  • I went to pick up some firewood at the local tree service company's woodyard and when I got back to the woodyard, a box elder (aka Manitoba maple) tree had fallen over into the yard so I grabbed my Stihl chainsaw and cut and removed the branches. After that, I cut and split the wood that I brought in, which was linden (aka basswood), pine, silver maple, black walnut and mulberry. I alos cut a couple of the large diameter rounds of red oak for smoker wood. They were perfect for firewood, but I need to restock my oak inventory.

I should've prepped her for the intensity of the skirmish. She got a little scared of the flopping and splashing

Your tree service seems to be a little low at the moment. My guys just set up a bin about the same size.

Nice! Well I'm guilty of keeping the pile down 🤣
Only two loads (walnut and birch) have been picked up from the tree cutters' job sites, otherwise, the last dozen loads have come from the yard. Gee, I wonder why they're not getting as much business as before 🙃

Nice! Its a good source of cheap or free wood. I had a customer buy some one time, he got 4 cords delivered from lake Huron Goderich to Barrie for 375 about 7 years ago. But he said it burned too fast.
