Thank you for this great video. It wound up convincing me to get a 1436 for my first boat to replace the kayak so I can bring the little ones along at times as well. I will be setting it up very similar. However, I already installed some Millinium Marine B100 seats... on a swivel... on sliding rails. I can now be uber comfy all day... and pop spare seats on and off... and slide the seats from the middle to the sides as needed to keep the balance right. I got the motor for free... and the hull for $400. Starting the overhaul now. Sold the kayak and got a new aluminum trailer. I can't wait!!! Time for the shakedown run soon.
David’s got a cool rig. Those little sponsons will make all the difference on a Jon boat for shallow water. Essentially turns it into a key slot transom, definitely keeps the motor and back end from squatting so much. 👍
I have a 1446 and it can get shallow enough without the float pods! Def gonna continue modifying into a little skiff. Great platform for 2 people and not crazy expensive
Go small and tow kayaks or paddleboards! You could lay across bow, strap to sides (like wakeboards) or just tow... In Robert Fields’ Los Buzos videos I swear that they take the kayaks out with Panga “motherships”.
Such a sweet skiff...he should teach people what he did and how he did it. I would pay 💰💯 That bird was a white ibis. Usually seen in larger groups but fairly common!
If you’re looking for FAMILY friendly but still light and nimble, get super skinny and are some of the more reasonably priced hulls around, look ANKONA skiffs! You’d be surprised what you get for your money, they have several models, I had been looking into a Shadow Cast, but with Ole JOE doing crazy crap, I’m on hold for several months!

Great video NIck! I really like the b-roll of the boat. You do some awesome editing.
Cool little boat! I have a 16’ x 50” tunnel Alumacraft. Runs scary shallow and gets places where most boats can not go.

Great video! Broll was very nice touch. Please don’t get rid of your Hobie. You are the reason I got one.
Love your set up on boat
My man welded sponsons on the boat!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Get one dude !
David’s rig is badass 👍🏽👍🏽
Need a net onboard brotha 😂 love the boat layout! 15:56 15:57
You're in Texas. That's a buzzard, not a vulture and definitely not a Condor lol. Awesome video. Cool mods on the Jon Skiff
Love the video and platform concept!

Cool set up, I really like it
Nice David! Nice!
What pods are those if you dont mind me asking? Trying to fims some small enough for my 1436. No problems turning the motor all the way?
Tuning in from Pensacola 🔥 Good stuff Nick !
Only issue with aluminum boats is that they have hull slap; in the Tampa Bay flats , it’s so hard to not spook fish with a Jon boat.
Mine has a v bow and tunnel. No slap.
Sweet ride!
where where yall fishing ? your buddy mentioned its a great louisiana slot?
That dude cheeked up
Lol, that camera mic looks like a big Emu head popping up. Killer vid.
Thanks for sharing your video
Sweet platform
What y’all using as a push pole

Ankonas look nice. Unfortunately 18 months to get one.
Where did yall launch at ?
Cool video Nick,
What push pole was that
I want to do this so bad !! Going to try to
Aluminum tunnel hull is the smart/best way to get shallow.
wríñg
Get it RX small stable platform .
Mark may want to get David's specs on his Jon boat before he buys another mini skiff.
also Lowes makes a 1652 that is great
wow, fishing in a boat in 4 inches of water! That's the same as a kayak.
What HP motor is on this?
Dolphins get shallow & they LOVE Red fish..
Check out a piranha raso.
Is it stable
Good vid hope you find something that fits you and your family
That small Red is a year old, they grow3/4” a month.
A flat bottom boats can go in 1-2 ft of water that’s why they are better boats that’s my opinion
wribg
Condor…lol…
Look at a hog island skiff
Poc!!!!
I hate seeing dolphins while I'm fishing. Dolphins eating what I'm trying to catch.
check out Hacov boats youtube channel on the RDBST I have a model similar to that in a 1653 and i love it
The first fish is a red it's not a trout
Good video
Horrible name for the video
awesome video! watched him build it up on Instagram
Still a jon boat
Did he add those sponsons to his boat or did they come on it from the factory??
How big is the transom? Motor a short shaft, 15"?
