Yeah I've seen it too but I think it's because they can't find actors or they try to push the charecter to be different because some of those are still red haired in comics

It would be great if Marvel and DC produced shows/movies based on their comics vs gender/race/sexuality swapping characters. It makes people uncomfortable. Create NEW characters and go crazy
Well we all know Nathaniel Richards (kang) is white in the comics and I believe his variants were white as well but Jonathan Majors did a DAMN GREAT JOB AS KANG AND HIS VARIANTS AND I WANTED MORE FROM HIM BUT THE COMPANY RUINED IT FOR US
I haven't followed his story but last I heard he was in court for something pretty bad so I'm not sure how it's the companies fault but everything else I agree with you on. I don't see why race swapping matters if the character in questions race never mattered to their story.
I'm actually happy that he called this out. As there is a long brewing pattern in the comic books, and films, of making films more inclusive by having Black or Asian - *villains.* This is because the same audiences that happily accept a black Lex Luthor or High Evolutionary or Electro - will wet their boy pants, if you have Black Super Man, or Adam Warlock. They literally want a universe of white guy heroes and black, brown and yellow (Mandarin) villains. Note: Shang Chi, gently called this out - when they mentioned how Americans managed to code their villains after a type of orange. Iron Man 3 did too - when they made the Mandarin Ben Kinglsy - but had him pose as an Arab Coded terrorist when it was really the US government exploiting the hatred and racism of modern America. (so ironic, because that troll speaks more about America today than for example the recent non marvel "Civil War" film, or the upcoming Captain America 4 - which is intentionally vapid so as not to upset anyone). Of course this went over the heads of many on this site, but then what doesn't, that isn't aimed at a 7 year old.
Crazy how this has been public knowledge for three years, and now people are suddenly upset about it. Back when it was first announced, everyone seemed fine with it, but as soon as the trailer dropped, the usual anti-woke UA-camrs started making their videos, and now it’s a whole thing.
"Everyone seemed fine with it" this either shows that you live in an echochamber and also that amount of people who gained common sense increased. This however doesn't actually change that race swapping was and always will be re7@rd3d
It is stupid, we being the kindhearted individuals we are, have tolerated it in the name of affording actors work. Okay let’s make Blade white Armin? Yeah it’s stupid as hell. He’s really a Day Walker now.
Hollywood and other races around the world are only ok with black people as villains but not heroes or lead rolls in marvel films and I agree with the X-men showrunner.
The dude seriously needs to take a chill pill! He barely even realizes what he’s complaining about. Also not every X-men 97 decision was perfect either! He’ll get in big trouble and lose his job if he's not careful!
_The dude seriously needs to take a chill pill!_ ^ Just say ouch, and *I resemble that remark.* (since you know it's true) Rather than throwing a hissy (!!!) while 'demanding' that someone else should 'chill'. 🤣
Remember people its not because of people are racist its really because people just want the characters that they know to look exaclty how they are in the comics
My only problem is when people pick and choose when its ok to race swap like with jessica alba sue storm Everyone accepted her and still consider her the best live action version till this day
@Igivegdparent well I guess she still somewhat kinda looked liked the character they also race change wonderman which I hate and they also race changed moon knight
@eliteghost1001 people hate wonderman character from the comments I have seen And they do love moonknight Jessica alba looked nothing like sue storm too me Sue is pale white and doesn't have a tan at all in the comics😅 I think people accepted alba because she is white passing Latina even though she isn't white at all Now im curious if Michael b Jordan was a biracial white passing black man would they have accepted him Oh and throw in a fake blonde wig like alba??
I am black and I agree with the guy about that race swiping stuff nonsense🤦🏽♂️ like what if they made Storm a white woman ?? 😂 all Hell will broke loose lol
Seeing Demayo did make a Character from the original X-Men 90s series Non-Binary and implies Wolverine is Bi, I question on where Demayo draws the line on Swapping
Look this is not to start some huge debate, but please understand what I’m trying to say. I agree with what BO is saying accept for the race swapping being “funny”. (Unless he being sarcastic). What this really is, is disrespectful to us as African American people and to the AA character who we have in comics who barely get a push in their respective comic book universes. By these companies race swapping characters especially white characters and turning them black, your telling AA people that our “representation” in the comics can only be represented/validated through the use of an icon white character and then just race swapping them and then throwing it in our faces and tell us “here’s you representation”. There has been multiple ginger characters who have been race swapped and turned AA, and we are literally seeing them turn “ginger into ninjas” (if you know the offensive quote), and you guys expect us not to call out blatant disrespect/ discrimination towards gingers and AA people. That’s the problem with modern day Marvel and DC, and when we call it out as fans we’re called bigots and racist even when it’s a AA person making these claims and trying to show and tell y’all why it’s offensive. Make original African American and other minority characters if you really want to “represent everyone”. There’s a new comic book universe called the RIPPAVERSE, ran and owned by y a man Named Eric July and he’s ding exactly that and he has been gaining success for 2 years now.
Just stop race swapping, the hypocrisy and the goal post moving on this topic is insane. Support original characters and the studios will stop recycling the same characters over and over and changing their look.
_Support original characters_ This is bs argument sence there is no 'original' character [even the concept of many of these characters predates all comics - comic books are not the bible]. There is only the version of the character you chose to accept as canon. For example - which Cat Woman represents 'original'- Earth Kitt, Michelle Pfeiffer, Zoe Kravitz? According to you, only *1* of them can be Catwoman, and all others must racially resemble whichever one 'you' decide is original...... Whatever the h3ll that means. According to you we can't have a Sam Jackson Nick Fury, or a Michael Fassbender Magneto - because the one is Black, and the other isn't Jewish????
It makes fans happy to see things adapted accurately. It’s become a trend recently to accurately depict things that were considered silly previously, like Wolverine’s yellow costume and Guy Gardner’s bowl cut. Race swapping irritates fans because it changes characters’ appearances. X-Men ‘97 is big into accurate depictions.
Obviously the argument to make Black Panther white is a stupid one but the vast majority of these race swaps aren’t inspired or creative choices at all, it is to look more diverse and get positive publicity. If you don’t like it or even state that you prefer the characters original look, you’re labeled as racist. It is a very lazy trend in the entertainment industry.
Well if it’s as you say “just to look more diverse” then the question still stands what is it hurting? And why is it hurtful to you? It’s a fictional character they can be any color unless it’s somewhat central to their story. Perfect example that isn’t black panther is Kraven. I don’t want a race swapped kraven of any color. He has to be from the caucuses. Same with Dr Doom. But Norman Osborn who is just rich 🤷🏾♂️. If a race swapped character bothers you there are other issues.
Thank you. I agree with this. I don’t understand why people can’t see why this is offensive and just a dumb idea. Push already existing African American characters and create new ones like people are currently doing in the independent comic space.
@@almightyxay1977DEI exchanges greatness for quota’s it’s literally racism. If you don’t think racism is bad then keep hiring people based on race and sacrifice quality.
@@almightyxay1977 I’m not against it all of the time. Sometimes it works, like Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury is a good example imo. The majority of the time I prefer characters the way they were originally created and designed. Implying there are “other issues” because I’m not a fan of it is exactly the weak kind of argument I mentioned in my original comment. I don’t like uninspired or lazy changes to characters it adds nothing to the character or story. It reeks of pandering. Comic’s have a lot of diversity and have become much more diverse in recent years as new characters are created. There isn’t an excuse that there aren’t any characters of color to add to the film roster. These companies will drop diversity in a heart beat the moment it isn’t profitable for them, they don’t care about good stories or in depth characters, they want to keep the media and vocal voices on the internet at bay. Of course, you need to switch things up by changing a character to keep it fresh and ever evolving, Old Man Logan is a good example of that or Falcon becoming Captain America and experiencing a whole new set of social issues that Steve or Bucky never faced is an interesting story to me. Changing a characters race or gender, while adding absolutely nothing to them, is not.
Agreed why does this also look at established character Ice Man now a homosexual, just create goid characters who happen to be a homosexual, Kang was always African like Apocalypse.
I am not a fan of essentially passing on titles to POC like cap, and riri. Stop giving away 'sloppy seconds' and take the time to create unique, new and interesting characters that are POC. Or, draw from the character roster form the Marvel comics. Make Falcon, War Machine more interesting by focusing more on their story rather than swapping out other established characters that are white.
1. We've already had Normon Osborne/Green Goblin in the MCU/film/dozens of shows, so who really cares if we get one version that's black? 2. None of those characters in the list Armin said are really affected by the race swap. Kang is for the majority blue, High Evolutionary is red, Electro wasn't Disney/Marvel's decision it was Fox's (so if your'e mad about that, for whatever reason, be made at those guys), and Baron Mordo isn't even white to begin with - he's asian.
1) I and anyone sane. I don't come to a marvel show to watch a random nobody who for some reason bears a name of a known character, I do it to see them as they are in the original story 2) If it doesn't matter than stay silent and don't change it. YOU bunch are the people who push this so take accountability for your actions And lol since when race swapping an Asian acceptable? Wasn't your whole justification that "black people are under represented unlike white people"? Oh wait I forgot that we Asians are now white adjacent and are part of honorary @ry@ns lol
@@tabkg5802facts. Why do African American people need to be validated and represented in comics only if they are using an icon white character but then switch them out and make them black. It’s downright offensive and needs to stop. No other minority characters get this treatment.
I dont care about the race-aspect of it. I just want comic accuracy. No, I dont want a white Tchalla or white Blade either. I want them, as they exist in the comics and their original forms. I dont mind black actors playing or voicing characters like Silver Surfer or Kang, if they put them in white paint or a mask for the entire duration. Then the adaption isnt effected in the slightest. But when they put the actors face front and center for a character they dont resemble at all, it breaks my suspension of disbelief and takes me out of the experience. No, I never bought Jamie Fox as Electro, nor Majors as Kang. They are great actors, but when I see them on screen, I dont see their comic counterparts. I just see the actors playing a role. Its literally that simple. Yes, Marvel has a problem with black representation, but thats a different topic and its certainly not solved by raceswapping white characters.
It’s not that simple though. An actors face is one of their biggest marketing points. Obviously there are exceptions like voice actors or Doug Jones who’s known for being buried under makeup/costumes. MCU has always shown the actors face (except fully CGI characters) so that’s why people like Captain America or Spiderman almost never have their mask on during the climax. Norman in the Spiderman show is arguably more comic accurate than Willem Dafoe because of the waves and green suit.
@@sammcfarland967 Yes. Yes it is just that simple. There is more than enough great actors out there who can properly play roles. Looking the part is an important part of acting. "Snow White" "Her skin was almost as white as snow" How are you gonna pull up to me with an actress darker than my shadow and say it's peak lmao? "Black Panther" The dude lives in Africa, dafuq? How is you gonna come up to me with an actor lighter than a piece'o paper and say it's a decent depiction, also... The fuck? How does the green TUX make him accurate? I get the waves but Norman wore like 9000 casuals in comic books. The fuck does his TUX being green make it accurate for?
@@sammcfarland967 I mean, you're not wrong. Hate when they pull the mask off, just to show the actors face, when it doesnt match the character at all. I dont want to see RDJs face as Doom. I want the iron mask. But im guessing we aint getting much of that, sadly.
eh, race-swapping is usually fine & inconsequential when it comes to secondary, tertiary, etc characters but when it is done to a titular character it requires an enormous amount of consideration. really though it all just depends on the story that is being told. i do have a bit of a visceral reaction to any change being made to any beloved character but then i think about it for like 2 seconds & i'm like, "oh wait, they actually change all sorts of things all the time that i don't even notice, why tf am i even noticing this? especially when it has zero impact on the story..."
It doesn't matter whether or not it's a defining aspect of the character. It's the fact that people have been reading comics since they were a child, and they want to see characters that look like the characters they read in comics. Obviously, characters can't look exactly the same as they look in comic books, but race is a fundamental aspect of the character ie that's what the character looks like.
So we can accept that people generally can't look exactly like comic characters but draw the line when race is changed. Would yourather an actor who looked the part(racially I guess) but acted like crap and didn't do the character justice or an actor who may not be the same race but embodies the characters personality and overall theme? Not saying these are the only 2 options but what would hurt your childhood heart more since apparently that's the guiding force here. Seeing your fave character portrayed inaccurately but looks somewhat like the comics(racewise) or portrayed accurately (personality etc) but black. I'm genuinely interested to know
@@jayp9881 I'm not going to waste my time responding to some hypothetical question. The fact that you can't seem to comprehend the simple point I'm making is a problem. There are lots of black characters that you can choose from. Look at the Eternals situation, you already had 1 black character and 2 females. It wasn't enough they still had to change the sex of the characters! Completely asinine. I'm a black comic book fan by the way. I want to see black super heroes but I want it done the right way.
Awesome topic. Credit to Armin for creating a space to discuss. This discussion would be IMPOSSIBLE on Grace Randolph fake site, as she will eliminate any discourse that disagrees with her.
Mad how no one in the 80s and 90s didn't care about Harvey Dent being race swapped by the great Billy Dee Williams and now decades later people don't shut up about race swaps. Would I rather that they make new and unique minority characters, yes, does that mean I care all that much if a character gets race swapped, no so long as the core tenants of the character remain the same.
While i admit that it feel strange to see a black-skinned Norman Osborn (And a black-skinned Harry Osborn while we're at it), i don't see why make a big deal it about it. It's not like he's from the MCU...even though the Show is technically Canon thanks to the Multiverse.
Stop thinking of this as race swapping. The MCU characters are not the same as the comic book characters, therefore they are whoever the writers decide to make them.
It's not a new thing, they just do it because it gets less backlash than changing the main character but its been happening for decades and its perfectly fine. Most of these characters were made back when they weren't allowed to even make black characters or they weren't allowed to be prominent. Beau needs to do some research.
Exactly you can see he has waves which is weird since it's rare for white people to have waves and he even wears a durag which shows he came out from black culture
_but its been happening for decades and its perfectly fine._ _Most of these characters were made back when they weren't allowed to even make black characters or they weren't allowed to be prominent._ ^ Explain again why the thing in the second sentence is 'perfectly fine' as per the 1st sentence. I can assure you that many people are *not* perfectly fine with it. Beau isn't.
Seriously why do go straight to Tchalla .Cyborg falcon miles and others are there and God you have white wolf this just shows that not many black characters are original they're either a legacy or have to replace
Most of the performances from those black villains were awesome. The roles didn't attack black people in a political way other than maybe Black Panther's Kilmonger. Not all the villains are black or non white either. Yet, it is not fair to pretend that sensitivity to seeing enough of them being black when so many are hearing blatant anti-black comments from people in authority and seeing out right murders of unarmed black people on video. Then, while it is good most of it isn't attacking black people politically, some of it is like the Bradleys and Kilmonger. Meanwhile, I think realistic cultural issues are played for laughs and favored by whites. Like there are a lot of black bullies like Doakes in Dexter, that creep in the first Escape Room, O-Dog from Menace to Society, and how Kenny got mean during Cobra Kai. However, that bullying is often much more deadly towards blacks and non English speaking people only enough to often make women, especially white women, horny seeing other people being harmed.
For everyone saying "lets stop race swapping period" how about lets stop caring it happens when it doesn't matter to the character. Especially when you're just looking for confirmational bias from a guy bent on nuking his career as a showrunner.
Just cuz the guy an ass hat doesn't mean what's he's saying isn't true. The amount of red heads or gingers that have been turned black for no good reason is dumb and lazy.
I take race swaps on a case by case basis. But there are hypocritical opinions all around. Many of the people who said race swaps are okay when the race doesn’t matter to a characters backstory were also outraged that Danny Rand was white. The fish out of water rich white guy being exposed to a new culture and coming to appreciate and respect it is important to Danny’s origin.
I never understood the issue... If the race doesnt matter to a characters background or storyline and they have an actor that fits the role why does it matter if the race gets swapped. Ive heard nick fury mentioned and i think thats a great start. As far as im aware his whiteness was never a main aspect of his character so when they choose an actor who isnt white and yet still embraces the role given whats the issue. For the mobs saying they hate the wokeness of just swapping away roles due to race i question if that race was ever of any importance to said character and why that attachment exists. Id agree if the race swapped character actor didnt do a good job portaying the character but my issue would then be about the writing or potentially the acting and not the fact a character was simply race swapped. Its so confusing when people are upset by an actor of a different skin color accurately portraying a character. Then it comes down to discrediting that actors performnce simply due to their race which just seems racist to me especially when the characters race never mattered to begin with. Id love to know more because i just cant wrap my head around why this matters?
Armin says others are dumb, he needs to look in the mirror. His weak example is Black Panther, when he could of said Blade, Storm or Miles Morales instead, but he chose T'Challa as he knew it would stir up his comment section. You are pathetic Armin, call me out if you like, couldn't care less.
I mean it’s animation and not canon to mcu, hasn’t even come out yet.. I would understand the concern if it was live action, and they made their character all about being that race change, or if the original is defined by the race they were changed from. Weren’t a lot of characters made when other races weren’t as mainstream as being white was? it’s the mcu… not comics we’re in a different time, im still against making everyone that’s white different just for the fucks of it. we still need most heavy hitters to be what they looked like in the comics so they’d be recognizable to readers. Do we love these characters cause of their color? Or their ambitions, actions, stories, losses, etc. we can’t just limit most characters to white actors when 61% of them are already white in the mcu, if someone does the character good and is a different race then let’s give them a chance, these characters can be familiar and new. (idk just an opinion)
I'm still confused when did anyone say that Norman Osborne was going to be race swapped they've shown trailers he looks exactly the same that is clearly a white man not to mention his son Peter Parker's best friend also a white man what the f*** are we talking about here where is this information coming from can anyone confirm or deny or show any proof or evidence that this was ever even said because every trailer I've seen has shown a white Norman Osborne that looks almost exactly like what he looked like in the comics
I'm confused they've already shown trailers and bits and pieces for the upcoming Spider-Man and Norman Osborne was not race swapped so what the f*** are we talking about? Mordo? Who fkn cares Kang was always blue never black or white he, looked Egyptian as the conquerer but looked asian as iron lad so long as cyclops stays black and storm stays asian who cares by the way wolverine is now philipino but was raised in the uk he now has a cockny accent and is 6'4....(toast to cavelrine)
I actually really dislike the race swapping people will call me racist but jokes on you because I’m Mexican, but yeah characters like ghost in the MCU I wish it was a guy or like the female swapping the one I disliked the most was taskmaster oh god why!?
@VELVETVELVENIR-7q _the race swapping people will call me racist but jokes on you because I’m Mexican,_ That's racist. lol. I alway dismiss anyone post that tries to claim credibility on the internet by false authority claims based on identity. *I'm a world famous super model, btw, so trust me on this!!* 🤣 [ie - if your ideas are valid then you don't need to hide behind irrelevant personal claims]
I really dont see the issue with Norman being a black guy in this spiderman universe. His character isnt affected by his race. And before we get the "well what if black panther was white" arguments in here, it wouldnt work because being black is central to T CHALLAs character. Now a white guy could temporarily take up the MANTLE of BP until the rightful owner returns. But tchalla can never be white or any other race. However, Norman Osborne is literally just a rich guy and somthin of a scientist-- nothing that forces him to be a white guy only. Same with Peter Parker too...nothing about his char forces him to only be a white guy. JS Those who are offended by this, makes one wonder if its truly JUST because its not "comic" accurate or does it go beyond that to the often subconscious racial bias...? If race truly doesnt matter, then whats the problem here???
@@BUDOKAIultimate3 don't make up arbitrary separations between the situations buddy. Race either matters or it doesn't and I don't care about "the story".
@tabkg5802 I'm not making up nothing. Theres a CLEAR difference when a person's race is central to their story...that goes without saying. If you don't care about the story, then we have nothing to discuss. Go somewhere.
Nothing wrong with a little race or gender swapping, as long as it works and isn't against core elements of the character. It's also funny how DeMayo intentionally leaves out non-villain and characters who weren't changed black, like several of the Eternals, Ned, Namor, Moon Knight, Werewolf By Night, Porcupine, Flash Thompson, and so on.
Lol. Comic book kids are a piece of work. You speak about the characters as if they were real people whom fictional stories are being made about. When they are really pure creations of fiction forever being retconned, and whatever you think is true of them - is almost certainly altered from an earlier version. Case in point.... Harry Osborn is originally the son of Norman Osborn. Marvel comics later made them Black. That was fine with the audience. So now - you - think of Osborn as having always been Black. Same with Magneto being Jewish. Many think he was always Jewish. There is - no - original - race - canon - for FICTIONAL characters - to which - the audience is entitled. This is what the cry bully incels can't cope with, and why they are so upset at being called out.
Finally someone's saying something about it. I get that a fiction character doesn't just have to be white when a new version of a movie or animated show comes out but it's just blatant more then ever to push the whole reduce the whiteness in media. Yes different times now but dam why not just reboot or remake every movie or cartoon and change the skin and gender of every character including the main eye sore ones that are male and white right? 😅
Ok he should shut his predator A$$ up. He been doing weird crap. Don’t race swap every character duhhh!!! But characters that we haven’t seen before on screen are open to interpretation, that doe include casting someone of a different color. But don’t gender swap (I’m looking at you WB). Isn’t Kang from comics black? But we have Jeffery Wright as Gordon and he was awesome. He has a point but to a VERY short extent. But give the characters some personality. That helps and goes a long way
are you aware that they never do that to Black characters they never do it to Black characters they only do it till only white characters when you actually swap a character you take away its originality and that's why I said that's why I say if you want to come up with new villains or new characters then come up with new villains but stopping it's annoying
"Black characters they only do it till only white characters" Crybully incel much? Apocalypse was an African character but played by 'white' guy. Magneto is a Jewish character and a holocaust victim (itself a retcon, as is most of what is called canon) but played by non jewish German (!) actor!! Ok, go back to cry bully.
It’s not because they only want to do it with villains it’s because they need diversity and friends and villains are easier to swap out because ppl will have less of a negative reaction. I really don’t think there’s anything nefarious going on. I think they have a quota to fill and they want to make the least amount of waves as possible.
Weird trend but a lot of race-swapped characters have red hair. Just something I’ve noticed.
Yeah I've seen it too but I think it's because they can't find actors or they try to push the charecter to be different because some of those are still red haired in comics

I'm actually happy that he called this out. As there is a long brewing pattern in the comic books, and films, of making films more inclusive by having Black or Asian - *villains.*
This is because the same audiences that happily accept a black Lex Luthor or High Evolutionary or Electro - will wet their boy pants, if you have Black Super Man, or Adam Warlock.
Wish they would just stick to how the characters are portrayed in the comics
It's lazy and the design is beyond stupid
Crazy how this has been public knowledge for three years, and now people are suddenly upset about it. Back when it was first announced, everyone seemed fine with it, but as soon as the trailer dropped, the usual anti-woke UA-camrs started making their videos, and now it’s a whole thing.
"Everyone seemed fine with it" this either shows that you live in an echochamber and also that amount of people who gained common sense increased. This however doesn't actually change that race swapping was and always will be re7@rd3d

Damn I just realized all the villains changed in race are black 😯
You just noticed this? Really.
@ not trying to be a douche but yeah you read my comment
Just stop race swapping, the hypocrisy and the goal post moving on this topic is insane. Support original characters and the studios will stop recycling the same characters over and over and changing their look.
_Support original characters_
This is bs argument sence there is no 'original' character [even the concept of many of these characters predates all comics - comic books are not the bible].
He needs to stop being so butt hurt and move on , coming from a guy who want to make everyone gay in a show
It makes fans happy to see things adapted accurately.
It's called race grifting.

Valkyrie is such an awesome character. Heimdall is very honorable and noble.
Hated by the Incels. Their are sites that specifically hate the film Endgame - because Thor gave up the thrown to Valkyrie.
I know how to solve all of this. Make black panther white in the mcu. I bet it stops after that!
I don't come to a marvel show to watch a random nobody who for some reason bears a name of a known character, I do it to see them as they are in the original story
2) If it doesn't matter than stay silent and don't change it. YOU bunch are the people who push this so take accountability for your actions

Another ginger bites the dust whoo!
FAX.
Looking the part is an important part of acting.

eh, race-swapping is usually fine & inconsequential when it comes to secondary, tertiary, etc characters but when it is done to a titular character it requires an enormous amount of consideration. really though it all just depends on the story that is being told. i do have a bit of a visceral reaction to any change being made to any beloved character but then i think about it for like 2 seconds & i'm like, "oh wait, they actually change all sorts of things all the time that i don't even notice, why tf am i even noticing this? especially when it has zero impact on the story..."
People having meltdown of fiction characters 😂
damned if you do, damned if you don’t!

What about Wonder man, Hamdall, Valkyrie, and MJ.

JS

He’s right, finally someone spoke up about it
are you aware that they never do that to Black characters they never do it to Black characters they only do it till only white characters when you actually swap a character you take away its originality and that's why I said that's why I say if you want to come up with new villains or new characters then come up with new villains but stopping it's annoying
"Black characters they only do it till only white characters"
Crybully incel much?
Apocalypse was an African character but played by 'white' guy.
Magneto is a Jewish character and a holocaust victim (itself a retcon, as is most of what is called canon) but played by non jewish German (!) actor!!
Ok, go back to cry bully.
Did anyone got outraged when they race swapped Jim Gordon in matt reeves batman.
Not outraged, but I dont see Jim when he is on screen. At all. He is a great actor, but hes not Jim.

Tbf, Osborn been appropriating black culture for decades!! We see them waves on your head, Norman! You not slick! 🤣🤣
Are you braindead?
Exactly
It’s not because they only want to do it with villains it’s because they need diversity and friends and villains are easier to swap out because ppl will have less of a negative reaction. I really don’t think there’s anything nefarious going on. I think they have a quota to fill and they want to make the least amount of waves as possible.
