As a Catholic convert and former Jehovah's Witness, this video is very well done. Praise be to God, and thank you Trent Horn and Catholic Answers for this much needed video. God keep blessing you all.
What a stupid thing to do, instead of being part of the "Great Crowd" of Armageddon survivors you have chosen to oppose Jehovah AND Jesus. That will put you on the wide road to destruction so you must have a death wish.
My wife was a Catholic but she never believed it was the true religion she saw the absolute hypocrisy of it and left quich sharp when she had the veil of false religious doctrine removed by studying with JW's she said it was the best thing she ever did. She now free thank goodness.
I was baptised Anglican, Church of England. Was baptised again at seventeen as a JW. That lasted five years. Now, I’m Anglican again. I attend an Episcopal Church in the US. Sometimes, I listen to Catholic Answers Live on UA-cam, 6 pm EST.
As a former JW, the answer is NO. In fact, at the time I was a JW, they'd get offended if you called them Christians. NVM, at that time Jesus was thought to be the earthly form of Michael the Archangel. That also may have changed since their religion seems to change every 10 years or so by the process they call "new light".
I agree with everything except them saying they are not Christians and that would offend them. I was a lifelong JW, ministerial servant and full time pioneer. As JWs we said we were the only real Christians. We did say we weren’t part of Christendom though. Glad I escaped the cult! But even now if I ask any JW if they are Christian they will immediately say yes and furthermore they are the only Christians.
@darthmcgee2216 their marketing must've changed at some point then. At my KH, they reinforced that we weren't considered Christians. I'm glad you made it out also. The only real believer left in my family is my mother.
I recently met a guy who was a former jehovah witness, the problem is he is now agnostic and absolutely disbelieve any form of religion whatsoever, I wish I could help him see the beauty of Catholicism and convert, but I lack knowledge on his past religion and his view of Christianity is all over the place, please help me help him May God bless you
@WeaponofChoice-hx2hn for now, this is what I planned to do I love apologetics but I sometimes think testifying Christ rather then defending Christ can also work, I will absolutely learn about his former religion and Catholic answers to that, but as you say I will also testify Christ daily to him and pray, thank you very much
There are literally 100's of names in the bible which carry the thought of god is this or god is that but this in itself doesn't prove that Jesus was god it's just a name.
Yehovah YHVH-JHVH in English, it's Jehovah, As the language is read right to left, the letter sequence is actually HVHY, and mean this pictographically: H = ה = hey = behold/reveal/breath V = י = yod = arm/hand/work/deed/worship H = ה = hey = behold/reveal/breath Y = ו = vav = nail/secure/add/and When read pictographically, the word YHVH means, “Behold the hand, behold the nail.” Contemporary English Version John 20:25 So they told him, "We have seen the Lord!" But Thomas said, "First, I must see the nail scars in his hands and touch them with my finger. I must put my hand where the spear went into his side. I won't believe unless I do this!" Jesus' name means Jehovah is salvation. Emmanuel means Jehovah is with us.
Almighty God had no beginning. The Lukewarm Church Revelation 3:14 “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: In Revelation 3:14, Jesus is referred to as, "the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God's creation." The whole passage reads as "And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God".

This brings me back-- I still have faded little marks in my bible from high school, marking the verses defending what you said-- that was almost 50 years ago, wow!
as I see it... years ago a young man get reads the KJB. He notices a word in the bible Jehovah. He does not understand why churches don't use the word Jehovah. He then thinks he found some truth that everyone else missed. He does not understand that it was a man made word by a Jesuit. He then concludes that everyone is wrong, and now takes this error in misinterpreting the rest of the bible. He then finds others who are ignorant of this truth, creates his own religion, and preaches against the other religions. And people claim that bible alone theology is the correct way of understanding faith....lol
Are you talking about Charles Taze Russell? He was a con artist business man snake that borrowed beliefs from the SDA movement. As a teenager he didn't like the doctrine of hell.
A Gog of Magog Genocide! The syllables Ha-lle-lu-yah or “Halleluyah” were in use by the Muskogee and Algonquin-speaking nations of the east and southeast coast before colonists. There are two independent recorded instances where the word Halleluyah was in use in Native towns that had never encountered Europeans. Thomas Thorowgood(1) in the 1650s recorded Halleluyah and other syllables similar to the Tetragrammaton in use by the Powhatan. One hundred years later, James Adair(2) made the same observations while living for 40 years in Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Creek towns in the 1700s. Thorowgood had encountered with the Native Tetragrammaton variations. Vocables are a combination of syllables that are themselves compositions of the same core group of syllables; Yah, Weh, Yo, Heh, Wah, Ha, Ho, Hoi. It is interesting however that the names for God between these two geographically separated groups are similar. Yoweh sounds like a variation of Yahweh. Yo-he-wah sounds like a variation of Je-ho-vah. And Muskogee Yah, is analogous to the use of Yah in Hebrew. All three of those vocable sets are names for God in Muskogee and Tsalagi, just as their counterparts in Hebrew are names for God. As for the origin of the word Halleluyah in Native towns beyond the frontier in Adair’s life, in places that had never encountered a European, is history lost to genocide and time.
Jesus being sent by God does not exclude him as being God. The NWT bible corrupts the translation of John 1:1 to support this erroneous teaching that Jesus is just a god and not the true God. If there is only one true God, the Jesus is a false god. Faith in Jesus means faith that He is our God, our Lord, our Saviour. There is no other name where we may find salvation.

@@watchthisspace2099 John 1:1 does not say Christ is God, only that he had the Word. If you actually read the following chapters of John, Christ does not call himself God having the Word, but rather that for a Christian to be, they too, are also required to have that Word, to be "one in God". The Word can implicitly been seen as a power of God, in a similar concept to the Holy Spirit, it is transient on people. Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my *word*, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Joh 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. Joh 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my *word*, then are ye my disciples indeed; Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Joh 8:33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Joh 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. Joh 8:35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. Joh 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. Joh 8:37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my *word* hath no place in you. Joh 8:38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. Joh 8:39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. Joh 8:40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. Joh 8:41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. Joh 8:42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: *for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me*. Joh 8:43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my *word*. Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. Joh 8:45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. Joh 8:46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? Joh 8:47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. Joh 10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. Joh 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? Joh 10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the *word* of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; Joh 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? Joh 10:37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. Joh 10:38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. I Am the True Vine Joh 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Joh 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Joh 15:3 Now ye are clean through the *word* which I have spoken unto you. Joh 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. Joh 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. Joh 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Joh 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. Joh 15:9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. Joh 15:11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. Joh 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Joh 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Joh 15:25 But this cometh to pass, that the *word* might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause. Joh 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: Joh 15:27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning. Joh 17:6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy *word*. Joh 17:7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. Joh 17:8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. Joh 17:9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. Joh 17:10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. Joh 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. Joh 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. Joh 17:13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. Joh 17:14 I have given them thy *word*; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Joh 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. Joh 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Joh 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy *word* is truth. Joh 17:18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. Joh 17:19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Joh 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their *word*; Joh 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. Joh 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: Joh 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. The Word is mentioned elsewhere in the Bible, but it does not denote a person being God.
@@BubbaRichoux [Jesus] is I Am Who Am The Word Made Flesh before the world was created. Jesus is God." At John 7:16, Jesus said: "What I teach is not my own teaching, but it comes from God, who sent me." So, if Jesus is God, why did God lie and say that his message was *NOT* his when it really _was_ his? Luke 6:12 says: "At that time Jesus went up a hill to pray and spent the whole night there praying to God." So, if Jesus is God, who did God pray to all night? To himself? Luke 3:21, 22 says: "While he was praying, heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit came down upon him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, “You are my own dear Son. I am pleased with you.” So, if Jesus is God, whose voice was heard from heaven saying that he was God's Father?
@@cbooth151 Jesus said the Father and I are one. Jesus is God has been taught and defended by the Church for 2000 years. The Catholic Church gave us the Bible as we know it today, in 397 AD. These are historical truths.
Here are some quotes from the early church that may be helpful to JW’s coming across this video… Ignatius (50-107AD) "By the will of the Father and of Jesus Christ our God…Once you took on new life through the blood of God...For our God, Jesus the Christ, was conceived by Mary...The ancient Kingdom was abolished when God appeared in human form to bring the newness of eternal life... glorify Jesus Christ, the God who made you so wise." Polycarp (69-155AD) "To all those under heaven, who will yet believe in our Lord and God Jesus Christ and in his Father, who raised him from the dead." Justin Martyr (100-165AD) "Permit me first to recount the prophecies, which I wish to do in order to prove that Christ is called both God and Lord of hosts...Deserving to be worshiped as God and as Christ." Irenaeus of Lyons (130-202AD) "He is himself in his own right, beyond all men whoever lived, God, and Lord, and King Eternal, and the Incarnate Word...Christ Jesus is our Lord, and God, and Savior, and King...Christ Himself, therefore, together with the Father, is the God of the living." -Clement of Alexandria (150-215AD) "This very Word has now appeared as man, He alone being both, both God and man...The Divine Word, He that is truly most manifest Deity, He that is made equal to the Lord of the universe." Tertullian (150-225AD) "Christ is also God. This Christ is Spirit of Spirit and God of God...He is made a second in manner of existence-in position, not in nature...In His birth, God and man united." Melito of Sardis (Died 180AD) "He that bore up the earth was born up on a tree-God put to death!..Because they slew God, who hung naked on the tree." Hippolytus of Rome (170-235AD) "The Logos is God, being the substance of God...God the Word came down from heaven...He now, coming forth into the world, was manifested as God in a body, coming forth too as a perfect man." Origen (185-254AD) "Jesus Christ became a man, and was incarnate although God, and while made a man remained the God which He was."
@@MapleBoarder78They have a whole article about quote mining the early Church Fathers in favor of their demonic doctrines and they reinterpret quotes, it's sad
And JW's are not really interested in non-biblical quotes...as all you did was to quote NON scriptural people, most of which were around during the great apostasy which the apostle Paul warned us about, when Rome got involved and corrupted the church with pagan dogma, and set up the "church of Rome" which then became the Catholic church !
Jesus told Peter , Matthew 16: 13 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. So here is where it all started it is in this time where the true church was born not 2000 years later
As a JW myself, I'd like to point out that I appreciate Trent's humble way of pointing out what he understands, and how it differs from what he has come to firmly believe. I also found the beliefs/practices of JWs being properly represented here, without resorting to ad hominem attacks. I'm not going to touch on the Trinity here, and why JWs hold that the Trinity doctrine is heresy from a biblical standpoint. I wanted to touch on Trent's misunderstanding of JW's baptism ritual not being biblical. Jesus unmistakably said: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20) JW's "go therefore" from home to home to "make disciples of all nations", "teaching them to observe all that [Jesus] has commanded us". Part of the teaching is to use the Bible (any bible translation can be used) to find what the role of the Father, the Son and the holy spirit is. I quote from the NWT Study notes: "'in the name of': The Greek term for “name” (oʹno·ma) can refer to more than a personal name. In this context, it involves recognition of authority and position of the Father and the Son as well as the role of the holy spirit. Such recognition results in a new relationship with God.-Compare study note on Mt 10:41. 'the Father . . . the Son . . . the holy spirit': Recognition of the Father, Jehovah God, is natural, since he is our Creator and Life-Giver. (Ps 36:7, 9; Re 4:11) However, the Bible also shows that no human can gain salvation without recognizing the role of the Son in God’s purpose. (Joh 14:6; Ac 4:12) It is also vital to recognize the role of God’s holy spirit because, among other things, God uses his active force to give life (Job 33:4), to inspire his message to humans (2Pe 1:21), and to empower them to do his will (Ro 15:19). Although some believe that this enumeration supports the Trinity doctrine, the Bible never indicates that the three are equal in eternity, power, and position. That they are mentioned together in the same verse does not prove that they share divinity, eternity, and equality.-Mr 13:32; Col 1:15; 1Ti 5:21." Recognizing the Father, the Son, and the holy spirit in their respective roles in God's purpose and the believer's salvation is a pre-requisite for dedication and baptism to God from JWs point of view. Jesus didn't give a baptism formula to reiterate when conducting baptism in Matthew 28:19. Nowhere in the Bible is "in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" reformulated when baptisms were conducted. Recognizing and having faith in the roles and persons behind those roles was what was important. That's one of the reasons why JWs don't do infant baptisms.
@@VoiceofTruth-iv8pq true, but the JW’s selectively insert words that don’t exist in the original texts. For example: John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The JW’s “bible” says: “In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.” Selectively inserting or removing words changes the entire context of the verse and is meant to reinforce some guy’s personal theology. The JW’s are a cult that uses threats of shunning and restrictions on literature/ education to keep its members compliant.
Proskuneo is a Greek word that means "to worship" and is commonly used in the New Testament of the Bible. It can also mean "to kiss", as in kissing the hand of a superior.
It would appear that those who profess and die in the beliefs of the Jehovah's Witnesses are afforded the hope of salvation through invincible ignorance by the Catholic Church in Chapter II, On the People of God, Paragraph 16 of Lumen Gentium, Vatican Council II's Dogmatic Constitution on the Church, solemnly promulgated by Pope Paul VI on Nov. 21, 1964, that includes the following passages: "Finally, those who have not yet received the Gospel are related in various ways to the people of God ... But the plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator ... Nor is God far distant from those who in shadows and images seek the unknown God, for it is He who gives to all men life and breath and all things, (Cf. Acts 17:25-28) and as Saviour wills that all men be saved. (Cf. 1 Tim. 2:4) Those also can attain to salvation who through no fault of their own do not know the Gospel of Christ or His Church, yet sincerely seek God and moved by grace strive by their deeds to do His will as it is known to them through the dictates of conscience. (Mk. 4:14)"
In John 17:3, Jesus prayed to the Father calling him "the only true God." Philippians 2:6 says that Jesus “did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped” (ESV). In John 10:36 Jesus calls himself God’s Son, not God. In the Bible God is identified by the name YHWH, which is usually translated as Jehovah in English. "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth." (Psalm 83:18 KJV)
@ You are probably thinking of Hebrews 1:8. There are two ways that Hebrews 1:8 can be translated. Instead of “Thy throne, O God,” as it says in the King James Version, some Bible versions translate it as "God is your throne" or "Thy throne given of God" meaning that God is the source of the Messiah's throne. The New Revised Standard Version has a footnote for Hebrews 1:8 that says, "Or [God is your throne].” The Good News Translation has the following footnote: "[or] God is your kingdom". The next verse, Hebrews 1:9, says, "God, your God, has set you above your companions." This shows that Jesus himself has a God. Keep in mind that Hebrews 1:8 is quoting Psalm 45:6. This Psalm originally applied to a human king, but is also a prophecy about the Messiah. Obviously, the Psalmist did not think that a human king would be God.
Thou shalt not have any other Gods beside me. Then God goes on to say something like: "Don't worship any other Gods, for I am a jealous God." Therefore, what I get out of this is: majority of Christians are worshiping The Son, not God the Father; THEREFORE making God jealous. Please don't slaughter me with replies. I'm reading the bible but I'm still at the Old Testament. We can discuss our views while maintaining respect for one another as the Scripture says: "Love thy neighbor as thyself".
hey dendroslime1155, I actually agree with you. I think the most concerning part of worshipping the Son AS GOD is that if He is not God, then those worshipping Him as God are breaking the first commandment pretty badly. It is kind of a silly command to "not have any other Gods beside me" if there are no other Gods at all. And it is a pretty silly thing to call God "the Most High God" if there are no other Gods over which He is "the most high" one. His being the most high implies there are some who are not as high. But the Bible shows that God the Father is THE God, the Most High God, the one true God over all. From the years I have spent looking into this, the small handful of times in the NT where Jesus is obliquely kinda referred to as theos (god in the Greek), is in this lesser "less high" sense. And the other handful of passages people point to....they are not reading what the words actually say. Even Jesus tells the Jews in John 8:54 "...The One who glorifies Me is My Father, of whom you say ‘He is our God.’" The God of the Jews, the God of the Old Testament is THE FATHER, and this is straight outta Jesus' mouth! The OT God is not the Trinity, it's not God the Son; rather, it's the Father! That is who we should be worshipping AS God.
@@maxspringer01 On paragraph two, there really are other gods out there such as money; it's referred somewhere in the new testament I think where "you cannot serve two masters". Money can be a "god" or "master" because we can see people actually serving and worshipping money. I found an interesting youtuber which I forgot the channel name but he's a muslim and way smarter than me. His main point was "if Jesus is God The Father, why doesn't he know when the Revelation happens as said in (I forgot the book's chapter and verse but the verse goes something like 'as for the time, none but the Father knows')". Where in the world did these people come up with things like "The Infinite made finite" et cetera when the bible literally said no such thing. They must have misunderstood Jesus' phrase "I and the Father are one" when that technically means "one at heart" because Jesus steps was ALWAYS in alignment with The Father's will and here we can say "Jesus serves the Most High God". Had he served money and hookers, he would be serving "The pathetic excuse for a god". I am confident to say "I, dendro slime, am one at heart with The Father, not always, but only sometimes." In those 'sometimes' moment, I am one at heart with The Father. As I like to say but never had the opportunity: "Religion and Faith are two different things." Which part in the bible did it ever mentioned "Jesus Christ was christian", "... he was Jew", "I, Jesus Christ, am a Christian therefore you all must convert into Christians" or something along those lines? All he never shut up about was "do The Father's will", "... obey", "... surrender to His will". He never said "Jew is the one true religion" or catholic or christian. In some cases, people of different religion divides and ridicules other different religion. Had they followed The Father's will, then no division would happen because of Father's commandment: "Love others as thy neighbor" or "Treat others as how you treat yourself". I got really sidetracked there and only noticed up to this point and I am making good statements I'd rather not erase hahaha. Anyways, other gods do exist. A god is something or someone we serve, like a king. If we surrender to The Father's will, that makes us his slaves, if we surrender to money, we are slaves to it, controlled by it, our actions are for the sole pursuit of money whereas doing the will of The Father puts our actions in pursuit of The Father's acknowledgement. If we surrender to clitorises, then our actions are driven for the sole pursuit of said clitorises. Right, surrender means to stop resisting. So if we stop resisting worldly temptations like clitorises, then it dominates our mind, controls it, enslaves it along with our actions, if we surrender to The Father, he dominates our mind and our actions would be in alignment of His will and be at one heart with The Father. One heart doesn't happen on two conflicting souls, they are divided.
I would really like to be explained : how does the Catholic Church relate to the baptism of Seventh-day Adventists? They do not believe that the three Hypostases are a single being, and also believe that the Father has a body.
Since they don’t have the same understanding of the Trinity, the baptisms are sometimes considered “doubtful”, but not necessarily invalid. They key thing is that a person entering the Catholic Church must have the same belief that the Church does.
John 14-14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. Jesus promised to respond to prayer if it is done in His name. The apostles were not only to pray in the “name” of Christ but also to Him.❤🙏✝️
Mark 10 17. As Jesus started on His way, a man ran up and knelt before Him. “Good Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 18. “Why do you call Me good?” Jesus replied. “No one is good except God alone.

Christianity is a monotheistic religion that believes in one God, but that God has three distinct persons, known as the Trinity. So to believe that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are God, one should believe in the Trinity. No other option. The Trinity is a central doctrine in the Christian faith. Some groups and individuals don't believe in the Trinity like Unitarians, Judaism, Oneness Pentecostals, Jehovah witness, Jewish and Muslim theological circles etc.
I was interested in how a Christian was defined. Apparently, it is based on acceptance of the Nicene Creed. However, no information was provided on when this formula was introduced and what becomes of those who were Christians in earlier times before the Nicene creed was introduced. The Evangelists proclaimed Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God. In the context of the first century, this seems to be a proclamation that Jesus is the promied messiah, who is one other than God to Jews. Likewise, being the Son of God may also maake him one other than God. No scriptural evidence was provided to support the claim that God exists as three persons.
In Matthew 22:32 Jesus claims, "I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. He is not the God of the dead, but of the living". In the Old Testament, Jehovah is frequently referred to as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.❤✝️🙏
The Godhead and Godhood Christians do love their spiritual jargon, especially when it is has the epic overtones of the King James Version. Jargon is only useful when we properly know what it means. One such theological word found in and popularised by the KJV is “godhead.” The problem I have with it is that it is used synonymously for the Holy Trinity. As far scripture is concerned it isn’t. The word “godhead” appears only three times in the KJV at Acts 17:29, Romans 1:20 and Colossians 2:9. [1]The word is from Middle English and means the same as godhood, that is, the state of being god. The -head suffix is the same as -hood which we still use in modern English in words like fatherhood, the state of being a father. [2]Three different Koine Greek words, theion, theiotēs, and theotēs, in order of their appearance in the KJV, were translated as “godhead”. Modern translations of the Bible do not use godhead but tend to use words like deity, the divine nature, or divine being depending on the context. The Greeks used such words to talk about god without referring to any specific one in particular. This particularly makes sense in Acts 17 at the Areopagus where Paul was addressing a Greek audience and presenting his arguments on the true nature of God. Even in somewhat formal English today we refer to God in sort of an impersonal manner by calling him the Deity. So where did this association with the Trinity come from? On account of the continued popularity of the KJV, the word “godhead” continues to stay in currency. The word was actually introduced into English translations by John Wycliffe, the great English Bible translator and Reformer. [3]As early as the 12th century B.B. Warfield remarks that it was used as a technical term used to refer to the ousia or the substance of God in the doctrine of the Holy Trinity. Since this predated Wycliffe it was probably an influence on why in his translation of the New Testament the term. It was chosen because of its Trinitarian connotations. The KJV was heavily influenced by Wycliffe’s why is why the godhead was probably used in the translation. Its popularity continued in later documents like Thirty-Nine articles of the Church of England and the Westminster confession. Even though godhead is used to refer to Trinitarian doctrine, in the KJV it is used to translate words that have nothing to do with later theological developments. Even the basic meaning of the word is not Trinitarian and just means being divine. I fully recognise the meaning of a word is determined by how it is used and the word has for a long time assumed that technical theological meaning. All I am saying is whenever we pick up the KJV and read the word, we should not immediately assume it is a reference to the Trinity. [1]
Traditional Catholics have good scriptual reasons for believing the way they do. However JWs can appeal to liberal, modernist catholic sources to justify some of their beliefs. Alfred Firmin Loisy probably didnt believe Jesus was God Almighty either.
to whom are you speaking? If someone is not Catholic, who's fault is it? Using another person's belief as a platform is wrong. It's like Christ teaching on sitting at the head of the table... "Who is my neighbor?".
Are Catholics Christians? is the main question. I’d like to know how is catholic religion different in doctrine of inclusion of works or sometimes referred to as “participation” being part of the equation in salvation along with faith and grace. My big issue with Jehovah's Witnesses is that they are boring. I mean really boring. Any organization that doesn't want you to be exposed to ideas outside of their own worldview is dull dull dull. Catholicism is A LOT more fun!
Of course it's a lot more fun because anything goes, I'd love to be a Catholic. My wife used to be a Catholic, she smoked, swore, drank to excess, and was a fornicating, pagan holiday celebrating idolater like most of the other folk at her church. She got zero spiritual food and understanding of god's word she was spiritually dead. She said she learned more about the bible in a week studying with the witnesses than she did all her life as a Catholic. Our neighbour is a Catholic he has a picture of the pope in his window facing out so that everyone can see, he's also a raging alcoholic that regularly throws his used vodka bottles about and rides his scooter into ditches under the influence.

@@uvynelantiquina8198 A Christian means a follower of Christ. If a non-Catholic Christian sincerely believes that Jesus Christ is Lord and savior, as well as holding true to the core foundation of Christian faith summarized in the apostolic faith, who are you to deny that said person isn't a Christian?
"... cannot be a Christian without a valid baptism." I have no specific issue with baptism; I am not learned on Christian theology; I am aware that people reference specific Biblical passages for defending the "necessity" of baptism* (my edit: adding "baptism") for the Christian faith. Tell me about the thief on the cross. When was he baptized? When did he do "good works prepared for him" after he accepted Jesus? Not all of us (if any) will be as the thief on the cross who entered heaven with Jesus, but I am constantly baffled that man tells man, "You can't be Christian unless X, Y, and Z," when those conditions may not be present in the teachings of Jesus - the one whom we follow and so call ourselves Christian.
Jesus did not promise the thief heaven. He said he would be with him in paradise. The resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous (Acts 24:15) will be to paradise earth (Psalms 37:11), with Jesus ruling as king. The man was surely in the unrighteous category, but Jesus comforted him, assuring him that he would be back. They love to harp on Witnesses but we can actually answer Bible questions. Hope this helps answer your question.
Imagine them existing in the first 5 centuries and not being labeled as a heretic group by the early church.😂 The variations of protestants have muddied the waters up so much that this question is actually worth asking today. Another question is... whats the mininum standard to be considered christian? What about mormons, amish, 7th day adventists, or even Messianic Jews? The fringes of christianity are super interesting to me.... like who decides the edges? As catholics or other ancient churches its a little easier to say who is a heretic in the classic sense of the word. The big question is, can protestants call them heretics? Typically they use the trinity as their line in the sand but many many protestants dont accept the trinity but do accept sola scriptura. Looking at you oneness pentacostals! I just think if im a protestant what right do i have to call anyone a heretic if not by direct quote from scripture? I think its because deep down every protestant knows.. the other guy guy could just reject his interpretation.
Here’s my reply to someone else’s comment that you may find interesting. The topic was similar : I would say that it isn’t necessarily understood to be the belief in a triune God that makes the Christian, because Oneness Pentecostals and other modalists exist and are understood to be Christians. The biggest link between Christians is the idea that Jesus is in some form literally God. Since there has to be boundaries for any idea to remain coherent, it doesn’t seem arbitrary to make that a cutting off point, especially when the vast majority of those that would call themselves Christians agree that that is the right understanding of the religion. In fact there are other things that Christians are rigorous about, which is essentially where Catholics can begin to derive the ideas of mortal sin, excommunications, and anathemas. Protestant Christians typically don’t have the same theology and ecclesiology but may remove someone (lay person or pastor) from the church, say that an individual must never have been saved for going against some doctrine, kick out churches from being under a member group for wrong doctrine.

The holy spirit is the Father. Isa 11:1A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. 2 The SPIRIT OF THE LORD (possessive form) will rest on him-. The baptism of Jesus. Isa 42:“Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I WILL PUT MY SPIRIT ON HIM, and he will bring justice to the nations. Let go to baptism of Jesus. Mat 3:16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the SPIRIT OF GOD (the same in Isaiah) descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Luke 3:22 and the HOLY SPIRIT descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” Were they saying two different spirt? Of course not. Let Jesus tell us who is in him. John 14:10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the FATHER IS IN ME? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the FATHER LIVING IN ME who is doing his work. John 10:30 I and the Father are one. What happened to the third person that you are saying? If it's God is it not worth mentioning? And more. Notice Paul, he never mentioned the holy spirit in his greetings through out his Epistles. Why? Because the holy spirit is the Father in fullness or measured (Col 1:19). Holy spirit is the mind of God in which God ways of teaching us. The holy spirit of God is the one talking and doing in all of the scripture, Prophets or otherwise (Numbers 29:11, John12:49-50, 2 Pet 1:21). Notice holy spirit is quantifiable? Because it is the mind of God and he gives according to his purpose. John 15:2 “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you FROM THE FATHER-the Spirit of truth WHO GOES OUT FROM THE FATHER he will testify about me. Do you understand English? God has no origin or that it belongs to someone. God self exist, no beginning nor end, indivisible and immovable. Holy spirit moves around and divisible (measured). For it is the mind of God, wherever the holy spirit is God is there. That is why God can be in hell and not in hell at the same time. He is in hell by his omnipresence but spiritually absent meaning not mindful. God is omnipresent but He only fellowship with believers and that is done through the holy spirit presence in them. He is everywhere but not with the unbelievers for his holy spirit is absent in them.

@@wamisangi2801 Erh, I don't see it! The passage informs us that three "men" (enosh) appeared to Abraham (18:2; cf. 18:16,22). Since God is not a man (Numbers 23:19), this may also be the reason that some Trinitarians conveniently prefer to identify these three men as three "visitors." The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, was not three men. The account does not say Abraham saw Yahweh/God and two men. It says three men appeared to him. Hence, we should not suppose that two of the visitors belonged to one category of being but the third visitor belonged to another category. All three visitors are categorized in the same manner: "men". It is also normal in the Scriptures to identify heavenly angels as "men." It was not normal to describe God as a man. The three persons/hypostases of Trinitarian doctrine are not angels. It is therefore quite impossible to claim these three men visiting Abraham are the three persons of Trinity doctrine. Moreover, this claim has absurd implications. It would also mean the 3rd person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, ate beef prepared by Abraham and Sarah, and they had indeed seen God when Scripture declares no one ever has seen, or can see, the invisible God (see 1 Timothy 6:16).
As a former Roman Catholic (now a mere Christian, attending an ACNA Anglican parish) I can vouch that nearly all protestant Christians agree with the catholic (universal) belief in the Holy Trinity. @@johnpaul-mp7zc The RCC never taught me the Biblical means of salvation. As a RC, I believed that being a RC in good standing and a recipient of RC Sacraments was the necessary instrumentality through which I might be eligible to receive eternal life. Even then, eternal life still hinged upon my "perfect contrition" for my sins and performance of acts of penance, as well as my ability to avoid dying with an unconfessed mortal sin (such as willfully missing Mass one holy day of obligation for example) on my conscience. And even after all that, I most likely would have an eon of suffering in Purgatory to look forward to before I were fully infused with righteousness. The RCC also failed to prepare me for an event that happened when I was 18 years old. Keep in mind that I was confirmed (maybe around 11 years old?) and my mother took me to catechism classes religiously. So I wasn't ignorant of Catholic doctrine. But when I was 18, I came to a full realization that God is real, I placed all my trust in Jesus for my salvation, and prayed to God simply to keep me safe & to fill me with His Spirit. I didn't expect to feel any different after praying; I'd prayed plenty of times to God before this; but at that moment *I KNEW* that God had moved into me. I felt *clean* on the inside like never before, and I could "hear" God communicating to me in thought-pictures that came so rapidly I could barely keep up. I couldn't tell anyone about this for months afterward. I thought I was some sort of freak. I thought, why would the Almighty Creator lower Himself to talk to a lowly sinner like me? The Holy Spirit immediately began showing me His will that I find a different church that would teach me more thoroughly from the Bible. But as a cradle Catholic, with all my relatives being RC, and knowing the RC doctrine that I'd be damned if I left the RCC, *for 8 years I resisted the Holy Spirit.* But eventually God brought my wife and me across the path of some of her relatives who'd left the RCC for a protestant church, and it was a 'divine appointment' 6 hours from our home (4 hours from theirs). They talked about God as if He were their best friend, and they obviously talked *to* God matter-of-factly (no fancy pre-printed prayers) all the time. This was just what we needed to hear. That was decades ago. Now I've learned (in protestant churches and on Christian tv programs, and through reading the Bible repeatedly) how to be led by the Spirit of God (something the RCC never taught me), and He has led me to an ACNA Anglican parish. But I find my identity in Jesus Christ alone, for my faith is not in a church but in Jesus.
@@johnpaul-mp7zc The church was founded by Jesus Christ, upon Jesus Christ and the truth of who He is: God the Son and Savior from sin. The denominational sign over the doorway matters little; what matters is, does the pastor or priest teach the true Gospel of Jesus Christ? That Gospel is as follows: Rom 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one." Mark 10:18 "And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God." James 2:10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." Rom 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Rom 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. Observe that every human being is rotten to the core and has earned the death penalty (eternal separation from God). Our own attempts at righteousness, done in our own strength, are like filthy rags in God's eyes (Isaiah 64:6 says, "we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.") But God loves us so much, He sent Jesus to take our penalty for us. The Father imputed our sins to the Son, so He could impute His righteousness to every one who would trust in the completed atoning work of Christ on the cross. We are justified (made right with God) freely by His grace (undeserved favor): Rom 3:24-26 "Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus." See also the 4th Chapter of Romans, which says that God imputes (accounts) righteousness to sinners through the instrumentality of faith. Eph 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Look, you believe in the doctrine of Original Sin, don't you? The doctrine says that the sin of Adam is imputed to every human infant descended from Adam, even though that infant has not committed any sin on his own. Jesus is called the "last Adam" in 1 Cor. 15:45, for even though Jesus was perfectly righteous and without sin, the Father (in His mercy) imputed your sins and mine to Jesus' account as He hung on the cross. Jesus thus atoned for our sins and redeemed us from them. *This is the divine exchange: because our sins were imputed to Christ, Christ's righteousness can be imputed to us, if we believe.* Even though we don't deserve it, we cannot earn it, and we will never be righteous in and of ourselves, God will tally HIS righteousness to our own account and will view us *as if* we were sinless. Romans 4:3-- Abraham had righteousness counted (imputed) to him before he was circumcised. Rom 4:5 "But to him that worketh not, but *believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted* (imputed) for righteousness." Rom 4:24-25 "But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed," -if we are baptized- ... oops, it says, "if we *believe* on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification."

Nicene creed is not true and made up by corrupt priest. Listen to what the bible said. 1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, THE MAN Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. The holy spirit is the Father himself. Let's begin: Remember the story of Joseph and the Pharaoh> Gen 41:39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you. 40 You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders. ONLY WITH RESPECT TO THE THRONE WILL I BE GREATER THAN YOU.” 41 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I HEREBY PUT YOU IN CHARGE of the whole land of Egypt.” 42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his finger and put it on Joseph’s finger. He dressed him in robes of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. 43 He had him ride in a chariot as his second-in-command,[b] and people shouted before him, “Make way[c]!” Thus he put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt. 44 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, but without your word no one will lift hand or foot in all Egypt.” 45 Pharaoh gave Joseph the name Zaphenath-Paneah and gave him Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On,[d] to be his wife. And Joseph went throughout the land of Egypt. Jesus had a similar story. 1 Cor 15:24 Then, the end will come, when HE HAND THE KINGDOM TO GOD THE FATHER after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25 FOR HE MUST REIGN UNTIL he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For he “has put everything under his feet.”[c] Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28 When he has done this, then the SON HIMSELF WILL BE MADE SUBJECT to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all. Jesus is not a true God but only God by exaltation (appointment). Phil 2:9Therefore God EXALTED him to the highest place and GAVE HIM NAME THAT IS ABOVE EVERY NAMES 10 that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Jesus abideth in the word and he can ask anything and it will be given yet he did not and went on to obey the Father (Heb5:7-9)and die on the cross (Mat 26:39b). This was prophesy a long time before the cross, Dan 7:13“In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man,[a] coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 HE WAS GIVEN authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. And in Mat 28:18, John 17:1-5 same granted authority. Jesus is not a true God but by virtue of a decree (exaltation) by God. And Jesus reign will end when the last enemy of God, which is death has been defeated. You speaking agains the truth, I'll pray for you.
I believe that only the Father is God and that Jesus is God’s Son. 1 Corinthians 8:6 states, “For us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.” Only the Father is referred to as Almighty God in the Bible and he is identified by the name Jehovah. (Psalm 83:18) God is the one who raised Jesus from the dead, exalted him, and made him Lord (Acts 2:32-36), giving him all authority in heaven and on earth. (Matthew 28:18) When Jesus asked Peter in Matthew 16:15, “Who do you say I am?”, Peter correctly answered in verse 16: “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” There are no scriptures in the Bible that say that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all coequal, coeternal and all are of the same substance and that all three make up one God. Jesus cannot be coeternal with God because according to Psalm 90:2, God is “from everlasting to everlasting”, whereas Jesus is called “the firstborn of all creation” (Colossians 1:15) and “the beginning of the creation by God.” (Revelation 3:12)
In the Name of Jesus, every knee will bend. So what Name did Jesus say to make Disciples in. Did Jesus say in the Name of Jesus or In the Name of the Father. What is the Father's name! YHVH YEHOVAH JEHOVAH! Matthew 28:8 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Isaiah 45:23 By myself I have sworn; The word has gone out of my mouth in righteousness, And it will not return: To me every knee will bend, Every tongue will swear loyalty 24 And say, ‘Surely in Jehovah are true righteousness and strength. All those enraged against him will come before him in shame.
Seems that the comment has been truncated. BTW All will bend their knees to Jesus TO THE GLORY OF GOD. (Phil 2:9-11) This is a future action. Not anything to do with Jesus' command to make disciples. Disciples logically cannot be worshipers.

Let's see if I can comprehend this. People who belong to different churches believing anything they fancy, joining armies and killing each other are Christians? JWs who abide by 1 Corinthians 1:10 and who will not lift a hand against another human (Micah 4;3) and who are fulfilling Jesus' command at Matthew 24:14 are not Christians? Guess the term Christian doesn't mean what it did back in the first Century.
As a JW, we are Christians. Acts 11:26 says that the followers of Christ were by “divine providence” called Christians! Christians are disciples of followers, of Jesus Christ. As he said at John 8:31: “If you remain in my word, you are really my disciples.” Christians must obey Jesus’ teachings and they base their beliefs on the Bible! (Luke 24:27) And they must preach the good news of the Kingdom which is a command-It’s not an option for Christians. (Matthew 28:19,20) The New Catholic Encyclopedia says: “The doctrine of the Holy Trinity is not taught in the Old Testament.” It also admits: “The formulation ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century [hundreds of years after Jesus and his apostles were on earth]. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective.” The Bible gives the name of Jehovah God and Jesus Christ, yet nowhere does it name the holy spirit. God will “pour out” his holy spirit on those who ask for it. So is it really a person since your can’t pour a person on anyone can you?
Being a Christian doesn’t begin and end at following the teachings of Jesus. Even the atheists and the spiritual but not religious do that. This New Catholic Encyclopedia “quote” is actually a quote from the Watchtower propaganda magazine that the so called “Jehovahs Witnesses” put out. Philippians 2:17 - Paul speaks of himself as poured out as a libation. It’s called a figure of speech, the Bible is literally full of them.
1.The Trinity was not taught in the OT because the fullness of time had not yet been revealed by God, 2."divine providence?" Followers of Christ Preached the good news in Acts, which was precisely jesus rose from the dead and so can you if you believe in him. You are correct on the establishment of the word "Trinity" was not used on till 300 + . There was different thoughts about Jesus. the three main thoughts were, Jesus was fully God, not human at at. jesus was fully human and not God at all, Some had jesus as half man and half God.. The correct description is Jesus as the complete being of human nature and the fullness of Deity and neither competes with the other. Your thoughts about the early Church Father is way wrong. I don't know how long you have been a JW, but in 1990 they put out a full watchtower magazine titled, " Should You believe in the Trinity. In this magazine they wrote all kinds of deliberate misquotes from various early church fathers, the catholic Encyclopedia and other sources claiming No trinity no deity in Jesus etc. Here is my advise Check the sources directly yourself. The Watchtower is so weak they step on the catholic church ( often falsely) to elevate themselves. Their Sunday so called worship is really about practicing their sales pitches.
Christians worship the One and Only God, who is the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.) He is ONE God, in three divine Persons, and his name is YHWH or Yahweh. The second Person of this Trinity (the Son) came to earth and took on humanity.❤❤❤
This sounds like a cultist view from Trinitarians that one must believe in their trinitarianism to be Christian. The divinity of Jesus is clearly debatable if you only use the Bible as the only authority on Christianity. These creeds that were later made is the same as the Pharisees making up their own rules and traditions to follow. The fact is the only reason why the Trinitarian believe is so wide spread in Christianity today is because it was enforced by the sword.
Also JW do pray to Jesus. On their website they state one must pray though Jesus to pray to God. From their website: “We must pray to God in Jesus’ name because this is the only way God has approved for us to approach Him. Jesus said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.””
Jehovahs witness baptize in the name o f the single savior Jesus christ. It was christ who died for remission of sins. Not a trinity. The scripture promoting baptism by the Father son and holy spirit has been proven to be an alteration done at the time of the Nicenian creed and the Catholic Church over 300 years after christ death. ake Trinity Verse BY DISCOVER THE TRUTH on MARCH 15, 2017 • ( 31 ) Kaleef K. Isn't that scripture till in the JW bible. Go therefore and baptize them in the name of father son and spirit? They haven't removed that yet... Have they?
JWs are God's last days' people. Promised at Isaiah 43:10. They have been raised to help people understand that God has a name and is unchanging. The addition of two others into the worship due only to Jehovah, has taken people on the road to destruction. Jesus' words will echo shortly to them. (Matthew 7:23) And then I will declare to them: ‘I NEVER KNEW YOU! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’ This is about a people who have believe false doctrines for a LONG TIME.
You haven't got your facts right, the JW'S never directly pray to Jehovah, they always pray through Jesus Christ. That's the proper heavenly order of giving a prayer.
What you will learn when research the bible. Jesus is not Jehovah. Jesus did not sit as God on the throne but his father. Like Pharo and Joseph Jesus ( lamb) at the right hand of God throne. They in heaven worship the one sitting on the throne. Jesus handing over rulership to his father at the end of the one thousand year reign of Jesus Christ. Check revelation.
if Catholics are not Christian why is it that ALL Christians receive their rule of faith, their Bible, from the Catholic faith… History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, not only did they not agree but their list of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time. So, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved it by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us, show us, who did?
@@therealong I would go never go so far as to claim that no Catholics are Christians. However, I have observed that when asked if they are Christians, Catholics will almost always reply, "I'm Catholic." There seems to be a mindset among Catholics that belonging to the Catholic Church is what makes them Christians, but in truth the only ones who are Christians are those who trust in Jesus Christ (not their Church) for their salvation. Don't just take my word for that. Consider Jesus' words: Joh 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in -the Catholic Church- him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Joh 3:18 "He that -is baptized into the Catholic Church- believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
Then you never had it properly to start with, because when you truly grasp your Catholic faith, you do not walk away from it. I don't know you, but I've already prayed for you, because God loves you. I'm praying that God moves you back home to be a Catholic revert. There's no substitute. The fullness of the Catholic faith.

@aservantofJEHOVAH7849 - right on! excellent post! I love the verse in John 8:54 where Jesus says straight out that the God of the Jews, the God of the Old Testament is THE FATHER!!!
@@misterauctor7353 yes. I have also read the Septuagint where Exodus 3:14 in the Greek shows that God is not claiming to be "ego eimi" but is claiming to be "ho on". God says "EGO EIMI HO ON.....tell them HO ON (not ego eimi) has sent me to you." The claimed connection between John 8:58 and Exodus 3:14 is as relates to the Greek "ego eimi", so we have to look at what the Greek says in both, not what the English translation says in both. ego eimi just means "I am" as it does in literally any language. If I say "I am Max", you do not respond "hello, I am!" Rather, you respond with what comes after "I am", which is "Max", and say "Hello, Max!" In the same way, when God says "Ego eimi ho on" in Exodus 3:14, we look at what comes AFTER ego eimi to see who He is. He is "ho on". And he repeats as such to Moses in the same verse. "You shall say to the sons of Israel that 'HO ON' has sent me to you." If Jesus said "ego eimi ho on" or even just "ho on", then there would be something to talk about, but He didn't. He just used one of the most common phrases around, "I am". Even Paul says later on "I AM WHAT I AM" in 1 Corinthians 15:10 and yet no one bats an eye saying that Paul is making a claim to be God.
@@misterauctor7353 No it doesn't. Actually look at the Greek words themselves. This information is readily available with a simple google search. ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ ὤν is "ego eimi ho on". God then says "tell them ὁ ὢν (ho on) has sent me to you."

H = ה = hey = behold/reveal/breath
Y = ו = vav = nail/secure/add/and
When read pictographically, the word YHVH means, “Behold the hand, behold the nail.”

He then thinks he found some truth that everyone else missed. He does not understand that it was a man made word by a Jesuit. He then concludes that everyone is wrong, and now takes this error in misinterpreting the rest of the bible.
Why call Jesus , Jesus? That was not his name.

Polycarp (69-155AD) "To all those under heaven, who will yet believe in our Lord and God Jesus Christ and in his Father, who raised him from the dead."
Justin Martyr (100-165AD) "Permit me first to recount the prophecies, which I wish to do in
order to prove that Christ is called both God and Lord of hosts...Deserving to be worshiped as God and as Christ."
Irenaeus of Lyons (130-202AD) "He is himself in his own right, beyond all men whoever lived, God, and Lord, and King Eternal, and the Incarnate Word...Christ Jesus is our Lord, and God, and Savior, and King...Christ Himself, therefore, together with the Father, is the God of the living."
-Clement of Alexandria (150-215AD) "This very Word has now appeared as man, He alone being both, both God and man...The Divine Word, He that is truly most manifest Deity, He that is made equal to the Lord of the universe."
Tertullian (150-225AD) "Christ is also God. This Christ is Spirit of Spirit and God of God...He is made a second in manner of existence-in position, not in nature...In His birth, God and man united."
Melito of Sardis (Died 180AD) "He that bore up the earth was born up on a tree-God put to death!..Because they slew God, who hung naked on the tree."
Hippolytus of Rome (170-235AD) "The Logos is God, being the substance of God...God the Word came down from heaven...He now, coming forth into the world, was manifested as God in a body, coming forth too as a perfect man."
Origen (185-254AD) "Jesus Christ became a man, and was incarnate although God, and while made a man remained the God which He was."

And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
JW's "go therefore" from home to home to "make disciples of all nations", "teaching them to observe all that [Jesus] has commanded us". Part of the teaching is to use the Bible (any bible translation can be used) to find what the role of the Father, the Son and the holy spirit is. I quote from the NWT Study notes:
"'in the name of': The Greek term for “name” (oʹno·ma) can refer to more than a personal name.
That they are mentioned together in the same verse does not prove that they share divinity, eternity, and equality.-Mr 13:32; Col 1:15; 1Ti 5:21."
Recognizing the Father, the Son, and the holy spirit in their respective roles in God's purpose and the believer's salvation is a pre-requisite for dedication and baptism to God from JWs point of view.

21, 1964, that includes the following passages:
"Finally, those who have not yet received the Gospel are related in various ways to the people of God ... (Mk. 4:14)"

As a matter of fact, JW has more in common with Islam than Christianity
Hard no. They reject Christ as God so they are NOT Christians.
@jollyrancher521 The Book of Hebrews, The Father calls Jesus the One True God. Your twisting of scripture shows your ignorance.
@jollyrancher521 I do not use the KJV. Douay-Rheims is far superior.
Thou shalt not have any other Gods beside me.
Then God goes on to say something like: "Don't worship any other Gods, for I am a jealous God."
Therefore, what I get out of this is: majority of Christians are worshiping The Son, not God the Father; THEREFORE making God jealous.
Even Jesus tells the Jews in John 8:54 "...The One who glorifies Me is My Father, of whom you say ‘He is our God.’"
The God of the Jews, the God of the Old Testament is THE FATHER, and this is straight outta Jesus' mouth!
As I like to say but never had the opportunity: "Religion and Faith are two different things."
Which part in the bible did it ever mentioned "Jesus Christ was christian", "... he was Jew", "I, Jesus Christ, am a Christian therefore you all must convert into Christians" or something along those lines?

The Godhead and Godhood
Christians do love their spiritual jargon, especially when it is has the epic overtones of the King James Version.

If a non-Catholic Christian sincerely believes that Jesus Christ is Lord and savior, as well as holding true to the core foundation of Christian faith summarized in the apostolic faith, who are you to deny that said person isn't a Christian?
"... cannot be a Christian without a valid baptism."
I have no specific issue with baptism; I am not learned on Christian theology; I am aware that people reference specific Biblical passages for defending the "necessity" of baptism* (my edit: adding "baptism") for the Christian faith.
They pray to Jehova through Jesus. That's logical. Their beliefs seems logical too
Just read the Bible. Compare/Contrast with other Bibles. Use translations and make your own decision.
The topic was similar :
I would say that it isn’t necessarily understood to be the belief in a triune God that makes the Christian, because Oneness Pentecostals and other modalists exist and are understood to be Christians.

@@eve3363 Heresy is defined by the Catholic Church as "the obstinate denial or obstinate doubt after the reception of baptism of some truth which is to be believed by divine and Catholic faith".[1] The term heresy connotes both the belief in itself, and the attitude towards said belief.[2]

Yes I was more curious if the Catholic Church affirms they worship the same god with an incorrect understanding just trying to understand it in the context that catholic dogma states muslims worship the same god as Catholics(not that they are saved or worshipping him correctly but that it is the same god in some sense)
Not necessarily. Catholics are fulfilled, Jews. We worship the same God but we as Catholics accept his divine human nature Jesus Christ who existed. Whether Jews accept Christ as the messiah or not doesn't mean we worship a different God. And by God I mean God the Father, YHWH (I Am).@@therealong

I'm not a Jw but I do think you are wrong about JW. JW teach the way of Jesus which is Love..
As a former Roman Catholic (now a mere Christian, attending an ACNA Anglican parish) I can vouch that nearly all protestant Christians agree with the catholic (universal) belief in the Holy Trinity. The list of scripture verses which show the Godhood of Jesus are numerous, and I am about to present many of them to a dissenter in this comment thread, so if you wish to know how to refute JWs from Holy Scripture, please check out my comment below. (Note, the JWs use a corrupt Bible version called "New World Translation" which changes the language of John 1 to fit their false theology, so quoting John 1 to a JW is, regrettably, not effective.)
Why did you leave the Roman Catholic church may i ask?
Are you aware that the church you now attending was founded by men ? The Roman Catholic church is the original church founded by Jesus himself. Jesus is the head and we are the body. One mediator one church. It is only through the apostolic succession can a true priest with the authority to make the offering of bread and wine to Jesus the high priest to have them transformed into the spiritual, divinity, flesh and blood of jesus to transform the receiver who also has to be catholic, + to mediate forgiveness of our sins by Jesus.
That Gospel is as follows:
Rom 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one."
Mark 10:18 "And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God."
James 2:10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."
Rom 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Rom 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Observe that every human being is rotten to the core and has earned the death penalty (eternal separation from God). Our own attempts at righteousness, done in our own strength, are like filthy rags in God's eyes (Isaiah 64:6 says, "we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.")
But God loves us so much, He sent Jesus to take our penalty for us. The Father imputed our sins to the Son, so He could impute His righteousness to every one who would trust in the completed atoning work of Christ on the cross. We are justified (made right with God) freely by His grace (undeserved favor):
Rom 3:24-26 "Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus." See also the 4th Chapter of Romans, which says that God imputes (accounts) righteousness to sinners through the instrumentality of faith.
Eph 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
Look, you believe in the doctrine of Original Sin, don't you?
Rom 4:5 "But to him that worketh not, but *believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted* (imputed) for righteousness."
Rom 4:24-25 "But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed," -if we are baptized- ... oops, it says, "if we *believe* on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification."

Phil 2:9Therefore God EXALTED him to the highest place and GAVE HIM NAME THAT IS ABOVE EVERY NAMES
10 that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
No and like Muslims DO NOT worship the same God.

Christians must obey Jesus’ teachings and they base their beliefs on the Bible! (Luke 24:27) And they must preach the good news of the Kingdom which is a command-It’s not an option for Christians. (Matthew 28:19,20)
The New Catholic Encyclopedia says: “The doctrine of the Holy Trinity is not taught in the Old Testament.” It also admits: “The formulation ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century [hundreds of years after Jesus and his apostles were on earth]. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective.”
The Bible gives the name of Jehovah God and Jesus Christ, yet nowhere does it name the holy spirit.
Try reading a different Bible
You shouldn't be here. I'm going to tell your kingdom hall elder that controls your freedom.
The hypocrisy! 😂😂
You said "As a JW, we are Christians", so I will ask you this,
Is Christ your "Mediator"??
Only true worshippers who worship YHWH is Jehovah's Witnesses
Christians worship the One and Only God, who is the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.) He is ONE God, in three divine Persons, and his name is YHWH or Yahweh. The second Person of this Trinity (the Son) came to earth and took on humanity.❤❤❤
@shortflims2165 Pentecostal aren't true worshippers
You can’t call out JW Baptism form while removing the Almighty’s name from worship 🤦🏼♂️
From their website:
“We must pray to God in Jesus’ name because this is the only way God has approved for us to approach Him. Jesus said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.””
No they aren’t. But neither is Roman Catholicism
That extends to Eastern Orthodox Christianity as well then.
God is (Jesus Christ) and Jesus Christ is(God) bye.
Jehovahs witness baptize in the name o f the single savior Jesus christ. It was christ who died for remission of sins. Not a trinity.
The scripture promoting baptism by the Father son and holy spirit has been proven to be an alteration done at the time of the
Nicenian creed and the Catholic Church over 300 years after christ death.

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) 1 Timothy 3: 16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Although the above verse reads as “God was manifest in flesh”, majority of trinitarian Bible translations, read it as: “He was manifest in flesh.” A lot of Scholars agree that the word “God” was not in the original text, but was added by later scribes. The earliest and best manuscripts does not have the word “God” in it but rather “He”, “who” or “which.” Furthermore, even modern (Trinitarian) Bible translations disagree with the KJV and few other translations, for putting the word “God” in 1 Timothy 3: 16. Let’s now show what the other Bible Translations put for 1 Timothy 3:16,
1. American Standard Version 1901
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness; HE who was manifested in the flesh.
2. Common English Bible
Without question, the mystery of godliness is great: HE was revealed as a human.
3. Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
Great beyond all question is the formerly hidden truth underlying our faith: HE was manifested physically and proved righteous spiritually
4. Douay-Rheims 1899
And evidently great is the mystery of godliness, WHICH was manifested in the flesh,
Isn't that scripture till in the JW bible.
Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’
This is about a people who have believe false doctrines for a LONG TIME.
"JWs are God's last days' people"
What's your best proof for this?
You haven't got your facts right, the JW'S never directly pray to Jehovah, they always pray through Jesus Christ. That's the proper heavenly order of giving a prayer.
A Christian is a follower of Christ no one follows him more than JW's.
Do you have proof? JWs don't follow Jesus.
What you will learn when research the bible.
Jesus is not Jehovah.
Jesus did not sit as God on the throne but his father.
Like Pharo and Joseph
Jesus ( lamb) at the right hand of God throne. They in heaven worship the one sitting on the throne. Jesus handing over rulership to his father at the end of the one thousand year reign of Jesus Christ.
Check revelation.
Well, to be honest, JWs are not Christians in the same way that Catholics are not. Think about that fun fact.
@CB-vt3mx
I don't think it's a "fun fact". So why don't you explain where you got that idea from?
if Catholics are not Christian why is it that ALL Christians receive their rule of faith, their Bible, from the Catholic faith…
History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, not only did they not agree but their list of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time. So, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved it by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us, show us, who did?
fun facr: what part of your body orifice did you pull that crap out of?
@@therealong I would go never go so far as to claim that no Catholics are Christians. However, I have observed that when asked if they are Christians, Catholics will almost always reply, "I'm Catholic." There seems to be a mindset among Catholics that belonging to the Catholic Church is what makes them Christians, but in truth the only ones who are Christians are those who trust in Jesus Christ (not their Church) for their salvation. Don't just take my word for that. Consider Jesus' words:
Joh 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in -the Catholic Church- him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Joh 3:18 "He that -is baptized into the Catholic Church- believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
I'm a proud ex-Catholic.
😅😅
We can choose truth or follow our own way as Adam did can't we?
Then you never had it properly to start with, because when you truly grasp your Catholic faith, you do not walk away from it. I don't know you, but I've already prayed for you, because God loves you. I'm praying that God moves you back home to be a Catholic revert. There's no substitute. The fullness of the Catholic faith.
Prides goes before the fall young man, think about it. That's not something of which to be proud. It points to a lack of understanding of your own faith and a prideful existence where your life is now in essence an ego drama.
Luke Ch.1:32NIV"He will be great and will be called the Son of the MOST HIGH. The LORD God will give him the throne of his father David,"
John Ch.10:29NIV"My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than ALL c ; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. "
The God and Father of Jesus christ is the MOST HIGH God and thus is co equal to no one.
John Ch.8:54NIV"Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me. "
According to Jesus his God and Father is the one and only God of Israel . By common consent the God and Father of Jesus is not triune. Therefore the one and only God of Israel is not triune.
John ch.20:17NIV"Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”"
The God and Father of Jesus is not triune by common consent . The God and Father of Jesus is also the God and Father of Jesus' disciples . Therefore the God and Father of Jesus' disciples is not triune.
Matthew Ch.24:36NIV"“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, f but ONLY the Father. "
ONLY the God and Father of Jesus Christ is omniscient thus only the God and Father of Jesus Christ is the MOST HIGH God.
Roman's Ch.1:9EHV"To be sure, (the)God, whom I serve with my spirit by proclaiming the gospel of his Son, is my witness to how constantly I make mention of you. In all my prayers, "
Roman's Ch.3:30NIV"since there is only ONE(Grk.eis) God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. "
Paul was an actual monotheist and thus rendered exclusive sacred service to one most high God. Whom he clearly identifies as the God and Father of Jesus Christ.
Malachi Ch.2:10NIV"Do we not all have one Father b ? Did not one God create us? Why do we profane the covenant of our ancestors by being unfaithful to one another?"
The God and Father of Jesus Christ is the only true God.
@aservantofJEHOVAH7849 - right on! excellent post! I love the verse in John 8:54 where Jesus says straight out that the God of the Jews, the God of the Old Testament is THE FATHER!!!
@@maxspringer01 Have you read John 8:58?
@@misterauctor7353 yes. I have also read the Septuagint where Exodus 3:14 in the Greek shows that God is not claiming to be "ego eimi" but is claiming to be "ho on". God says "EGO EIMI HO ON.....tell them HO ON (not ego eimi) has sent me to you."
The claimed connection between John 8:58 and Exodus 3:14 is as relates to the Greek "ego eimi", so we have to look at what the Greek says in both, not what the English translation says in both.
ego eimi just means "I am" as it does in literally any language. If I say "I am Max", you do not respond "hello, I am!" Rather, you respond with what comes after "I am", which is "Max", and say "Hello, Max!"
In the same way, when God says "Ego eimi ho on" in Exodus 3:14, we look at what comes AFTER ego eimi to see who He is. He is "ho on". And he repeats as such to Moses in the same verse. "You shall say to the sons of Israel that 'HO ON' has sent me to you."
If Jesus said "ego eimi ho on" or even just "ho on", then there would be something to talk about, but He didn't. He just used one of the most common phrases around, "I am". Even Paul says later on "I AM WHAT I AM" in 1 Corinthians 15:10 and yet no one bats an eye saying that Paul is making a claim to be God.
@@maxspringer01 The Greek (LXX) has God claiming to be ego eimi.
