like the old style and trim but want to live in a place with modern renovations.
Loved that little Dino skin on the stone story! Thank You for sharing it here!
It's still there.
Wow! Where is that? Next time I’m in town, I’d like to see it. Actually a city geology hunt sounds fun. I like to learn about quirky fun things in the city like this…..I loved learning about the whispering wall in Grand Central.
I love the exterior of the building and that elevator is pretty neat! :) Happy Thursday!
This one is by far my favorite! The views are great and it's in the perfect location!
The location is the only perfect thing about this apartment!
Lovely apartment. I wish the main living area had a better view. Thanks Cash.
The rent would pay 5 months of my mortgage in Maryland for a whole house. Not looking to move but definitely tell friends who live in NYC about your channel. Also your videos brighten my day 😊
Beautiful apartment!! 😍😍
Wow, that kitchen sink is TINY!
Ridiculously so. Having a dishwasher is not a real substitute.
Wow!!!! What a time capsule! My old neighborhood! Thank you!
I'm pretty sure this is the building they used to shoot the exterior of the Sheffield house in the Nanny in the 90s. 🥰
Just looked it up it was
@@brady4222 pretty cool right?
Great apartment! Two people, 3000 a month each, and you have a really nice big bedroom, great kitchen, and big living room! Really nice! And a great location…across from the park❣️ hard to beat!
$300 a day, plus utilities. If you ever leave your cocoon of self-absorption and cluelessness, look around. No doorman, one bathroom, that ridiculous kitchen layout, this is NOT a decent price.
David Webb, that's the true identity, or the original identity, for Jason Bourne!
11-foot ceiling? NICE! You barely get 8 feet these days.
Having 8 foot ceilings seems like a luxury. The ceilings in my building here in Virginia are only 7 feet high!
@@sharynlikantor Damn! and i thought NYC was tough. some old houses/buildings have 9-foot ceilings here but it's hard to find those nowadays.
Bathtub is a deal breaker. for almost $6,000 a month, you would expect a walk-in glass shower. stepping into a bathtub is so yesterday
Considering the Victorian era ended with the death of Queen Victoria in 1901, its not too far off.
this a Beaux Arts Style limestone mansion that was built during the guilded age (1830s - 1930) which is NYC history because it started in NYC. This is clearly NOT a Victorian house. These types of mansions and townhouses were meant to impress guests as they walk in. Unfortunately, the current owners doesn’t care for its historical value and architecture, he instead turned each room into apartment. Damn shame
@@nhmisnomer Or they were suitcase/steamer trunk storage.
Definitely one of my favorites. Everything from the location, to the lobby and even the look you get from the windows is unbelievable, jus like the price.
6k a month and 1 bathroom. Wow
It’s beautiful but you’re definitely paying for location with this one!
Hey Cash! That little cabinet on the island is probably for dishware… it’s so that it’s closer for setting the table!
Plus it's dark AF
Thank you!
@@elizabethm6657 Yes it is and rather a spooky vibe .Manhattan carved up really sad that today Money comes before original style.
@@sarahjones-jf4pr yeah, because the Gilded Age robber barons had nothing to do with money
Was thinking the same thing as you. Also the guy lives in New York, but has no idea that the Frick is a famous art museum?
This is gorgeous! $5800 a month for this isn’t bad at all!
Hmm... I would have loved to have seen more character within the apartment given the age of the structure and its location. But, just steps away from Central Park? It's quite nice and nicely priced. $5895/month (how did they come up with that number?) is a good price for that unit and location.
6k a month is a good price?
@@DailyRants89; Oh, yesss... if for nothing else the historical significance of the neighborhood. This property is in "Millionaire's Row"--more specifically, where the very rich/elite lived during the gilded age. That's why you have 11FT ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, among other building features There aren't many of these mansions and apartments left up there. Then the building is only a stone's throw away from Central Park, you're right on Museum Mile, 5TH Avenue... $6K/month for a 2 bedroom in that area is actually somewhat on the cheap side.
6k a month is insane.
@nash, One bathroom? No doorman? Are you nuts?
$6k a month RENT not MORTGAGE. RENT!!! I'm so glad I left NYC.
Love the care you take in closing the appliances. 🤨
Lovely apartment in a great area with the park just a few yards away.
I love OG elevators with a cage door. It’s just cool.
Wahahahaha!...soon as he flipped on the light i thought the Very Same Thing...it's like a running theme & i began to wonder if all these apartments are owned by the same landlord/s?........cos..yes..that stick on tile is relatively cheap...Very popular with the Home Improvement DIYers

The layout is nice too with the space at the doorway for shoes.

$72K/year rent????
@@clairelivefreeordie2551 Once you add in utilities, $72K sounds right.
My husband and I just watched the 3rd Matrix last Friday so excited for the 4th one next month. 😊
Monica and Rachel had rent control from Monica's grandmother's era, who had the apt before them.
The views out the windows were the best thing about that apartment.
Just had a quick look at Nanny’s house (Amazon Prime). Certainly looks like it 😀
@@justjane2070 Thanks for checking!
It really does!
Ivy is definitely bad for brickwork and I wouldn't buy into a building what had it.
You're correct. This is it. 7 E 75th St.
Frick is only one of the best collections in NYC. Cmon Man!
For almost 6k/month I'd want a full size sink in the kitchen. The washer and dryer in the kitchen is kinda odd. Great location though.
What a fantasy! I am pretty sure the brick townhouse where we all marvelled early in the video was in the first episode of Sex And The City.
An evelator! I find the apartment too dark and having your windows covered with plants is not a "free" curtain. The building looks better from the outside and I find the closets are old. Nice space and location for sure, but I won't rent this place for that price and live in darkness. I would much rather "rent' your sense of humor Cash!
I thought it was bright.
Imagine the old wood carvings and plaster decor from early 20th century they tore out , too bad they didn't restore instead of renovate .
That neighborhood is very nice. I like your videos, but please be more respectful of other people's property. Is there a need to slam the doors of every appliance? Not cool....
Omg is that the exterior of the building they used as the Sheffields house from the show the nanny? I love the exterior of this building.
I like watching your videos, but why do u have to slam the appliance doors
