I love to hear history. I don’t know anything about laurel & hardy and only found out that my dad loved them while going through his obituary. I miss him a lot. I’m a gen z kid watching staticky black n white films for crying out loud but my dad loved it and I want to love what he loved 😊
@@RadiantRiv Keep watching…Oliver Hardy would always stare not the camera when his partner Stan Laurel would do something odd. There timing on doing simple things were very unique. Then we have Abbott & Costello…another great comedy team that came on later. Let us not ever forget the great Marx Brothers. Groucho Marks had great lines and all of the brothers were accomplished musicians.
he was the first film actor to do that. it went over so well with audiences it became his trademark. others attempted over the yrs to follow suit but the only successful attempt i know of was Alan Hale on Gilligans island. 🎥👍 cheers.
Me and my sister would watch These guys at the movie theater..always laughing so much our sides hurt laughing Think some people said they peed their pants these guys were so funny
It's amazing when I read these positive comments about this film. This was considered by many movie historians and critics as one of their weaker movies. You'd never know it by the comments you see here!
The radio voice was provided by English gag man and bit player Frank Terry. In fact, in this film, it is Terry who is seen onscreen as Hardy's butler. He also plays a safe cracker in a later L&H short, The Midnight Patrol.
His assuring Ollie that "properity's just around the corner"- which was a joke, as President Herbert Hoover said the same thing during the worst of the Great Depression- didn't help, either.
This is comedy at its very best! Love Laurel and Hardy!🥰
Three Stooges Shorts Are Better
You're both right! Yeah, I said it.
Yeah, I love them!
Comedy hysterical
I love them too and Stan is my ex bf!
My favorite part was when the jigsaw puzzle party broke out into a riot! 😂
That is the plot formula for each movie. Laurel does something, Hardy gets blamed, and the fighting expands and expands into a melee,

Hardy at peak form with his facial expressions! Masterful
I was introduced to Laurel & Hardy back in 1956. I was 6 years old then. I am now 73 and still get a kick out of the boys.

At least the riot was confined to the mansion and not the street😁
To be fair the cop was the one who instigated it by abusing his power of authority.
13:11 Charlie Hall attempting to sound American always gave him an interesting line delivery.
One of my dad's favorites
I Have This Short on Vol.7 VHS and Beta From 1981 Release.
In the span of twenty minutes, Ollie had it all and then lost everything.
I swear this is so funny.
Always funny 😂

Oliver: You know what a magnet is, don't you?
Stan: Sure! A thing that eats cheese!

Stan is confusing “magnate” with “maggot”!
When I was a kid, these guys were the BEST! Today, I can hardly sit through one of these episodes now that I am an adult, they are just so stupid! Lol
Epic!!
Hysterical comedy

Anyone know who did the voice on the radio? Sure sounded like Billy Jones.
It sure does sound Billy Jones. Sounded like his "Twisting the dials" voice.
Love your channel, great music.

It was Frank Terry- who doubled as Ollie's butler, "Hives".
Frank Terry, who also played the butler
One of the greatest entertainment ever from Laurel & Hardy. They are the best performances ever from Charles Bosselman
I dont care if he is mr dill pickle
Cop Play by Three Stooges Cast Member JAMES C. MORTON
technically this is 1933 if you read the discription.
Just for context, at this time, jigsaw puzzles were a big fad, which explains all the characters' fascination with solving the puzzle.
I cant get off same as duke de cambridge.
🤣🤣🤣🤩🤩🤩
"A thing that eats cheese." What is he referring to?
He thought Oliver said "maggot" instead of "magnet".
Next Week Can You Do TOWED IN THE HOLE 1932*OUR WIFE 1931? Thanks.
Hahahahaha
Oliver is the much better of the two.

Jigsaw puzzles became a fad in the United States during the Great Depression of the 1930s.

And toast is beginning of time and Larry scott is real and sleeping in bed and my asshole is good...
I could be stan laurel and how I laugh people or women are dirty.
Sorry folks.
This one I found just a frustrating downer.
Laurel and his stupid puzzle.
His assuring Ollie that "properity's just around the corner"- which was a joke, as President Herbert Hoover said the same thing during the worst of the Great Depression- didn't help, either.
That's kind of a running trend in L&H films. At the end of the day all they have is each other's friendship.
