In other animes, the characters who go on their “first missions” are usually not that terrified about it. It’s like they’ve been doing it for a long time. So seeing the fact that the characters in CSM have panic attacks, anxiety, etc. is really nice and adds more realism to the situation.
Granted in their first real mission as Team 7, Naruto and Sakura were clearly terrified against the Demon Mist Brothers who clearly went in for the kill. Probably not as much as Kobeni, but Naruto was shook and couldn't move a sitting duck, Sakura atleast moved in to protect Tazuna

Especially in a situation when one of them put the entire cast in a fucking infinitely repeating hotel floor with no means of escape. Denji Is technically almost immortal so him seeing kobeni with a knife 🔪 was basically just going nothing but a scratch on him. Once you realize it, Denji is actually somewhat the most forgiving character on the show.
Denji knows how some parents are trash and had to survive some of the worst treatment in the world. Heck the Yakuza got off lightly in chapter 1. Also, Denji is one of the most compelling characters I have seen in a while, he was a kid that got nothing, no love no hope and find small things worth so much more because of that. His inability to socialize properly and how awkward he is with females would be cringe in another MC, here is sad and can be endearing. Love Denji, may he find happiness.
