20:00 See, this is why I like Gopher's roleplay: because the moment I read "Rewards: Alohomora" I was "yep, that's the next quest, that's where we should go, right now, forget classes". But Gopher took time to read all the other quests, and think things through, and didn't let the fact that there is a caged kneazle waiting for him sway him into learning the unlocking charm RIGHT NOW :P
Just a quick tip, for when you where fighting that guardian at the end of the first trial. Many Bosses use powers to attack you with. The Guardian had them orbs getting thrown at you. If you MATCH the color of the orb (the power) they are charging up with one of your spell colors, it would counter the power back at them. (IE: blow up in their face) Yellow orb, Yellow Spell, Red orb, Red Spell, Purple orb, Purple spell, etc. Use your spell color that corresponds to the attack color, to counter the attack back to them. The color matching also helps the those NPC's pesky shields. If they have a purple shield around them use a purple spell to destroy their shield.
Amusing thing is that he got it once by accident, but didn't notice that it actually exploded in the boss' face I think (unsurprisingly, with all the particle effects on screen). That said, I think he already figured it out by now since he's much further in the game (these videos IIRC are usually recorded at least a week earlier). Thankfully, the game's quite forgiving with playstyle, and brute force is definitely easily possible.
@@MuraCasardis Yeah, he commented on one of the very first videos that he had already figured out that he doesn't need to use accio to get the moonstone. And so far he hasn't figured it out in the videos, so I'm guessing we are at least a month behind the recording date.
@@Aeglos88 I remember him saying that he knew it but also said that he uses accio for rp reasons, but yes these are recorded so far in advance as I remember seeing him respond to someone in the room of requirement episode that he had recorded till episode 60 iirc
Glad you reached the part with the Beast class and Poppy! She's so adorable and I love the quests involving her. And as always, you know how to end the episodes with the best punch lines.
I am terrible at Action games as a rule - skip most of them usually - , but thankfully Hogwarts, Skyrim, Mass Effect, etc allow for pausing if needed. But these battles, and the mini-games especially motivated me to lower the difficulty to Story mode, and proceed well. The other option for me was to add mods to battle on a higher challenge setting. But Story mode is easier to activate, and as it is a single player title, only have to prove anything to myself.
So i'm definitely not the only one who didn't get the principle of color matching - which is crucial for the entire game. Yellow spheres over enemies CAN and MUST be blasted with ANY yellow spell, purple spheres with any purple spell, red spheres with any red spells. Red sphere over your own head means you can not and must not try to block that incoming spell. Red sphere over your head is the only situation where you are expected by the game developer to use movement for evasion. Those fights get extremely easier as soon as you honor that color game. A little tricky is the circumstance that the color of the sphere in the hand of the pensive guardian is not always perfectly deducible thanks to the masses of glares and particle effects around it. I believe the developer thought that this color game would be SO OBVIOUS and easy that nobody would miss it. But the contrary manifested in reality.
Not crucial. But it helps figuring it out. You'll *need* it (way) later on.. You can break shield with potions, and transfiguration (y'know, turning enemies into exploding barrels) Its a weird choice the devs did. They keep filling your head with repeated "hints" about nonsense but not about the actual gameplay mechanics.
The way Gopher talks to the animals is so cute 😂😊 I love the Poppy questline, I found a mate for Highwing late in the game and they had a baby hippogriff 😭 I named the big, black male Shadowfeather and the hatchling I named Ashbeak, trying to stick with Poppy's naming convention.
When I got my first Hippogriff in the Room of Requirement, I named him Talonclaw, a suitable name I thought. A shame though caught Hippogriffs can't be used for flight, I very much love the look of the brown feathered one I have.
Huh, wasn't expecting you to kill the boss that way! For me it was extremely easy, but then I did pick up on the mechanic immediately. Well, you got the numbers puzzles almost right away, I got the color mechanic right away. We all have different connections we "just get" it seems. I *do* hope you know the mechanic now though, it's vital for later in the game.
Yes, you can buy the troll bogey to finish the task. I did it on my 2nd playthrough out of curiosity and yes, it felt like cheating so I went and found the nearest troll lair and did it the right way. There's an icon on the map for lairs, he hovered over one for dugbogs. I loved the reaction to Beast Class, waiting for the reaction to having a personal petting zoo later in the game.
you can cheese most of the "assignments", except the one where you actually have to fight something. The potions and plants, use them anywhere and it counts. Even inside hogwarts.
Jesus F crist guy chill, all the comments are "you should have done this and thag and never do this" he still kick his ass, so who cares, we are here to enjoy the ride, to see what other did different, not to backseat gaming, we are not 12yo kids.
@@stephenriggs8177 The game's very forgiving so you can mostly brute force through most mechanics in the game without worries (even more if you have Unforgivable Curses). XD The final battle's the exception of course.
It always brings an ironic smile to my face watching these characters running around the Highlands of Scotland in summer, no screaming running and waving of hands to dispel the ubiquitous clouds of midges that plague Scotland from May to October. This is Scotland asI wish it was.
Wow first time go on the act 1 boss. Congrats. Probably the hardest boss in the game. Took me 2 or 3 tries to get the timings down (although I think I had fewer potions to start with).
Also Looking forward to this series getting more episodes per week, it's a long game, and even more so with you roleplaying it, as you aforementioned in your update video on the subject, so seeing the series progress a bit quicker wouldn't go amiss.
Am I the only one who started checking around to see if I had an electrical fault somewhere, near the end of this video? I was paranoid I had a plug half-out somewhere.
I feel like I saw somewhere in the comments on a previous video that Gopher isn't much of a cat person really. Was I imagining that? Or is that true and this is just another example of Gopher roleplay masterclass.
What do you call a wizard who walks everywhere on bare feet, has poor bone density and really bad breath? A super-calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.
I like the word "sniggering": it makes USians very uncomfortable :P That potion you took? Lasted about 5 seconds into the fight. All of those potions last basically a sneeze, they are very useful I'm sure.
Don't get me wrong, Beast class is an excellent choice, but I was just confused when you didn't immediatly rushed to Gladwin Moon's invitation considering the announced reward.
Oh I forgot how much I liked Poppy. Her, Sebastien and Ominis were really well done. Kinda wished they were involved in the main story, their stories were just better. Also based on how Poppy was trying to flirt with the player I wonder if they had originally planned romances. You also get that sense with Sebastien.
Guardians is the worst! most boring fight in the game. Pointless, except maybe for picking up on the coloured "balls" mechanics in that one fight. Meh, Ancient Magic does the trick for those big guys :)
That ending line was great. Also Poppy has got to be my favorite companion

Poppy's quests were the best. I can't wait until Gopher finally talks to Mr. Moon and gets two of his biggest curiosities satisfied

I'm so glad you finally met Poppy! She's has one of my favorite quest in the whole game.
Love your reactions to the beasts, the brushing and feeding. And the mention of pasties :)
Gopher reacts just like I would in magic cat class.
Ohh Gopher is gonna love all the beasts, I'm so excited!

Wow

You have to hit the orbs with control or force depending on the colour, gold or purple matching the colour.

I never slept much in this game but do you sleep with your wand in your hand?
Not to mention all the clothes...
You just sit down on the floor and pass out. Must be a wizard thing.

Omg I can not believe he didn't notice alohamora as the rewards he's wanted that from before he even knew what it was for

I just went back and liked every video in this series! Need to get the algorithym going so Phineas’ story can continue! :)
Terrifying but adorable!! ❤
I like how the game let you take 2 hits to the face at 1hp and not die ^^
good one thank you so much

I'm curious to see if all the idle player-character lines in these last few videos will've prompted Gopher to download a mod that gets rid of it.
cant see why though. The chatter from main char is minimal. Screw the Floo lady though omg. Silencio, best mod on nexus.
If there were a love aspect in the game, Poppy Sweeting would be it..
Why does the Pensieve Guardian roar?
