You've always been my go to before buying any Fujifilm, this was no exception. Love all the details and nerdy info, it's so important when choosing a camera. The internal prores footage from this will be interesting to see, it should be super clean. Keep doing what you do man 😎
thanks. I still have my first shooting impressions video, but it's taking a while. I didn't realize how much video footage I took and how much work it is to process it. I have an M1 computer, but it locked up a few times.... time to upgrade?
@@bigheadtaco I know the feeling! I had to sell a few cameras and upgrade, M1 mac, large external SSD and Resolve seems pretty smooth most of the time. Will look forward to the next videos
Wonderfull camera love Fuji !! And great video can't wait to have one in my collection ☺️,oh and it's says Suzhou Fujifilm so maybe comes from china branch of Fuji nevertheless now Fuji has quieted the hundreds of reviewers who keep saying this camera is just for still shooters and hipsters who like the vintage look of camera and the gimmick film simulations just because it didn't have ultra fast eye tracking and auto focus !
The main reason I am interested in this is the ability to record ProRes HQ internally. That and the power zoom lens will make it one heck of a compact video camera!
Only professionals that uses the camera everyday will remember 7 custom settings. For enthusiasts like me, the triangle exposure dials are so much more fun, and that’s one of the main reasons I enjoy my XT3 so much. But the good thing is that this camera don’t trigger my GAS.
This is less a hobbyist camera and more for people who need to get the job done. Using the front and dial to adjust ISO and shutter speed is ergonomically easier to access than the top dials.
really nice to see you do another box opening and getting the camera early to test. really nice to see the HEIF to come - I felt it should be better for jpeg shooters that shoot straight out of camera to just get better results/files with the HEIF right? changing the dial for - Single - continuous - manual focus mode to just a button seems good for people who maybe still wont ever really change their focus options and can use that button for other things instead. even the delete button seems to be a button that can be used when shooting as another function as well was a little surprised that the 40mp version of the camera isnt coming yet and will have to wait, but maybe its for the best to not compete against each other. some doubt on the fan feature and how well it works - will want to see how well it works. the 18-120 also looks great though might not meet my use case - i dont see myself zooming in/out a lot of the time but the zoom range and for video is still appealing. wonder if you can test the S10 as well or maybe that falls in the same category of XT4? as much as this H2S is very impressive , might have to look at the XT4 for my use case and slowly work up to the S in the future.
I think for those who are primarily stills photographers, the standard X-H2 with the high-resolution sensor will be the one to wait for. I'm actually more excited about this fifth-generation processor and what they can do with it, especially in the X-Pro4 and X-T5. Can't wait!!
Looks like a mini gfx100s. PASM dial makes more sense for videographer and more choices for more people. I hope fuji will follow its kaizen and give xt4 firmware to improve autofocus and tracking.
I'll confirm with Billy if it's even possible to push the new Subject Tracking and new Face Detect features in a firmware update to the X-T4. My guess is that it is processor and sensor-specific, but I will confirm as soon as possible...
It's surely going to be on X-T, Pro, and E models. Not sure what the fuss is about. Not every camera (any brand) makes has to always suit your preference/needs. So many of us out here and we all have different preferences/needs. PASM is clearly the superior choice for hybrids. Just wait for your turn with the X-T5, X-Pro4 etc. If anything, I just hate the missing MCS switch in front.
Does the accessory handgrip allow you to charge 2 batteries in it without being connected to the XH2? I use my XH-1 battery grip as a way to charge 2 batteries for my other Fuji cameras that use that same battery like the XPro3.
Hi, nice review, could you tell me if the shutter button is as light as the H1 and that it does not have the stroke stop on the autofocus but goes down smoothly until the click? Because I find this absurd and it made me sell the H1. So I wouldn't want to run back to a machine with the same defect.
I thought this had unlimited recording times or maybe that’s only with 1080 or 4K 24? Also is the body magnesium thicker/more rugged like the original H1? Personally I think the external fan is a clever idea - better than overheating in the middle of a gig. Pumped about that video lens: Fuji needed a good servo zoom lens for sports and event videos, event livestreams, etc. Really curious to see how this lens works with the T4 and H1. Thanks Take
with a stacked sensor the throughput is crazy, but even as a stills camera, the new sensor and processor combination is great. Perhaps the ergonomics aren't ideal for classic Fujifilm stills shooters.
On the subject detection modes, do you have to pick only one at a time, such as "Birds" and it only looks for birds and then if you want to use subject detection for flowers, you have to switch to "Flowers"? Or can it detect all possible subjects available at any time? Would be preferable if it could do them all or selected ones at the same time. I believe iPhones look for multiple subject types at all times (Pets, people, flowers, etc.)
I did a quick ISO test for my Fujilove article, but again, this is not a final production copy. As per Fujifilm there will be a slight improvement in lowlight performance, but no huge leap.
If you already in the Fujifilm ecosystem? If you’re already shooting Sony, I don’t recommend anyone to switch just because of a new body from any other manufacturer. If you already shoot Fujifilm, I would say the same thing. Unless you’re in the top 5% of pro photographers where a narrow spec camera with specific features or performance will make or break your career, I think it’s silly jumping back and forth between camera systems.
@@bigheadtaco it's a good point, if you're already in Fuji's eco system it makes sense to buy this camera. I had on mind someone who doesn't have a camera yet (like myself).
@@michalrv3066 if you can start from scratch, price-performance, it's hard to beat Sony. But remember, just like something like a car, you can stare at spec sheets all day, but until you drive it, you won't really know what you'll prefer.
I can't justify the price point of $2500 for Fuji XH2s APSC camera. This should have been a $1999 camera, considering XT4 is going for $1699. If you are videographer, for the same price you can get Blackmagic 6k Pro. If you are a wild life photographer, you can get Canon R6 Full Frame for the same price. For $1000 less, you can also get Canon R7 APSC for wildlife. If you are a portrait photographer, you can get Nikon Z7 (45MP) Full Frame, Sony A7R3(42MP) Full Frame all for the same price. If you are hybrid shooter, you can get Sony a7 IV for the same price. For every type of photographer, there is a much better alternative camera with more mega pixels and better focusing system for the same price tag. Why bother this Fuji? I think Fuji really missed out on this opportunity.

It's definitely a camera for me. I'm an advanced amateur video videographer. The internal ProRes HQ recording is a big deal for me. Imagine having that same capability in a small mirrorless camera! They'll have no problem selling all that they can make.
I love fujifilm. But honestly, the fact that you need an external fan that costs additional on what’s supposed to be a flagship camera, that is video centric, is pretty embarrassing. You tried to sell It well, but if we’re all being honest, I think we expect more from Fujifilm…
According to some reports the fan is not needed in most video recording situations. It's nice Fujii gives us the option to add it on. I have heard Canon R5 users are resorting to 3rd party solutions because Canon didn't give them this option. It's very innovative of Fujii.
