    This is one of those planets I kinda wish they'd revisited once they got ships. It'd really stick it to them for the SGC to come back in a few years in a 304, beam these guys up, then dump them on their own prison planet.

    Some of the best episodes of _Stargate SG-1_ are those with a high degree of mystery/ambiguity.

    • @keithtorgersen9664
      @keithtorgersen9664 Рік тому +4

      One of the most profound cases of this is “Foothold”. For having a high degree of mystery, the episode left a kind of legacy for the rest of the series.

    Amazing how early season stargate was littered with empires and stand alone stories and then later on almost completely abandoned this style of storytelling in favor of a form of arc storytelling. I think the show lost a bit when it did this. This era produced Linea, the strange plant like people, people being duplicated in Cold Lazarus and then others like Torment of Tantalus.

      It would have been really cool for the Tau'ri to return to some of these worlds. By the end of the series they'd have overtaken most of them technologically so the relationship would be completely different. Assuming that the world itself hadn't changed a lot in the meantime as well, having had their own interactions with the other factions in the galaxy just like the Tau'ri did.

      Because once you change direction like that especially after the show went on it would had to have made a change especially finally really dealing damage to the Goauld like season 5 through 8 it really reached that point.

      It's really a shame because small strong civilizations like this are how we could see something like that one criminal syndicate government actually existing despite the might of Anubis & other major system lords

      To be fair TV in general moved from episodic to a longer form story telling around the late 90s early 2000's as shows like The Sopranos in 2000, The Wire in 2002 and Six Feet Under in 2001 got super popular and writers and networks everywhere started chasing that form of TV also. I agree though, I miss it. Its even harder to find these days.

    I kinda want to see the Taur'i return to this world, this time with the full might of Homeworld Command and a fleet of Daedalus-class warships.
    "Our law is immutable."
    "General Landry to USAF General George Hammond, fire Asgard Beam Cannons..."

    Shocking how the Tauri defeated the Goauld, Replicators, Ori, Genius, Wraith and so many others and basically ruled the Milky Way, Pegasus, Ori and other galaxies.... all with like inside of 500 humans and 15 years. Not to mention met the Ancients, Nox, Asgard and some Tauri themselves ascended and came back, time traveled and destroyed Solar systems, built inter Galaxy travel ships, could teleport people, connected and traveled to parallel universes and realities....
    Insane to even believe.

      By the time SGU rolles around I would estimate at least thousands of people involved. each BC304 took around 200 crew according to the wiki, add to that around 30 SG teams numbering between 4 and I think 12 individuals, some of those teams accompanied by teams of scientists, add to that the alpha site which is a mini SGC off-world and a few other bases similar in scale to Icarus and the whole Atlantis expedition and we arrive at closer to 4000 people actively off world or in the SGC, add to that everyone in training, involved in R&D on Earth and we have at least 5k people directly involved. We also see some families being introduced to the knowledge in SGU so I think there are so many people in the know that it would be close to becoming impossible to keeping it hidden
