    Just found this build/mod. You do a great job of showing what you did specifically and why. Much better than the dudes who snap their fingers and all the piece parts are cut/drilled/tapped. I previously made a straight brake, but I'm looking at your work, as I've come to the conclusion that I need a finger brake more, so mods are in order.
    Thanks and good job

      Hello Beefman, that's great you enjoyed the video. I tried to depict and explain all the important parts the best I could by repeating the process and labeling. You can make one like mine if not better. I have made 3 since then for friends and each one is a little bit different.
      Thanks for watching my video and for the positive comments. Good luck with your project 👍

    Very nice improvement to a HF tool. It would take a bit of figuring to drill and thread holes so that all the fingers interchange anywhere along the upper front of the brake (bolt hole edge distance). Yes, more holes but it would add versatility and eliminate the need to number the fingers. Thanks for posting this.

    • @geniusyaqui1916

      Stovebolt, I thought about configuring more holes for that exact reason. I just figured numbers for a small Brake. Thanks for the like comment and watching my video.

    Very nice job. It brings back memories of 7th grade shop.
    One suggestion if you build another is to space the holes for attaching the fingers evenly. The fingers, as built, must be placed in your original configuration. By using an even spacing you can arrange the fingers to suit your needs.

    • @geniusyaqui1916
      @geniusyaqui1916  Рік тому +1

      Hey Robert, I never had a 7th grade, but that is good advice thank you for that. There was a point in my build I thought of doing tha, but, do to the size of each finger I estimated I would need more holes. That might compromise various things and would need to make other Mods in the build.
      Good idea and comment thanks for watching.

    Very cool! Thanks for taking the time to document and explain in detail how you modded the brake. Watched the 1st modification video yesterday, just finished this one. Was thinking to buy a grizzly 36" pan brake, but, out of stock, the one review didn't have much good to say about it, plus cost is $875. I've got some stock, for most of the mod, won't have to buy much more, just a HF brake. Thanks again!

      Hello @@geniusyaqui1916 . I was daydreaming up ideas for appliance metal. The cases off of washing machines and dryers. Seems like there is a never ending supply of them.
      Silly as it sounds,...I was thinking of roofing material for bird houses. Or perhaps a standing seam roof for a small dog house.
      I also wonder if making welded flashing for around chimneys or skylights would work.
      I'm still in the hmmmm phase.
