EPIC Poison Bottle Haul on a "Ghost Highway" Dig!

Epic poison antique bottle dig this time! We did some exploring by starting out on the abandoned “ghost” highway (a leg of 1-95) that Sean “Marbles” MacDonald wanted to show me, and then ended up trekking a few miles through and then past Blue Hills Reservation's borders until we found a way to cross the Neponset River (outside the reservation- via a downed tree- not easy!). We eventually would up in an old surface swamp dump right next to a neighborhood and an old playground. There was evidence that someone had been digging here before, but it was pretty well hidden and probably hadn’t been hit in sometime. There was also evidence of modern litter as well- hikers? After we dug we made sure to fill these holes back in and recover everything with leaves. You’ll see what we found though as we really lucked out in the short window of time we had. We made sure to hike out some modern trash as well (plastic water bottles, etc). #poisonbottles #bottledigging #dumpdigging #dirtfishing #antiquebottles

Great digs! I can't stress enough though how important gloves are. Just last week a friend of mine sliced his finger open badly. The last thing you want to have is a fun bottle dig cut short with a trip to the ER. Also next time bring a pair of clippers or a folding saw, it will make the digging worlds easier!

We mentioned it later in the video but we were initially only going on an exploratory hike to take a few test shovel-fulls and little more, so we didn't have a saw and our normal gear. We did have small clippers, but they couldn't handle that one root. Yeah, I always have gloves and wear them when I don't have to hit record on my phone for these clips. Thanks for checking it out.
