Alma’s brain is like a generative AI trained on the entire Classical and early Romantic period, she’s completely assimilated common practice tonality at this point and can speak it fluently and remix it at will. I mean, girl is doing sonata form with full development on the fly and still keeping it tuneful and melodious. It’s gonna be fascinating to see what new worlds she will explore within the classical tradition and what other influences she might bring into it.

Alma, I'm sure it's hard for you to understand what it's like for mere mortals to watch you compose -- "improvise" is by no means the correct term -- such a brilliant sonata in a matter of minutes. I know you hate the Mozart comparisons -- and in this performance, it's much more like Liszt! -- but the experience of watching you since childhood is the equivalent for me of going back in time and watching a musical genius become more and more and more sophisticated. The ability to compose at this level in your head is one in a million; the ability to translate what you hear in your mind to the keyboard is another one in a million. As a statistician I can tell you, that makes you almost unique.

When she got that high E, I laughed with the audience and thought there's no way she can get such an awful string of notes and make anything pleasant out of it. But of course, this is Alma, so of course it was absolutely beautiful 💕💛

WOW!!! just wow... I heard the minor triad right away, but what Alma does with it is amazing... It's like she started with the 2nd movement and was able to create 1st movement from the 2nd... It's to bad the strings couldn't have joined in.
I hope she goes with this melody and creates a bigger piece including strings from it. This is such a wondrously beautiful piece I could listen to daily.

Yes. Once Alma gets to work on those four notes, and the Waltz in C-Sharp Minor takes form, it draws you in.
