All New YT Jeffsy: First Impressions

- I've been on my 2017 YT Jeffsy since December of that year, but when YT announced the all-new Jeffsy, I started thinking about an update! When they put it on sale for Black Friday, I jumped on it, even though I knew I wouldn't be able to ride it much until late spring.
I did get a chance to ride for a week down in Phoenix, so I wanted to share my first impressions! This is the Core 3 spec. I didn't want electric shifting. Cables have always been fine with me, and I've learned how to dial in the shifting well. I don't want a ride ruined because I forgot to charge my shifter batteries! In my opinion, the average rider does not need anything more fancy than what this spec provides. And as far as weight goes, the Core 3 is actually lighter than the Core 4. Only the Core 5 is lighter.
I'm pretty excited for the upcoming MTB season on this bike! Looking to travel and ride even more this year, and get back out to some bike parks! This will certainly be a better bike park bike with the 65-degree head tube angle.
Let me know if you have any questions about this bike!
BTW, I'm not sponsored by YT and did not receive any discount on this bike, other than the 15% off they had for Black Friday.

New to the mtb world. Just ordered my first bike. Jeffsy core 2. Also in AZ!
Excellent choice!
Great video. I just ordered the core 3. So excited to try it out
Sweet! You're gonna love it!
It looks awesome for sure!
You thinking of ordering one?
gotta say the jeffsy 2024 is a beast of a bike and it really reminds me of my Capra as well. Definitely a good Arizona bike. Was a blast on RMR
Yes sir, I'm loving it!
I've owned many fancy bikes but honestly my favorite of the past 5 years has been my direct sales bike, a Nukeproof. I do wish YT sold frames.
I do, too!
Hell yeah, more park time!!!!
Big Sky for sure!
@@huntstyle oh yea
I had a 2018, 2022, and just got the 2024 (Core 4). It's the best one yet!!
Nice, you've had every one!
2020 Jeffsy owner. Well, my Jeffsy is mean. It broke my shoulder, the son of a gun!
Ouch! Time to dump her for a new one, haha!
I've never even heard of this brand, good looking ride though. I'd like to try German MTB engineering sometime.
Direct-to-consumer brand, so it's a great value. Same price for one of the major brands would only get entry level components.
How would you say this stacks up to the transition scout? The jeffsy no longer comes in 27.5 wheels, but would you say it lost the playfulness compared to the previous models?
I really like the feel of 27.5 bot going to lie, but the jeffsy is on sale currently. 😅
I haven't ridden a Scout, so I can't say. I'm a 29er guy myself. Compared to my old Jeffsy it is less flickable with that longer wheelbase. But like I said, once I got used to it, it wasn't really much of a difference.
Looking at this and izzo core 1's so hard to decide, like the izzo as for what i ride should be better. But for tge spec i want tge jeffsey seems better especially the 150 mm dropper vs 125 on izzo
Yeah, I'd say two different applications. If you ride flatter XC trails, the Izzo will definitely be better. As for the dropper, I put the PNW from my old Jeffsy onto the new one, because I didn't like the Postman dropper (which is really made by SDG). PNW's are pretty affordable, and you could always sell the Postman to recuperate some of the cost, so it wouldn't be a very expensive upgrade.
Do you ever notice heel drag on the chain stay? Heard this issue mentioned in a couple other reviews.
As in their heels are hitting the chain stay? I haven't had that happen.
I think that's often more a shoe issue than the bike. A lot of modern shoes are chunky and it is easier to find the right shoe than worry about the bike's stays. Or get a slightly longer spindle pedal.
Hello, how tall are you and what size did you get?
5'9" size Medium. They have a chart on their website.
I think Cube Stereo One55 is much better. YT is overpriced compared to Cube.
Huh?! YT is less for comparable specs, I just looked. $2k less on the top of the line spec right now. YT's have been "on sale" all year.
@@huntstyle You can buy one55 SLX for 3000€. Fox Elite suspension, Shimano XT and carbon frame.
